*Well, skinned the inside of one. The perfect accessory to your Huayra BC, then

It appears you can’t be a luxury car manufacturer these days without branching out and dipping your leather-lined fingers into a few more, less car-y design pies.

Seriously, everyone is at it. Mercedes is stamping its name on everything from blocks of flats to helicopters. Porsche has a boat. As does Aston. Pagani has gone one further, by designing its own plane. Well, the inside of one.

It’s called the Infinito. And it is Horacio Pagani’s personal and probably very expensive touch on the cabin of the Airbus’s eight-seater ACJ319neo jet. Anybody with a vague familiarity of Pagani will concur that Horacio’s cars offer a knockout combo of offering outrageous quickness, and exquisite detailing. This is what Pagani now wants to do with planes, thanks to Airbus.

Just like the Huayra, the Infinito uses Pagani’s bespoke high-strength but incredibly lightweight carbon-titanium composite – carbotanium – except this time it’s not in the chassis but in the eight passenger seats, dining room tables and wall frames.

The similarities with the Huayra’s interior don’t end there. There’s also the same ‘chromatherapy’ LED lighting, switches and buttons, all exquisitely milled from aluminium, and pretty much everything you can touch that’s not carbon has been skinned in the finest leather.

However, what you don’t get in one of Pagani’s road cars is the jet’s ‘sky ceiling’, a projection of the live view of whatever is going on outside. Or, if the weather is crap, a giant ceiling length screensaver for you to scroll through your favourite Facebook albums. Your ex’s profile, then.

Airbus prides the jet on being the widest and tallest business cabin in the sector. And with its ‘curves inspired by nature’, ‘shell-shaped valances’ and lounge, conference and sleeping areas divided by electro-translucent glass, it sure does beat EasyJet.

So, this or a Huayra BC?
