Oettinger: Custom RS6 (based on Audi RS6) news

OETTINGER in Friedrichsdorf now offers the next level of high performance enhancement to the Audi RS6. For those who felt, the first OETTINGER engine upgrade of 500 hp (Factory 450 hp), offered since the beginning of 2003, was not sufficient enough, a more powerful alternative is now available from the Audi Performance Team in Friedrichsdorf. 540 hp (397 kW) at 6000 rpm now make a statement which cannot be ignored anymore. The additional 90 horsepower, released through OETTINGER performance upgrades by the V8 Biturbo engine, present themselves in typical OETTINGER fashion. Without any lack, all across the entire horsepower and torque range.
To put such an enormous output of horsepower into realisation, several modifications were needed. At first a polished stainless steel exhaust system from the turbocharger back is installed. The system comprises of two down pipes to the cat, dual free flow sport catalytic converters, a mid section silencer and two rear mufflers with dual 75mm diameter tailpipes on each side. In addition to the greatly reduced exhaust back pressure, due to the 70mm cross section of the piping, further modifications to the fuel injection and air intake system have been developed. This lays the base to the 90hp increase alongside a vibrant sound from the forced induction eight cylinder engine.
As you can expect from the engineers in Friedrichsdorf, the recalibration of the engine software management has been carefully adjusted as well. It has been achieved through intensive testing on our four wheel drive dyno as well as the German Autobahn. The result is a close to perfect torque curve which now peaks a brutal 730 Nm (538 lb/ft) at 3300 rpm! It catapults the OETTINGER-RS6 from a 0 to 100 km/h (60 mph) in 4.2 seconds, makes it almost a second faster than the factory RS6 and represents the current standard in Audi tuning.
To actually convert the engine power increase onto the wheels, a modification to the transmission became inevitable and the OETTINGER Audi engineers needed to reprogram the entire software to do so. If required from the customer, the OETTINGER-engineers can remove the top speed governor, allowing the OETTINGER-RS6 to reach top speed peaks of over 300 km/h (187 mph), depending on vehicle specification and tire / wheel combinations. The entire conversion kit, including the removal of the top speed governor is now available in Friedrichsdorf.
Following the slogan "Power is nothing without control", the OETTINGER engineers developed and highly recommend their RS6 brake upgrade kit. This brake kit consists of 380 mm (15 inch) cross drilled high performance rotors on the front axle and cross drilled factory size rotors on the rear. In combination with the elegant and sportive 19inch OETTINGER-RZ wheels it gives the customer a tantalising visual appearance of the brake system as well.
Equipped with all OETTINGER performance upgrades, the almost 2 ton weight of the Audi RS6 sedan and station wagon finally convert into acceleration, performance and deceleration thus of a pure 'Noble Performance Sport Limousine'
