Nissan: Quest news **2011 Previewed (page 1)**
Nissan recalls Quest minivans - - Reuters / October 17, 2005 - - Source: AUtomotive News
DETROIT -- Nissan North America is recalling 109,437 Quest minivans because an adjustment mechanism on their second row seats may cause injuries, federal safety regulators said on Monday.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said minivans affected by the recall were from 2004-2006 model years.
"When the operator attempts seat adjustment, a finger may be pinched in the moving seat adjustment mechanism which could cause an injury," NHTSA said in an advisory on its Web site.

It's an improvement over the current Quest but I'd still take an Odyssey over it too.
Actually I'd take the Nissan Elgrand from Japan over both the Odyssey and Quest, too bad they don't sell them here....

I love my parents 05 Touring Odyssey. and every year they just keep getting better.
The ONLY thing on the quest I like is the multiple moonroofs. I think other than that request for the odyssey, I can't think of anything else I wish the odyssey had.

i sat in one, and it felt like i couldn't read, much less even push any of the buttons, without reaching an extra few feet.
one thing i NEED in my car, is a well designed dash/buttons

Back Where it Belongs - - By BRADFORD WERNLE | AUTOMOTIVE NEWS - - Source: Autoweek
CHICAGO -- Nissan officials admit that the interior of the current Quest minivan was so radical it turned off many potential customers.
"We made a little mistake and decided we needed to attack it immediately," says Carla Bailo, director of vehicle program management for the vehicle.
The result is the revamped 2007 Quest. Designers have moved the instruments from the center of the instrument panel to the more conventional location in front of the driver.
The third row of seats has headrests that fold automatically so the seats can be stowed easily. The headrests on the current model had to be removed and put into a bag to get them out of sight. The rear-seat climate controls, located in the instrument panel on the current model, are overhead in the new one.
"This was the largest mid-cycle investment in Nissan's history," says Brad Bradshaw, vice president and general manager of Nissan Division.
Dealer Fred Vargason, owner of Nissan of St. Charles, Ill., came to the Chicago Auto Show to see the new Quest, and he liked what he saw.
"The instrument panel configuration is 100 percent better than last year," he said.
The 2007 Quest will go on sale in June. Prices haven't been decided, but Bradshaw says they should be close to the $24,000-to-$33,000 range of the current Quest. Nissan sold 40,357 Quests last year in the United States.
Says Bradshaw, "We've got to do better than that."

Nissan dropped the first teaser image of the 2011 Quest minivan just before this year's New York Auto Show, and now we're seeing more shadowy angles of the new minivan, including the interior. Toyota's new "Swagger Wagon" is already off to a good start, and Honda's angular new Odyssey will be hitting the road later this year, so the minivan segment is starting to get pretty competitive once again.
From these teasers, we see a shapely new nose and a very upright rear greenhouse that gives the illusion of wrapping all the way around the D-pillar (sort of like what Nissan has done on the Cube). Nothing too outrageous has been done to the interior, but we expect overall refinement to be substantially better than what we've seen in previous Quests, and the usual host of cubbies and cup holders will surely be on hand.
The 2011 Quest will make its official public debut at this December's Los Angeles Auto Show, and those of you who are salivating at the thought of a new Nissan van can stay up to date on the newly launched Quest microsite. In the meantime, check out the gallery below to see the latest teasers, and follow the jump to read Nissan's (very short) press release.

Boxy...but better overall design versus the helter-skelter new Oddy design.
Interior is the best out there.
I'd like to see some more pics.

that's a lotta faux wood. a little too shiny but i do like that they went all out with it, a la MDX.
Love the silhouette. this is what vans should be about - functionality. the upright box is awesome, reminds me of the older Ram vans

So far, I like it the best, both exterior and interior then the new Odyssey and Sienna, but I've never been a mini-van person nor will I ever be. I'd rather walk then be caught dead driving a mini-van!
The interior is definitely up to class competitive and seems to have the cleanest and simplest ergonomics of the big Japan three!

Alright, def improvement.
However, one thing keeps sticking out in my head with the interior design - the hvac controls are a terrible placement. If i were the driver, i would get PISSED trying to read the display - it looks like the shift knob is in direct line with the display, not to mention in the way of changing the temp for the driver. but thats just me.

good call on the temp readout. it's just in plain bad location, it should be higher up.
