No, why? like I've been saying all along, 95% of the people that will get their hands on a GTR (none V), won't know how to drive it like it was meant to be driven... so what's the point? I guess for the status...

its like this... I have an aunt that's the typical Asian lady in her 60s... terrible driver, a couple years ago, she sold a motel/motor inn and got a ton of money... she runs out and buys a Cayenne Turbo and a MB S600... WHY??!!

the point is... (again) people who buys the GTR...won't have the skills to drive it anyway... (and again) all this talk about modding it... WHY!?!?

tho, I'd really want to see the V beat tge ZO6 at the ring....

The GT-R already beat the Z06 on the Ring, even though the time is shrouded in speculation. You must mean the ZR1....? pretty sure it can.... the time for the V-Spec prototype was 7:24 or something like that, which induces even MORE speculation.... 40 more horses and a 200 lb diet, and it only improves on the regular GT-R's time by 5 seconds?

That's what I thought, $30k extra, may be, but $60k extra seems to be too much.

I dunno, Jesal...you're profiling the GT-R against Honda's Ferrari fighter...it's a bit...of a reach?

That's like taking a BMW 335i and profiling that next to the NSX as well...of course, it'll look hella big...?

GT-R obviously doesn't have the look for everyone...but, I think it's fine and of course, when you compare it with an NSX...well, different league.

.

That was my point. The GTR looks to be more of a GT car (like the 335i) than a sports car. Which I understand that people want that so its easier to be a daily driver.

But with its amazing performance I just wished it looked the part. Just my preference. Example, you look at a 300zx, vette, ferrari, etc.. and you know its a hardcore sports car. That kinda of look makes me tingle in me pants.

Rest of the pics from different angles. http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108909

I know its an unfair comparison but those were the only pictures i found comparing to what I was talking about. Plus its not that big of a deal and yes im nitpicking but i still find the front to be hideous.

I cannot dispute the GTR's numbers....it's a beast.

I can however dispute the way it looks.....and it sure isn't sex on wheels.

Actually, it's more like saying, "she isn't that good looking and weighs 300 lbs, but I heard we had the greatest sex ever. However, I can't confirm that personally, because I couldn't feel anything - my whole body was numb during the experience. But I heard it was really great, from other people. And, we made lots of headlines."

Are you guys forgetting what the original Skylines or "gt-r's" looked like....they never were "exotic" or sports car looks to begin with.

good post. actually I loved the R33 and R34. The R32 was nice too. It was always more of a "muscle" car in its lines and looks - but it looked good too. I would definitely say the R35 is muscular in its lines as well. But, it's not a cohesive whole that flows and works together and it consequently doesn't work for me.

Who the hell cares if people think its ugly! I never understood why people get bent out of shape over someones opinion on styling preference.

I stated on how i feel about the front of the GTR, but you wont see me caring that other people like the looks of it.

To each their own. Get over it.

Nice stance and wheels - shame about the car its on. The car itself still looks the same - ugly.

You can call the GT-R whatever you want - a beast, giant-killer, Godzilla, etc. but one thing that nobody will ever call it is sexy. There is no amount of modding outside of body panel replacement/bodykits that will make it look good.

I agree with the previous posts.... nothing flows right. I like the hood bulge on the G37 (its my freaking desktop wallpaper ATM, ffs!) but the whole front end of the G37 just works.... its pleasing to the eye. It has NOTHING to do with the badge of the car, its price, its performance, etc. It ain't worth it getting worked up over people thinking a car is ugly, especially when you don't even own it or ever have.

Despite not looking exotic, which in itself doesn't constitute a good looking car - it definitely helps though - the older GTRs, R32-R34 looked great. Its like how I have an attraction to how the Evos have always looked - essentially what some would consider riced-out sedans from the factory.

Don't be a clown.

Never said it was ugly. Compared to the old NSX, the GTR loses IMHO.

It's a matter of opinion, but compared to most "supercars" or high end sports cars, the words sleek and sexy don't really come into play when describing the exterior design of the GTR.

I care because I designed the damn thing and its a personal insult to me everytime one of you know-nothing-about-style internet critics criticizes it!

Actually, if I didn't read your post just now I might have said the same thing about you! Obviously you were being sarcastic, but go ahead and read your last few posts regarding someone putting down the GT-R, and go back and read that post you just made.

Nissan delays GT-R Spec V, to offer S-Tune version in the meantime?

Today’s unofficial reports see the highly-anticipated Nissan GT-R Spec V delayed from a fall launch in Japan to some time later this year or early in 2009. The reasons for the delay are not known, but are likely a result of more time needed to develop the car, which has big shoes to fill in order to beat the performance of the standard car.

The reports originated from the Japanese BestCar magazine, and also reveal Nissan will launch a third GT-R model to appease buyers in the meantime. The model, likely to carry an S-Tune badge, will be offered with NISMO-developed parts, some of which adorned the racing version of the GT-R that raced in the Tokachi 24-hour endurance race. This model may come sooner than later, as it is expected to make a debut at the same time as the NISMO performance part line-up, slated for August 20.

The go-fast parts will include a selection of suspension upgrades, aerodynamic pieces, wheel and tires and a new ECU and exhaust system to bump up power output.

I just got a GT-R brochure. The car looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL in it. The pictures - the angles - the lighting - the poses... everything is set perfect and the car looks AMAZING. It's really an incredible brochure you should check one out when you get a chance. If I ever like, won a GT-R and decided to keep it, I would keep the brochure in my car at all times and take it with me wherever I go, and when anyone asks about the car I'd show them the brochure. hehe. If they ask to see the real car I'd be like uhh.. it's secret so you can't see it and stuff.
