Is it just me or are those front wheels really far forward? Overall it is okay...looks like a Nissan, not that I don't like the new Nissan flavor.

https://www.autoblog.com/2018/08/29/...es-same-price/

Nissan Frontier lives on another year with minimal changes, same low price

Starting price stays below $20,000 for the teenaged midsize pickup

There's a new 7-inch color audio display touchscreen for the base trims and expanded availability of the Cayenne Red Metallic color. And that'll do it for what's new with the 2019 Nissan Frontier, a pickup that saw its last significant update in 2005, when George W. Bush was beginning his second term in the White House and a website called YouTube was making its debut. Thanks for reading!

Even the price is holding steady from 2018, with a floor of $19,985, including destination. (Nissan boasts it's "America's most affordable pickup.") Everything else remains unchanged as well: There's the base 2.5-liter inline-four engine, making 152 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque, and the available 4.0-liter V6, which boasts 261 hp and 281 pound-feet of torque. The Midnight Edition package and its gloss-black grille, 18-inch black aluminum-alloy wheels and other murdered-out accoutrements carry over from 2018. And once again, there are the same choices to be made: king or crew cab, and rear- or four-wheel drive.

Last year, Nissan issued a rather cryptic announcement saying that a new generation of the Frontier would eventually launch at an unspecified date from its assembly plant in Canton, Miss., alongside five other models, so we're not sure what the discrepancy is in the meantime. A spokeswoman tells Autoblog only that the company "has offered no guidance on timing."

Meantime, Nissan managed to sell 74,360 Frontiers last year. That was down 14 percent from the pickup's banner year in 2016, but still respectable. Sales through July were actually up by nearly 2 percent from the same period in 2017, at 46,283.

https://www.autoblog.com/2019/01/09/...most-finished/

The Nissan Frontier is a dinosaur amongst midsize trucks these days. It was redesigned for the 2005 model year and gone steady since, with only minor updates here and there. Well, this dinosaur will soon be extinct as Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan senior vice president for global design, tells Autoblog a new Frontier is "almost finished."

Ivan Espinosa, Nissan's vice president of product planning, also told us "it is something we are actively working on, and will soon be coming into the market."

Nissan didn't provide us with an exact timeframe, but it appears to be closer than we previously thought.

These days it makes sense for Nissan to want a fresh face in the midsize truck segment. Manufacturers are dashing back into the segment after letting it languish for years, or in the case of the Ford Ranger, abandoning completely. SUV and truck sales are bonkers these days, making the case for a new pickup stronger than it has been in recent history.

The funny part is, however, that even with such a dated vehicle, Nissan sold 79,646 Frontiers last year — an astonishing amount. That's about 5,000 more than 2017 and nearly 30,000 more than the still-new Nissan Titan. Nissan still only sells a fraction of pickups compared to the Toyota Tacoma (245,000 in 2018) and Chevrolet Colorado (135,000 in 2018), but a new truck could easily change that. Plus, Nissan has a strong history of making little pickups that stretches back decades.

Despite confirming a new Frontier is on the way, we don't know any specifics about it. Nissan released the Navarra pickup for international markets in 2014, but as we roll into 2019, that truck is also getting old. Nissan could try and update it for the United States, much as Ford did with the Ranger, or it could build an entirely new truck to really get its hands dirty in the midsize truck segment here. Whatever it may be, a new Frontier is far closer to reality than previous thinking or rumors had us believe.

Hopefully the new Frontier isn't as as the Titan. IMO, the Titan is the worst looking full-size truck in the US. I'd take the new Silverado (now that I've seen a few on the road) over the Titan.

https://www.motor1.com/news/378196/n...d-2020-launch/

Having been around for about 15 years, the Nissan Frontier is listed in our “20 Oldest Cars, Trucks, and SUVs on sale today” with good reason. Nissan first announced plans for a replacement back in March when it said that work on a new generation of the pickup truck was well underway. Months later, Automotive News reported about the midsize workhorse being earmarked for a September 2020 unveiling as a 2021MY vehicle.

Fast forward to this week, our colleagues at Motor Trend learned from Nissan executives the Ford Ranger rival will indeed debut in its new form at some point next year. He didn’t go into any details about when exactly the premiere will take place and whether it will be launched at an auto show or a standalone event, but at least we now know for sure that it’s due in 2020.

Despite being around since the 2005MY, the aging Frontier is more successful in terms of sales than the Honda Ridgeline and GMC Canyon in the United States. The new one promises to be a “home run” as per a statement made by Ivan Espinosa, corporate vice president of global and Japan product planning. Motor Trend has learned the truck will retain the “same basic platform,” but updated in terms of chassis and electrical architecture in order to match what its significantly newer rivals are offering in terms of safety and connectivity technologies.

Espinosa went on to mention there will be an upgraded powertrain, with Motor Trend reporting a new V6 is in the works, along with a newly developed seven-speed automatic transmission and a revised six-speed manual. While an electrified version is not going to be available at launch, Espinosa explained they will consider a hybrid variant in the future depending on whether there will be enough customer demand for it.

Little else is known about the 2021 Frontier, but the design will evoke the “spirituality of adventure,” according to Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s global vice president of design. He also described the truck’s appearance as being “strong” as a result of a revolutionary design approach compared to the current model

The aforementioned Automotive News report quoted a person familiar with the matter saying it “still looks like something a truck guy would want.” The same article mentioned Nissan will indeed refresh the F-Alpha platform rather than switch to new underpinnings.

If the next Frontier is heading to a big auto show in the U.S., we could see it as early as February 2020 in Chicago or in June at NAIAS in Detroit.

Wonder if they're going to keep it similar, like this article says, or go with the global platform truck (Navara?) like Ford did with the Ranger.

How this thing has bot changed in 15 years and is still selling in respectable numbers is beyond me. I hope it looks nothing like the current Titan. Yuck.

We can hope but everything Nissan makes is except for maybe the Maxima.

With the reliability of Nissan I really don't care anyway. The only truck I really like is the Tundra, even though it's an old design.

The new and revamped 2022 Nissan Frontier is here and ready to rock the boat in the midsize pickup segment. It brings eye-catching styling, a new V6 engine (that actually debuted in the old truck) and all the updated tech amenities you’d expect to find in a brand new truck today.

Let’s start with design, because this truck sure is a looker. There’s no light evolution going on here. This is a full-on revolution, and Nissan killed it. The PRO-4X off-road model you’re looking at here has some resemblance to a Tacoma TRD product, but it’s still safely Nissan’s truck. Designers say they were inspired by the “rough and rugged” Hardbody of the 1980s and 1990s. It’s no retro copycat, but the idea is there in its high shouldered fenders, tall face and flat hood. Any indication of friendliness is gone, and that was the intention.

The grille is wide, but it’s a reasonable height and size. Nissan’s double LED DRL and headlight design looks superb. However, it’s the absence of any lower bumper that exposes the big all-terrain tires and massive skid plate that really completes the look. Combine this with the red tow hooks, and the PRO-4X looks about as mean as a Chevy Colorado ZR2 does — do note that the ZR2 will be much more capable off-road.

As is the case with many pickups these days, the model name gets stamped into the rear tailgate in huge letters. When it comes to overall dimensions, though, this midsize truck isn’t as huge as others. The standard wheelbase of 126 inches hasn’t changed from one generation to the next. However, the overall length of the standard truck did balloon by five inches this year — Nissan says practically all of that is in the nose of the truck, which helps give it that imposing stance. That makes it nearly as long (or as long) as most of the other midsize trucks. We’ll also note that Nissan is still offering a long wheelbase version that stretches the gap by 13.8 inches. Cab configurations include the base King Cab and the roomier Crew Cab. An updated hydraulic steering system that offers a quicker rack than before was implemented to keep it feeling small and agile.

We’ve known what would be under the hood for a long while now. Nissan previously announced that the 3.8-liter V6 it introduced as a last-second update for the 2020 Frontier was destined for the next-gen truck, and it made good on that promise. The engine makes 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. In case you were curious about the possibility of a base four-cylinder, Nissan quashed talk of that with minimal demand being the reasoning. A nine-speed automatic transmission is the only one available — it’s the same transmission as the Titan uses. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is optional. A new trailer sway control system is standard, and in its max towing configuration (rear-wheel drive S or SV trims) it can tow up to 6,720 pounds. That’s less than the Ford Ranger, Jeep Gladiator and Chevy/GMC twins can manage at their best — it nearly matches the Tacoma’s best, but is definitely on the way-low side of its class.

Supporting all that weight and new engine is an updated version of the outgoing Frontier’s frame. This truck chassis has been in use since the Frontier was totally new for the 2005 model year, meaning it’s about to go into its 18th year of duty. Nissan says it has continually updated the platform from the start, and updated it again for this generation. A larger front stabilizer bar, addition of a rear stabilizer bar and new jounce dampers for 2022 should all aid ride and handling. For more details on what’s new and Nissan’s rationale for sticking with it, check out this explainer post.

As the photos depict, there will be a PRO-4X model available. The package nets you an electronic locking differential, Bilstein off-road-tuned shock absorbers, a number of underbody skid plates, front tow hooks, all-terrain tires and a comprehensive appearance package both inside and out that includes graphics and red accents aplenty. Nissan is also adding a two-wheel-drive off-road package that’s new this year called PRO-X. This package includes most of the PRO-4X equipment, but it does drop the locking differential and skid plates.

The interior is where Nissan’s last-gen Frontier suffered the most at the end of its life. Consider the problems handled with the new Frontier. It’s a wholesale redesign, and the Frontier is finally competitive with all the other midsizers in tech and style. An eight-inch infotainment system running Nissan’s latest software is standard, and so is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can upgrade to a nine-inch screen optionally. A seven-inch screen sits in between the analog gauges on all trims, and there’s a WiFi hotspot option available on PRO-4X models. USB A and C(!) ports are available to plug in to, plus there’s an available wireless phone charger. Two 110-volt outlets and two 12-volt outlets round out the array of power sources. Of note for those seeking comfort: Nissan is using its Zero Gravity seats as the standard buckets. There’s much more insulation than before, and Nissan also used laminated glass for the front doors.

The Frontier has finally entered the modern era, and it appears much better for it. Predictably, it’s gaining a suite of standard driver assistance features including automatic emergency braking (front and rear), blind-spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and auto high beams. Adaptive cruise control is optional, but ProPilot Assist won’t be, because Nissan hasn’t switched from hydraulic to electric power steering yet. Nissan also found a way to repurpose its 360-degree camera for an Off-Road Mode function, giving you a live feed of the obstacles in your immediate surroundings. It works when you have the four-wheel drive system in 4LO and are moving at speeds under 6 mph. Off-road specs like ground clearance, approach/departure angles aren’t available yet.

There will be four total trims available for 2022: S, SV, PRO-X and PRO-4X. We still haven’t seen photos of a non-PRO-4X, but we’re told it has a new body-color grille. The absence of a luxury-oriented SL model is also notable, meaning you’ll need to get the PRO-X or PRO-4X if you want all the goodies. Nissan says the 2022 Frontier will go on sale in summer this year, and pricing will be available closer to the on-sale date.

I don't know, but that interior still smacks of the 90's. The only modern looking part is the front / headlights.

Interior is a big, meh
Looks very Tacoma-esque from the rear.
Front end looks nice.

Big improvement over the long-running outgoing model.

https://www.motor1.com/news/520831/2...-second-debut/

The 2022 Nissan Frontier arrived earlier this year to replace its ancient predecessor in a truck segment that is very competitive. During the official debut of the pickup, the Japanese manufacturer only showed pictures of the Pro-4X model equipped with a high-clearance front bumper. Now, Nissan has also shared the first photo of the standard 2022 Frontier.

The company is celebrating the start of production of the completely overhauled truck, which will be assembled at the Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant. The Frontier has been built at this factory since 2012 and the new generation model will rely on the company's more than six decades of truck expertise in the US.

"The all-new Frontier has surpassed our expectations – setting new standards for mid-size truck capability, technology and power," Tim Fallon, VP at the Nissan Canton plant. "The Canton plant team is full of pride and ready to produce the next generation of one of the strongest, most rugged trucks in the market."

As for the non-Pro-4X trim, the single photo available at this point shows a slightly modified front bumper and a less glitzy overall appearance. Nissan doesn’t reveal more details about the differences between the trim levels, though it says all 2022 Frontiers feature a new design with “a powerful front end with a massive grille and chiseled hood.”

Under the hood, as standard, the new Frontier gets a 3.8-liter direct-injection V6 engine generating a peak output of 310 horsepower. The motor is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and, depending on the trim level, you can get it with an all-wheel-drive system. In the Pro-4X, the AWD comes as standard.

The new Frontier will start arriving at US showrooms later this summer.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Nissan should make a new midsize truck more often. Turns out, the company is good at it. Waiting 17 years for a new Frontier is a rather unforgivable period of time — yes, the last time we had a new Frontier was in 2004. However, that doesn’t take anything away from the new 2022 Nissan Frontier, because it’s a damn good pickup.

How good, you ask? After a first go-round behind the wheel, it’s safe to say the new Frontier is officially on a level playing field with every other midsize pickup, and it’s reaching for a podium spot.

Nissan started this pickup renaissance with a full-scale redesign. The truck looks like a knockout in photos, but it looks even better up close and in-person. You can’t go wrong with either a standard model or a PRO-4X when it comes to aesthetics, either. All of them have a tall, squared-off nose with a big, but still reasonably-sized grille. It looks mean and capable, but not like it’s about to tear your head off and scare small children away. Bold and bright daytime running lights give it the modern edge that a 2022 pickup deserves, with LED headlights available starting on the SV. And the bulging fenders help complete the package in a rugged way that only the Toyota Tacoma has been able to capture. And yes, there’s no denying the Frontier’s resemblance to the Taco, but don’t mistake it for a copycat. Put the two next to each other, and the Frontier has a distinctive look and shape.

Those modern looks deserve a modern powertrain to match. Like most in this segment, Nissan has a big, naturally aspirated V6 ready for duty. Specifically, it’s a 3.8-liter V6 that makes 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. That’s technically more horsepower than anything else in the segment, but don’t get too excited — everything feels about the same when it comes to straight-line speed here. The engine was actually dropped into the previous-generation Frontier for one model year before moseying over into the new truck, and we’re glad to meet it again. Paired with this V6 is a nine-speed automatic transmission that’s pulled from the Titan.

Admittedly, to Nissan’s own disadvantage, it selected northern Utah and an elevation of more than 6,000 feet for the Frontier's first-drive press launch. It’s not possible to say how strong this engine will feel closer to sea level, but acceleration is not brisk in the mountains. As it stands, the low- and mid-range power is rather meek, and the forward thrust only starts to come on stronger toward the top end.

The nine-speed is a lovely partner when you’re just casually cruising around town, but it’s not so smooth and smart when called upon to change down multiple gears for a quick passing maneuver or steep hill. There were a few rough shifts, and the speed at which it responded to throttle prodding was a bit disappointing. There’s a one potato, two potato wait after getting on the throttle, and then you get a downshift.

One area that offers few disappointments is its new ride and handling, thanks to the upgraded frame and new suspension components. And yes, we do mean upgraded from its 17-year-old predecessor and not totally new – you can read a deep dive here on Nissan’s justifications for heavily modifying the truck’s current bones instead of building a totally new platform. It’s fitted with new urethane jounce bumpers, new hydraulic cab mounts (claimed 80% reduction in road vibration), a larger front stabilizer bar and a newly added rear stabilizer bar. The steering is still hydraulic, but is re-tuned to be 16% quicker than before. Plus, the PRO-4X and PRO-X models are fitted with new off-road-tuned Bilstein dampers. The non-PRO models get newly developed ZF dampers.

All of these additions have transformed the Frontier into a top-notch riding and handling pickup. Potholes and rough roads are handled with aplomb — yes, it rides better than a Tacoma. This applies to both the Bilstein-equipped and ZF damper-equipped pickups, as the difference in on-road ride is minimal. Plus, it doesn’t fall apart when you decide to throw it at a twisty mountain road, which you’re likely to do if you use the Frontier for its intended adventuring purposes. Steering is fairly high-effort at low speeds — no modern variable-ratio electric rack here! But it comes into its own once you get up to speed, and it’s especially good when you’re off-road.

Speaking of, Nissan let us have a go at a 45-minute off-road trail that took us up and down the side of a mountain. It was a rather rocky experience, enough so that we spent most of our time in 4LO with the PRO-4X’s electronic-locking rear differential locked. This is where we got to try out all the other PRO-4X goodies, too. Nissan’s off-road model (which is also the one that comes with the most standard features/tech) includes those Bilstein shocks, four skid plates, 17-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, the aforementioned electronic-locking rear diff and off-road trail cameras. The lower front bumper is removed. The PRO-X is a two-wheel-drive version that drops the skid plates but gives you the appearance extras, Bilstein shocks and all-terrain rubber.

All of the above is great stuff, but it’s the Frontier’s compact size that makes it so fun and capable on narrow trails like this. At 210.2 inches in overall length, the Frontier continues to be the smallest midsize pickup. That means it’s easier to place on trails and ultimately more fun and less stressful to take off-road. Even visibility over the muscular hood is great. A new steering damper is able to reduce impact harshness when bouncing over big rocks. A slightly tighter turning radius would be nice, but it isn’t bad enough that any tight trail turns required backing out and re-trying. Those Bilsteins offer great damping and rebound through harsh impacts and keep the truck’s movements controlled. Our biggest complaint is with the trail cameras — Nissan automatically turns them off if you go any faster than a slow creep, and even when they’re on, they’re essentially potato camera quality.

While the dimensions and underpinnings are familiar from the old familiar, the new cabin is on a completely different plane. You'd hope so after 17 years. Nissan fits its Zero Gravity seats as standard across the board, and they’re supremely comfortable and supportive. The new cabin has all the luxuries and amenities you’d expect in a 2022 pickup. You get a modern dash design with an 8-inch (or optional 9-inch) infotainment touchscreen that runs Nissan’s latest software and even includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard. There’s a 7-inch display in the cluster, and you can get as many as four USB ports, a wireless phone charger and heated seats/steering wheel. A host of driver assistance features come standard.

None of the other midsize trucks offer an especially premium or even visually interesting interior except for the pricey Jeep Gladiator, so it's not like the new Frontier has a lofty bar to clear. Still, it does just that. The PRO-4X is especially nice with its leather seats, leather steering wheel, bevy of red-orange accents and contrast stitching, but what takes the Frontier’s interior above and beyond the competition is just how refined it is. Nissan installed acoustic laminated glass, added boatloads of sound insulation and uses a more noise-resistant carpeting than before. It’s all instantly noticeable in the quiet and serene in-cabin experience it delivers. Even when revs are up from long uphill climbs, the engine noise isn’t overly intrusive. Add the available and quality-sounding 10-speaker Fender audio system to the mix, and the Frontier is a lovely road-tripper.

You may be less obliged to road trip the Frontier if maximum towing is the priority, though. For body-on-frame midsize pickups, the Frontier is dead last for max towing at 6,720 pounds. The Tacoma isn’t far ahead, but most of the competition maxes out around 7,500 pounds. That’s not to say the Frontier won’t work for your purposes, but other trucks could still be the difference maker if you tow some extra-heavy items. On the bright side, maximum payload is competitively mid-pack at 1,610 pounds. It’s also super easy to reach into the bed from the side to grab items, even if you’re short.

One important note on beds: Like the Ford Ranger, the Frontier's bed lengths are tied to cab style. The 6-foot bed is exclusive to the extended King Cab and its laughable micro back seat, while the Crew Cab, with its sufficient rear leg- and headroom, can only be paired with a 5-foot bed. The Tacoma and Chevy/GMC pickups offer long-bed/crew-cab combos.

Nissan has kept the new Frontier’s price under wraps until now, likely because it wanted to show us how good the truck was before hitting us with numbers we’re not used to seeing next to “Frontier." The cheapest version is now the S King Cab with rear-wheel drive, and it starts at $29,015. We haven’t seen any photos of this base truck yet, but the Frontier’s head of design, Hiran Patel, tells us that it looks similar to the SV, only with a black grille and flat black trim. Nissan’s volume leader is going to be the SV trim in Crew Cab form, fitted with four-wheel drive. This pickup will run you $36,315.

The truck we spent the most time in (and used for the video review) was a top-of-the-line PRO-4X. It starts at $38,415, but ours totaled $44,185 after the three available option packages were tacked on. Does that seem ludicrous for a Frontier? Yes, but it’s time for a Frontier expectation reset. That’s how much midsize pickups cost these days, and if you want something cheaper, the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz will soon be available. This Frontier goes toe-to-toe with all the others in the segment on every single front, and it even leads the way in some areas. Don’t sell it short, because the Nissan Frontier is back, and it’s a force to be reckoned with once again.

Nissan has unveiled a trio of truck concepts based on the new Frontier at the 2022 Chicago Auto Show.

The first concept is dubbed the Project 72X Frontier. It is based on a Crew Cab S 4×4 model and has been designed as a modern-day take on the classic Datsun 720 truck that was first introduced in the fall of 1979.

The Project 72X Frontier is finished in a gray exterior paint contrasted with a set of retro-inspired graphics and is rocking a set of white-painted steel wheels with the same tires as Pro-4X models. Nissan has also equipped the truck with a 2.5-inch lift kit that includes adjustable front upper suspension arms. There is also a sports bar located behind the cab.

The second concept unveiled in Chicago is known as Project Hardbody and is inspired by the Nissan D21 ‘Hardbody’. It started out life as a 2022 Frontier Crew Cab SV 4×4 and now sports a 3-inch lift kit, adjustable upper control arms, the same fender flares as the Pro-4X, Hardbody block-style wheels wrapped in 33-inch rubber, a bed-mounted spare tire carrier, a sports bar with 10-inch rectangular LED lights, and a blacked-out front end with door graphics

The last of the trio is arguably the most striking and is dubbed Project Adventure. It is based on the off-road focused Frontier Crew Cab Pro-4X, has been jacked-up with a massive 5-inch lift kit and sits on 34-inch mud terrain tires. Nissan has also fitted the truck with a Yakima bed rack system, a Yakima LoadWarrior roof basket, a sky tent, and a premium audio system from Kicker. A carbon fiber snorkel has also been installed, as has a wrap that depicts an atlas of the United States.

“People want to get out of the house, have adventures and do it in style, so timing of the adventure-ready 2022 Frontier couldn’t have been better,” senior vice president of Nissan U.S. and Marketing and Sales, Michael Colleran, said in a statement. “These three new projects show the possibilities with the new Frontier in this important Chicagoland market.”

The rugged and tech-filled 2024 Nissan Frontier is on sale in the US in fall 2023 with a starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $29,770.

Nissan Frontier enters the new model year with a throwback touch in the shape of the Hardbody Edition, a nostalgic tribute to the original Nissan Hardbody pickup of the 1980s that's sure to resonate with many generations. Available on Frontier SV Crew Cab 4x4, the Hardbody Edition features heritage-styled 17-inch wheels, retro-inspired decals, all-terrain tires, a sport bar, black exterior trim and other rad design flair. The limited-edition package has an MSRP of $3,890.

The 2024 Frontier also adds an SL grade on Crew Cab models. It bundles several appealing features - such as LED lighting, leather-appointed seating, a Fender® 10-speaker audio system and more - in a grade level that reflects customers' interest in a highly equipped midsize truck.

Additionally for 2024, available NissanConnect® Services now includes a three-year trial (up from a six-month trial previously). The telematics feature works with the MyNISSAN smartphone app and includes remote door lock/unlock, remote engine start/stop, vehicle health report, emergency calling and Nissan Skill for Amazon Alexa®.

The 2024 Nissan Frontier offers an array of bed lengths, drivetrain configurations and grades so that shoppers can pick the model that suits their needs, including the PRO-X and PRO-4X that whet the appetites of those heading off-road. The Frontier King Cab is offered with a 6-foot bed, the Crew Cab S and PRO-X/PRO-4X models feature a 5-foot bed and the Crew Cab SV is offered with either a 5-foot or a 6-foot bed.

The thrill of desert off-road racing is coming to the Nissan Frontier with the debut of a limited-edition package inspired by the modified Frontier in which Forsberg Racing recently won the NORRA 500 race.

Bringing race-inspired style to Frontier Crew Cab models, the Nissan Frontier Forsberg Edition dealer-installed accessory package features NISMO Off Road parts including new 17-inch Axis Beadlock wheels, rock sliders and a roof rack with integrated LED lighting. Forsberg Racing decals and a Forsberg Racing Limited Edition badge complete the desert-racing look.

Backing up the truck's appearance with enhanced capability is a NISMO Off Road lift kit and other supporting NISMO Off Road suspension parts, including forged upper control arms and high-performance shocks, Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tires (size 265/70/R17) and a NISMO cat-back exhaust.

The Forsberg Edition package will have a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $9,999. It can be installed by a Nissan dealer on a new or previously purchased Frontier (model year 2022 and above) and will be available in the fall of 2024.

The limited-edition package follows a collaboration between Nissan, Forsberg Racing and Chris Forsberg. Forsberg Racing developed a truck outfitted with NISMO Off Road parts for the rigors of the NORRA 500 off-road race. Chris Forsberg and Yokohama teammate Leticia Bufoni entered the 2023 year's race in the stock production class and took home first-place in the category. Their success demonstrates the durability of Frontier and showcases the improvements in performance and capability provided by NISMO Off Road products.

"Our championship win at the NORRA 500 was a testament to the capabilities of the Nissan Frontier with NISMO Off Road parts and Yokohama Geolandar tires," said Forsberg. "We took a stock truck outfitted with NISMO Off Road parts and drove it from the shop in Southern California to the event, raced across the Baja desert for 500 miles, and drove it back home to the shop without an issue. It's thrilling to know that more drivers will be able to experience a taste of the rugged performance that propelled our success in the NORRA 500."

The 2024 Nissan Frontier gives buyers an expansive range of grades from which to choose. The new-for-2024 SL grade is highly appealing with premium features like LED headlights and leather-appointed seating, while the PRO-X and PRO-4X enable exciting off-road adventures and the new Hardbody Edition package brings a dose of 1980s-inspired nostalgia to the truck. The 2024 Frontier has a starting MSRP of $30,030.

Like I said.

Tacoma lol.

The Frontier might be a good option if it was cheaper...but it's not so here we are.

Yup.
I think the new Frontier looks good, but wouldn't see myself choosing one over a Taco. 2nd choice would be the Ranger.
Nissan might get 3rd bill, since I haven't heard glowing things about the 2.7 I4T in the Colorado/Canyon.

Yep, why would I get a Nissan when there's something much better?

Sad, but true.
Outside of the Z & GTR, not much Nissan I'd put my $ into, nor care for.

Traded in my ILX for a 2023 Pro4x just two weeks ago. The sticker was about $47k but I got nearly $6k off so shop around. I wanted a truck that’s a truck … no turbos, no hybrids, the simpler the better. The rig looks good, is comfy, and gets me to all the rock climbing and MTB I can handle. Super happy with everything except for zero drivers grab handles.

My neighbor has a prior-gen Pro4X & seems happy with it. Was a big upgrade over his 1G Colorado, which his son inherited when he got his license.

Same goes even for those two.

Supra >>> Z
911 > GTR

GTR was a bargain at the price it was relative to competitors 10 years ago but now they're basically the same price.

Though I'd probably not opt for either of those.
Would probably just get a Cayman & split the difference.
