Too bad the suicide doors will never make production.

I hope this is a sign that Nissan is moving away from car designs that look like fish.

Beautiful...I wish someone would come out with their prototypes.
Nissan calls its Ellure concept "the sedan re-imagined," previewing what sort of design is possible for its forthcoming four-door range. This concept is at once elegant and aggressive, with styling elements that don't stray too far from what the automaker is currently putting out. Those headlamps, for example, use the same fin-like design of the taillights on the 370Z and Juke, and are a more forward-thinking version of what we currently see on the Maxima.
Let's be clear, though – there are plenty of elements on the Ellure that are purely concept car spec. The large, 21-inch wheels and rear-hinged rear doors, for example – stylish and sleek, yes, but hardly practical for future production sedans. The same thing can be said for the interior, which uses suede seats, "floating" headrests, red floors and red pedals (why don't more cars have these?).
The Ellure is powered by a supercharged 2.5-liter inline-four and a 25-kilowatt electric motor, mated to the automaker's Xtronic CVT and a front-wheel-drive layout. Nissan says the concept uses regenerative braking and an advanced drive-by-wire electric/hydraulic steering system to ensure that the Ellure is as involving as possible for drivers out on the road.
No, the Ellure won't be destined for production, but we're eager to see how this sexy new sedan influences Nissan's future product portfolio. See it in full high-res glory in the gallery below, and follow the jump for the official press release.

Looks like a beautiful concept. I look forward to seeing how this develops.

It's a concept car, people these cars basically have very little to no concern with safety or practicality.
I like the lines though. Slab sided cars are boring now. It will most likely get the boomerang treatment on the lights though.

You must be blind if you think the great British supercar company makes vehicles that look like Nissan fish.
However....Nissan: Please be bold and incorporate suicide doors for the masses
#15
Except for the front end on the current FX, which I have read in a few reviews looks like an angry fish, your the first I've heard call Nissan designs fish like, I've had several and don't see what your talking about. Even if they do like fish to you or others, I'd rather have that then a buck tooth beaver Acura is going with!!

Well, in that example, it is not a look...more like a pig trying to suck in air.

Pig has got a lot of power...needs a lot of air to suck in

^^ I still don't see the pig or the look on the bimmer front ends.
They still appear typical BMW kidney front ends.
I think I may need a 6 series.... solely for research purposes only, mind you....to determine the front end faces.

Welcome to space camp. I love the concept, you can easily see the direction that car companies are taking and its definitely the future.
With a ton of these on the road the 4G TL wont be as unique.

This Nissan is just a concept anyway. It won't look like this if/when it ever hits production.

That's what people say about the ugly girls too. "She's unique, and she has a great personality.
Don't worry, the 4G TL will always be unique; just like the Pontiac Aztek is still unique.

In case you guys dont know what the definition is
Its funny how you interpret unique as beautiful, amazing, best looking or any other compliment. Yes the car is unique because there is nothing like it on the road. Good thing? Maybe.... Bad thing? Maybe. Im not saying either or.
Get off your horse and get back under it where you know you want to be
: being the only one : sole <his unique concern was his own comfort> <I can't walk away with a unique copy. Suppose I lost it? — Kingsley Amis> <the unique factorization of a number into prime factors>
2
a : being without a like or equal : unequaled <could stare at the flames, each one new, violent, unique — Robert Coover>
b : distinctively characteristic : peculiar 1 <this is not a condition unique to California — Ronald Reagan>
3
: unusual <a very unique ball-point pen> <we were fairly unique, the sixty of us, in that there wasn't one good mixer in the bunch — J. D. Salinger>

We can only be thankful that there is only one car as "unique" as the 4G TL

Looks sorta like a Maxima w/ suicide doors. I personally don't like the doors, because the second set of doors for the back is too big. It should be like the RX-8, where the back doors are smaller for the suicide door setup, which I think looks better.
I think it will be more of its own car model than the next Altima design.

Allow me to give you the definition of ugly:
1. very unattractive or unpleasant to look at; offensive to the sense of beauty; displeasing in appearance.
2.
disagreeable; unpleasant; objectionable: ugly tricks; ugly discords.
3.
morally revolting: ugly crime.
4.
Acura 4th generation TL

Seriously now......comparing this concept to the TL....as if they are designed along the same lines?!?!?

Comparing? I did nothing of the sort. I simply stated that something with such radical styling would make the TL not as unique. You interpret that as me calling the TL the most beautiful car in the world. I know you may think I am a 4G fanboy, but you are incorrect. Yes I love my car... for me, not for you or anyone else. Youre entitled to your opinion just as I am.

The TL has "radical styling"
The Nissan concept is night and day from the Acura designs.
To try to say that this concept is on par or catching up to Acura's "radical styling" is sketchy at best.

For the most part, I like it. It does look better in person though
#35
I like it too, but
Nissans always had a habit of making really nice concept cars and terrible production cars.
Anyone else remember the Nissan Versa Concept? I would have bought it!
But in the end they gave us this
