am not sure what you mean, because there are a few different measures one can comment on interior, "being good or bad". To me there are 3 criteria.

1. Design
2. Quality of materials used
3. Fit and finish

As far as design, the Altima's interior is not below average in my opinion.

As far as quality of materials used, it was average to slightly below average.

Finally, the fit was interesting, because the first year cars were pathetic and the second year cars were average to that respect.
Dang dude, you took your time and broke it down! I could care less what changes the Altima has actually. Makes an okay rental.

It will probably be a mixture of the maxima design and pathfinder climate controls. The current car has the optional climate, where the new one has it standard.

Wow looks great. Love the front now and the interior looks a leap ahead in design and materials used as far as I can tell from the photos.

I was surprised to see Altima sales inching away at the Accords in January, 20,300 vs 25,402. This should push it even further.

The interiors are nice, but the instrument cluster of the Nissans/Infinitis are
Does anyone else think it may be hard to see the navi screen in that recessed center position? It's not angled towards the driver.

updated Altima

power is up by a little...i think around 5hp or so..

on a side note..i didnt know the new accord V6's made only 212lb of torque... i would much rather have the new toyota V6 with 30lb more of torque

The interior still has that "I'm trying to look luxurious but I don't have enough money" look.

Nothing like bashing Honda any chance you get eh? You can take the extra 30lb-ft, along with the soggy chassis, brakes, numb steering, and Maytag styling.

Anyway, the front of the Altima looks pretty good, way better than the buck tooth Maxima. They forgot to change the worst feature on the car though (besides the interior), the taillights.

Pot calling the kettle black? Accord and Camry are equals in my book. Interior looks way better that that crap before. And jeez, who doesn't have 3 pod gauges and chrome/aluminum trim nowadays. It's too old and cliche now.

Overall, good work Nissan on improving a good rental car.

You're entitled to your opinion. I have mine, and the Camry is nowhere near the total package that the Accord is. Heck, didn't the Camry get beat by the Malibu in one of the car mags recently?

are you describing your car to a 325i only w/o the extra 30lb in torque?

I guess I should have changed my sig. I've corrected the torque issue

As for the 325i, seems to me the TSX finished infront of it in the Road and Track (or was it Automobile) test of 30K sedans.

You are right, it was pretty pathetic. They gave 2 major reasons for putting it in third place (or was it forth?):
1. Too expansive (over $30K).
2. WAY TOO boring (inside/out/driving experience), basically just a people mover from point A to point B. Camry is for old old people who just want a soft and isolated ride.
And by the way, it their test Accord has a quieter interior that Camry.

So explain to me what you plan on doing with that 30 extra lb-ft.
Better acceleration than the Accord? Nope.
Better Handling? Nope.
Better Interior? Nope.
Better Fuel Mileage? Nope.
More Money? Yup

At least come up with a benifit to that added 30 lb-ft Gilbo. Oh wait, it will feel that much better in around town driving right.

You'd rather have more torque in a FWD car? But you know what that means, torque steer. And we know you don't like torque steer, or is it just only on Hondas?

I saw the new Altima at the Chicago Auto show and these are the following things I like or hate about the car from my observation:

Nicer interior, way better than the previous version's interior, but still cheap though!

More agressive looking headlights and new trademark Nissan grille

Ugly altezza style lights get more uglier!

Yes, its pretty much the same Altima as last year!:P

Thats about it!

actually if you knew what you were talking about and paid some attention, you would've found out the torque steer is an issue in the new TL b/c of its LSD..the auto's dont suffer from the torque steer as much.
