It would be nice if the GT-C made its way into production. However, I suspect that that may be as likely as the 300hp Honda AC-R was with the 6G Accord.

Am I the only one that thinks that people looking to buy a Porsche or a Maserati would not even consider a Nissan?

I hear ya... When I leased my 2006 Z, I was hoping a new model wouldn't come around for a while since they made a lot of updates on the 06 model.

In 07, I believe the changes are going to be a few new colors, updated airbags and I believe the new VQ from the G35 sedan.

So this means that the current gen car will get the newly updated VQ engine probably used in the G coupe.

I'm not sure as to why Nissan is waiting until 2009 to release the new bodystyle. I wonder how current G35 coupe owners feel that their car will be outdated by next year with the release of the 2nd gen G35 coupe?

The same as the E46 M3 owners when the next-gen comes out?

Or the Chrysler 300M owners when it was replaced by the 300C?

Need I go on?

I actually felt better about my 2002 Maxima when I saw how the 2004 Maxima appeared. (IMHO, the 2004 was only upmarket from the 2002 on paper not, execution.)

I was kinda glad they didn't make another, that way I'm still driving the latest CL and don't feel a need to upgrade.

I'll take a 450Z-though it's pretty easy to bolt on 90 hp now w/ a SC. I've been waffling back and forth on this for two years now.

Even if the car isn't redesigned until 2009, I'm sure there are going to be plenty of refreshes and this will open up the chance for developing more mods for the car. If the new one hit the road next year more companies wouldn't put money into developoing mods for the older model when the new one is already out.

Updated info and pics about the Strosek Nissan...

[img]http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-2007/2007-Strosek-Nissan-350Z-Rear-Angle-1024x768.jpg/img]

Press release...

What began as a development project for Nissan at the start of the nineties--the Strosek 300Z was the result of this cooperation--we have now extended with the Strosek 350Z.
The Nissan 350Z naturally has a clear, reduced design with a crisp, sporty appearance. It was a very special challenge for us to not only retain these attributes but to also reinforce them with a pure, highly functional aerodynamics program.

The Strosek 350Z is a truly super sports car which immediately appeals with its futuristic form. The concept works just as well on the race track as on the road thanks to the aerodynamics optimized in the wind tunnel. Through the clearly structured design elements, the vehicle has the character of a high class architecture and at the same time the powerful dymanics of an extreme sportsman.

Post 350Z GT-S to be made...

From Leftlanenews...

Nissan will put the 350Z GT-S into limited production, according to a report by Britain's AutoExpress magazine. The car was first unveiled in June as a concept, though Nissan hinted it could see production. The GT-S features a supercharger, bringing output to 382 horsepower from the regular 300 hp. Accordingly, zero to 60 mph takes just 4.8 seconds instead of the usual 5.8. The supercharger will reportedly have an on/off switch.

Buyers in the U.K. will reportedly pay £36,000 when the car goes on sale later this year. The standard 350Z Gt costs £24,000, meaning the GT-S will be about 50 percent more expensive. Considering a U.S base price of around $27,000, we suspect U.S. pricing would be around $40,000 for the GT-S. However, that has been no confirmation of U.S. availability.

That does seem to be the overwhelming demographic of Mo drivers here in NJ, yours truly excepted.
