Next Gen. Volvo XC70 News **Spied (page 1)**

Don't be fooled by the twin kidney grille. This is no Pontiac . And it's not a BMW either. Hiding underneath all the bolted-on panels is in reality a new Volvo XC70.
The new Cross Country wagon will arrive in time for the 2008 model year, along with two other new Volvo models: a new V70, and a new crossover measuring in a bit larger than the new RAV4.
But the XC70 is the first of the upcoming models that we've spotted, and even under all the camouflage, it's obvious that it carries many of the new S80 styling cues. Being a Cross Country model, it keeps a very muscular look with its huge egg-crate grille and upright stance.

I have no idea why Volvo still bothers making them. I've seen maybe 3 on the road in my lifetime. They're better off making a small SUV like the RDX or X3 using the S40.

I know wagons don't sell in the States, but the XC70 is far more versatile than most SUV's (big or small). My dad has one and it amazing what you can fit in it. The lower center of gravity helps handling too. Now if only they could build one that doesn't self-destruct after 3 years...

maybe where you live but around the northwest and im sure parts of the northeast they are pretty common
oh and they are building a small suv coming soon.. same platform as the new LR2
