Next Gen. Lexus LX News **LX 570 Confirmed (page 1)**

Next generation heavyweight - - Text: Automedia / Photos: Automedia - - Source: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/

Toyota’s top of the line model, the big off-roader Landcruiser, underwent a minor facelift in 2005. Here now are photos showing a prototype of the next generation Landcruiser/Lexus, which will be an all new car.

Caught during secret testing in southern Europe, the crew of engineers from Japan and Belgium had the current Landcruiser as well as a Mercedes ML for comparison along with the prototype. As can be seen despite the burly disguise, the next Landcruiser gets a rounder styling than the current rather square model. Engines are expected to range again from a V6 diesel to a V8 petrol power plant. The styling of the passengers compartment looks like it will become even more luxurious than now including more wood panelling and chrome. The new Landcruiser should be ready for release some time in 2007.

I'm gonna say it'll look like a bigger GX470, but without the awkward height in its silhouette, and without the swing out tailgate. Although I see the big ass taillights made it to the next gen. as well.

these threads are no better than the CG threads.. in fact, they are arguably worse. hey the 2015 Lexus GX has been spied - it has 4 wheels, and resembles a large SUV.

Why do I remember somewhere reading that the engine in that thing will displace 5.7 liters?

Long overdue. I'm sure the Land Cruiser will follow or die. Anyone know?

Ugly and that's one of the reasons why gas demand and prices are so high due to these big SUVs

I've always dreamed of putting gaffers tape all over my dashbaord. Has a upscale Red Green look to it.

2008 Lexus LX 570 Preview - - by Marty Padgett - - Source: The Car Connection

In a brief press release,Toyota confirmed that its Lexus brand would be unveiling a new LX570 sport-utility vehicle at the 2007 New York auto show.

The new model replaces the outgoing LX470, which shares its running gear with the Toyota Land Cruiser. The new LX is expected to share the new 5.7-liter V-8 engine Toyota installs in the Tundra pickup.

Spy shots of the Toyota Land Cruiser (above) show a smoother body style, which the Lexus edition will likely adopt as well.

Other details are slim. Toyota says the third-generation LX ute will "reach new heights in performance via a powerful new V-8 engine while achieving elevated levels of comfort, style and safety."

Toyota's press conference takes place on April 4 at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan.

Even though I'm sure it guzzles, I hope they put a nice powerplant in the new LX. Although I'm sure that since it's Lexus this won't really compete performance wise with the ML.

Two Questions:
Guesses as to whether or not this will be tuned/detuned/same hp/tq ratings as the 5.7 in the Tundra?
Is this in the same size market as the Cayenne, Q7, and GL?

Taken from the Lexus website. Look at the leather-clad center console. Plush!

The front looks good, but that's about it. The side profile looks very similar to the last gen and the rear end is UGLY!

I kinda expected it to grow much bigger (like Sequioa size) but apparently it's the same size as the old model, only a little bit longer.

Interior very nice...although I don't know why they didn't continue the leather above the glove box.

There's nothing original or fresh about this design. The slapped an LS-esq grill and front end on what looks to be a refresh (though it's not). I really don't like the Navigator inspired rear. The interior console's look and layout are great.

who cares about the rear end (which IS "interesting to say the least) when the interior looks soooo nice! Lexus really does know how to make a decent interior when they want to.

nice insides, front is decent save for the inexplicable and undesirable Inifinity (sic) influence, the rear looks like a cross between the Navigator and the station wagon from National Lampoon's Vacation...

Yikes. That would be the 4th SUV in Lexus' lineup, and that's not including the inevitible cute-ute to go against the RDX and Infiniti EX. How many SUVs does Lexus need?

It looks good, the current LX is from 98? They needed to modernize it and they did a good job. It will look better in person....

front looks good. all the new lexuses (lexi?) have very nice, attractive fronts.

the rear looks like a navigator.

but the interior is gorgeous.

looks like another winner for lexus.
