"Infiniti's successful makeover is prompting its Japanese rivals to move more aggressively to spruce up their luxury lines..."

"Honda Chief Executive Takeo Fukui says that the company is aware of the criticisms and that the new version of the company's flagship RL sedan, due out next year, won't use front-wheel drive -- though he won't say whether the car will be all-wheel drive."

It wont be RWD, I can attest to that, so...

Acutally I was reading another "article" today about the RL coming out as a hybrid possibly even in its first year of introduction. That's a few months from now. I did not post it because it was rumors from insiders, plus not really huge news.

So it could be that the next RL will be AWD, BECAUSE, it will be a hybrid from the get-go.
