What surprised me is the look of the plastics along the dash and elsewhere, they look cheap. I remember when the pilot came out and I was impressed by the materials and design throughout. With this, yes, I'm glad they added nav but the quality and design inside didn't surpase the sienna like I expected.

Sienna AWD
Toyota Canada is going to take advantage of the fact that they offer AWD on the Sienna and Honda doesn't on the Odyssey by making AWD available on any model Sienna. A base CE is $30,000 CDN, with AWD the CE is $35,900 CDN.
I think Canadians tend to buy the base model more than Americans, and of course AWD is welcome for about 6 mos. of the year in most of the country. ;-)

I think Honda's first mistake was pricing the entry level Ody $2500 more than the entry level Sienna here in Canada. But I think they realize they won't be selling them in big numbers north of the border anyway. There's no way either company can compete when you can walk away with a Caravan with DVD thrown in for 25K CAD on the road. The Caravan has the market covered in Canada.

Toyota generally does the cheaper pricing, but if you look at the more "expensive" competing model from Honda, it usually has equipment that most people would opt for anyway on the Toyota. In other words, Toyota has base models that are just that...to lure in buyers. Believe it or not, the new Corolla still comes with manual roll up windows on the base models.

So does the Civic, at least in Canada. Our SE and DX models have roll up windows.
Or did you mean to write Sienna?
