^ - I was really hoping that the new TL pictures were just shitty. Then I saw it in person and realized the pictures made the car look decent.

And I agree 100 percent with your Audi stance.

Cool x6

BMW sold 266 x6s last month ... Acura might wanna rethink the MSX @ this point. Their sales may be better considering the RDX outsold the x3 but its #s were still pretty low.

@ the X6. Extremely similar to an X5, sans useful big cargo space..... one of the main purposes of SUVs in the first place. And the only vehicles in Acura's lineup that don't make me want to gouge my eyes out are the TSX and MDX. I never was and never will be a fan of the 4G TL's punched-in-the-face look. and YES, its even uglier in person, even with a body-matched grill. The pictures actually make them look decent in comparison.

And its funny, I've seen maybe 1-2 4G TLs on the road, and I go to work and school about 10 mins away from dealerships. Meanwhile, there are a bunch of TLs sitting on lots. I've seen 4-5 Genesis's already, they look great. What surprises me is the G8.... its far from a luxury car, but its MSRP is in the "entry-level" range so in comparison its not selling well at all.

Read Crazy Acura's post above. The X6 is a niche vehicle.

Or is that BMW/BMW fanboy spin?

Are they made by hand, that is a very low volume.

At least locally, they are doing a HUGE discount for the remaining X6 here - something like a $7000 discount! Surely that was not pre-sold and that there is not a waiting list then...

Im just repeating what my salesguy told me when i bought the 328i. Then again we all know how sales guys are.

I just checked my local dealer's website and they seem to have 4 in stock. SO i guess they arent presold as he said.

And for good reason. It has no place in this market.

Last month the X5 sold 2,875, up 23.3% from last year. So far this year they are down 15.5%.

BMW Group U.S. Division Reports January Sales

BMW Group sales in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) down by 15.5 percent in January 2009.

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) reported January sales of 14,314 vehicles, a decrease of 15.5 percent over the 16,935 vehicles sold in the same month of 2008.

BMW Brand Sales
Sales of BMW brand vehicles decreased 15.5 percent in January for a total of 12,232 compared to 14,475 reported in the same month a year ago.

"We're in a definite 'toughing it out' mode and this has aided improving our market share this month," said Jim O'Donnell, President of BMW of North America, LLC. "It's meant focusing on the real basics of making sales and we've demonstrated this with our Certified Pre-Owned program continuing to be embraced as a good alternative by our dealers and consumers in the current climate and now we hope to add the momentum of the new 7 Series and Z4 coming out this spring."

BMW Automobile Sales
BMW's automobile sales are down 21.3 percent in January to 8,697 versus 11,053 in the same month of 2008.

BMW Sports Activity Vehicle Sales
Sales of BMW Sports Activity Vehicles increased 3.3 percent in January to 3,535 vehicles over the 3,422 sold in the same month a year ago.

MINI Brand Sales
MINI USA reported sales of 2,082 automobiles, down 15.4 percent from the 2,460 cars sold in January 2008.

"Consumers really are keeping their heads inside their shells this month," said Jim McDowell, Vice-President of MINI USA. "Showroom traffic is down but our internet vehicle configuration and early dealer website contact is above last year at this time, so we may be seeing early signs of stimulus expectation. Considering this, being 15 percent down was not a roaring start to the year but one we'll take as it still keeps us ahead of overall market momentum."

Looks like Altima sales edged out Accord sales by a hair for Feb 09. For all the bashing by the purists on Azine and other boards, 350Zs seem to be selling well nonetheless.

Best (dare I say only good) looking car currently sold by Acura. A K23A or J32A3 powerplant would relegate the TL and RL into obscurity (and further obscurity for the latter). That said, I see the 2G TSX all the time here in central NJ.

The S Class sold 985. Mercedes sold a total of 14,199 outselling Lexus last month. The GLK really helped ... the RDX now has serious competition in the entry-level luxury CUV category.

Well, the TL seems to be holding its own against the competition. Guess fugly is relative and the Acura brass not so stupid.

When the manual transmission TL-SHAWD comes out for 2010 as well as the 2010 V6 TSX, then Acura will have a pretty solid combo in the sedan sweet spot.

Do you know how many of those were 350Z's, and how many were 370Z's? Is the 370Z even out yet?

And ya, the TL's doing pretty well I must say considering it's moved up.
