whole idea of the CLS always confused me (4dCoupe) for a while. I started appreciating the design of a sporty sedan like it over the past couple years though. This car really is gorgeous.

maybe the CC was designed with the 1st gen CLS in mind... but when I looked at the CC the first time, it never crossed my mind that it was a wannabe CLS. But, at first glance of this new CLS, that was the first thing I thought of... "hmmmm kinda looks like a CC"

Design cues from the CLS above were established by MB in 2007 with the C. Look spread to SL, GLK, and E from there... long before VW CC which is a poor copy of the original.

I never get why people always think Four Door Coupe X looks like Four Door Coupe Y.

The CC, CLS (new and old), and Sonata look nothing alike to me. Even the rooflines have their own archs.

pretty nonsensical to make a comparison to the CC. who cares. so the CLS looks like a car that was designed after it? whats the point? you think MB would redesign around an underpriced wannabe like the CC? no way.

BTW, that rear has a shocking resemblance to the maxima.

Information leaked alongside the pictures on the Mercedes-Benz Passion blog site included the CLS’s engine range. Diesel engines include a 261bhp 3.0-litre V6 common-rail diesel in the CLS350 CDI, while the petrol range contains 3.5-litre V6 and 4.7-litre V8 units. The CLS63 AMG will be powered by the new twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 from the CL63 AMG and S63 AMG.

It was revealed that sales will start in January 2011 for the new CLS, although pricing has not been leaked.
