Melkus: RS2000 GTS news **Black Edition Revealed (page 1)**

Dresden-based BMW and Lotus dealer Melkus started producing the RS2000 in honor of the race driver Heinz Melkus. Based on the Lotus Elise platform and its Toyota-sourced engine, the RS2000 was restyled to include gull-wing doors.
At the 2011 Top Marques Monaco Show, Melkus announced a new 350 bhp version of their car in GTS specification and 300 bhp for a GT model. Adjustable dampers and AP performance brakes were also added to the package.
Sepp Melkus expects to reach 186 mph with the new power and 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
A new aerodynamic package is also available which includes a deep front spoiler, rear wing and diffuser.

skipped the text and first shot made me instantly think Lotus... no wonder. Looks good though, but yeah probably can't afford it.

2012 Melkus RS2000 Black Edition

With the “Black Edition” the unique MELKUS sports cars now feature a special premium piano lacquer finish - Outfit. Only a total of five cars are being made with this exclusive paintjob in our Dresden MELKUS manufactory.
Applying piano lacquer, a black lacquer finish, is an extremely demanding paintjob. This paintwork requires six layers with each layer being sanded separately. The elaborate paintwork provides an extraordinary brilliant deep black finish and a very smooth surface. The exterior is rounded off with a carbon Sport – Bodykit. In a word, an elegant suit made to measure for our exclusive MELKUS RS2000 sports car.
The interior also features a black finish. Black full-grain leather furnishing and an Alcantara interior roof lining as well as numerous piano lacquer and carbon applications are a perfect match to the elegant exterior with the exquisite embroidery alluding to the “Black Edition”.
The “Black Edition” also features more standard equipment. This includes, along with a Carbon – Bodykit, a high-quality infotainment system with a navigation function and a high-performance braking system as well as an improvement in performance. As with all other MELKUS vehicles, the RS2000 “Black Edition” can also be customised further.
Powered by a two-litre turbo-engine with a 6-speed gearbox and 325 HP (239 kW), the MELKUS RS2000 “Black Edition” accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The car’s top speed equals 270km/h.
The basic price for a MELKUS RS2000 “Black Edition” is 149,900 euro.
Black and White was the motto of the first run of the “Black Edition”. The sports car had just been taken out of the Dresden MELKUS workshop when a “Photo Shooting” already began. The great pictures of the Black Edition and further information can be downloaded.
