Lotus is back with an entry level Elise that is set to propel the Hethel based sports car manufacturer further up the sales charts.

0-60 in 6.3? That's some sad shit right there. A sports car should never be above 5.5 seconds in my opinion.

Lotus, Enterprise Renting Elise - - Source: The Car Connection

No more Cobalts for you - it's time to think Lotus when renting your next car. The Atlanta-based sports car company says it's now offering its two-seat Elise roadster in select Enterprise Rent-A-Car

outlets. Some 50 Elises will make their way into the rental fleets in cities like San Francisco, L.A., Vegas, and San Diego. Lotus hopes to get the cars out in states other than California, Florida, and Nevada in the near future. The Elise soldiers on for the 2007 model year as a 190-hp, two-seat roadster weighing less than 2000 pounds, giving it better dynamics than just about anything else at the Enterprise counter.

... or anything else in the world short of a custom-built race car. Seriously, do you think Amex has a clause for that thing in the complimentary rental car insurance agreement?

I just hope they don't do the same shit Hertz does with the Shelby GT-H where you can only rent it if you fly into a airport.

Understatement of the year!

What do they mean by just about?!?

Here's the full list of what they have to rent. See if you can pick the Elise-beater from the list:

Oh, maybe it's the Dodge Stratus that's the true sports car in their line-up....

When we actually tally up actual SPORTS CARS, things will become CLEARER.

Please post all the SPORTS CARS THAT YOU ACCEPT TO THIS DAY (SUB 6.0S) except the lotus.

Where in So. Florida? My parents are getting ready to spend the winter at their place in Naples. I'd fly down there and rent one of these......Then head over to the nearest track holding an OT event!

Arnold actually has been a good governor. Much more so than the person he replaced, Gray Davis.

I am looking forward to a second term with Arnold as governor.
