New Generation Lincoln Aviator Takes Flight

· The next-generation Aviator will be a new kind of Lincoln – its first-ever, car-based SUV.

· Aviator remains an integral part of the Lincoln lineup and is evolving to meet customer demand.

· The teaser vehicle that debuts at the 2004 North American International Auto Show signals future Lincoln entry.

Lincoln’s next-generation Aviator will “crossover” to a car-based platform, enhancing Lincoln’s lineup, while maintaining its place as Lincoln’s entry in the mid-sized SUV segment. A teaser of the luxury SUV debuts at the 2004 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The medium-size utility vehicle segment is one of the fastest-growing premium segments in the industry. Dubbed a crossover sport utility vehicle, Aviator’s move to a car-based platform will help Lincoln deliver a very competitively priced vehicle – one with exceptional comfort, elegant design and effortless driving – everything customers expect from a Lincoln.

“The next-generation Aviator is a new kind of Lincoln; it’s our first-ever, car-based SUV,” said Phil Martens, Ford Motor Company group vice president, Product Creation. “Aviator is here to stay and is evolving to meet customer demand.”

Lincoln Design Soars

The next-generation Aviator will get an all-new look and architecture. This sneak peek strongly suggests the direction that the exterior design will take moving forward. As the first Lincoln car-based SUV, it is designed with sporty lines while incorporating current Lincoln design cues. It also applies classic design elements from the past, modernized for use in future applications.

“We wanted to create a new type of premium crossover,” said David Woodhouse, chief designer. “The teaser, much like the future Aviator, is a midsize sports crossover designed with distinction, but it does not forget where it came from.”

A signature bright metal strip inspired by the 1961 Continental begins at the grille, runs over the fenders, frames the full-length glass roof and ends at the lower tailgate, accentuating the vehicle’s profile. The all-glass roof provides a panoramic, overhead view.

One of the most noticeable characteristics is a new Lincoln grille, a trait to watch for on future Lincoln models. The polished egg-crate grille, reminiscent of elegant Continental models of the past, features a rhythmic pattern of solid horizontal and vertical chrome trim. The grille surround encompasses the headlamps, a cue also from the 1961 Lincoln Continental. The new face incorporates a nearly 2-by-4-inch Lincoln star and a bright horizontal blade by the lower air intake.

Its 21-inch spoked wheels, made from a combination of cast and polished aluminum, feature wheel caps with the Lincoln star at the center. Additional polished bright work can be found running the length of the side windows, on the door handles, head and tail lamps and vehicle badging.

The richness of the exterior color, combined with the vehicle’s bright detailing, create a feeling of urban sophistication. When approaching the vehicle, the exterior appears to be black in color, but up close, its tone changes to a deep Pacific Blue.

This Aviator teaser shows off a uniquely wide C-pillar, giving the vehicle’s visual stance a sense of balance. It also features a recessed Lincoln star with intricate detailing.

The upper glass lift gate features a nearly 3-by-6-inch floating Lincoln star, integrating horizontal taillamps that stretch the full breadth of the rear and emphasizing the vehicle’s width – another echo of past Lincoln proportions. The tailgate hinges flat, offering an unobstructed entry to an unexpected amount of interior cabin space.

First-Class Travel

Staying true to its Aviator name, this vision for the next generation Aviator features a conceptual interior that couples an aviation theme with an innovative use of space, unique materials, comfort and convenience features that unmistakably make it a luxurious Lincoln.

“This dramatic one-and-a-half-box design features a modern, efficient package where occupants are accommodated in a versatile and generously spacious ‘lounge-like’ interior,” said Woodhouse. “The vehicle is designed to make you feel as though you’ve purchased a first-class ticket on a most exclusive airliner.”

The Aviator features flexible storage and seating. Adjustable first- and second-row seats, as well as two storage consoles that move forward and rearward between the occupants, allow passengers to arrange the cabin in different configurations for long trips.

The rear console also features personal climate and navigation controls; additional storage is found in all four doors and seat backs.

Keeping with the aviation theme, lap tables with a leather-trimmed pad deploy from the rear center console to be used for a laptop computer, snacks or travel games in the second row. Aviator’s four reclining captain-style chairs have integrated leg rests for an extra level of comfort and luxury. To complete the travel experience, DVD screens are integrated into the front row seat backs.

Genuine aeronautical vents and map lights are found on the cantrails and headers with additional illumination in the upper door trims for theater-like ambiance.

Unique Materials

True to Lincoln, the interior features a combination of unique materials, creating a luxurious and relaxing interior environment.

The symmetrical floating instrument panel exhibits a combination of brushed and brightly polished aluminum accents on the cluster, radio, navigation and climate controls, elongated vents and Lincoln star – adding jewel-like detail and contrast to the interior. The instrument panel also features a laser-inscribed “Aviator” vanity plate of polished aluminum above the glove box, again giving the Lincoln stamp of luxury.

The seats feature a combination of light and dark plush leathers with textured leather accents on the headrest, lumbar support and footrest.

Light-colored leather is found from the belt line up and helps lift attention upward. It’s also found on the steering wheel, dash and door accents. The reddish undertones of the dark leather used from the belt line down give the interior space a feeling of richness.

A continuous, Behr, pure hardwood floor with bright aluminum strip accents begins at the instrument panel and flows uninterrupted into the cargo space, maximizing the interior space. Behind the occupant cabin, the Aviator teaser’s cargo area features 30 cubic feet of storage space, enabling customers to pack for any trip. The hardwood flooring is carried through to the inner tailgate, a design detail that provides an impactful first impression upon opening the cargo bay.

Meantime, the all-glass roof is framed by a repeat of the exterior signature bright strip, adding to the interior’s super sensory experience.

Comfort and Convenience Features

The center stack features a multifunction information screen displaying satellite navigation, climate control status and vehicle information like seat memory and tire pressure. Occupants also can access concierge services, weather forecasting, hotel or restaurant information via the Internet.

The teaser features Lincoln’s exclusive THX®-certified audio system for the purest sound available in a vehicle. This hi-fi system has nine speakers with automatic mute control. Also, for passenger comfort, the radio’s volume automatically adjusts to the vehicle’s speed – raising the volume as the speed increases.

Aviator also boasts a collection of luxury features that enhance the occupants’ journey, including rain-sensing windshield wipers, self-leveling headlamps, power and heated exterior rear view mirrors with integral direction indicator, automatic dimming rear view mirror, height- and reach-adjustable steering col, built-in capability for hands-free telephone, driver and passengers independent climate control with pollen filtration and an integrated global vehicle theft location system.

Travel With Confidence

As a representation of the next-generation Aviator, the teaser combines sporty lines, a broad stance and generous ground clearance to assert the vehicle’s off-road capability while echoing its on-road refinement.

For a smooth progression of power, the show vehicle boasts a six-speed automatic transmission to deliver torque on demand.

The vehicle’s front suspension features adjustable dampers to deliver improvements in overall ride quality. A rear multilink suspension delivers a well-controlled ride and responsive handling.

For occupant safety, high-strength steel, monocoque construction utilizes hydroformed components to create a rigid, safe body shell for optimal protection. Additional safety features include dual stage driver and passenger air bags, including side air bags, integrated seat belts in all seats with belt pretensioners, three-point rear safety belts, automatically monitored and adjusted tire pressure sensing system and high performance brakes with ABS.

awesome! they better make this fast because current aviator is just too boring!

CCColtsicehockey 04-02-2018 07:11 AM

Hopefully they don't mess this thing up. It is listed as a concept but it looks really production ready to me. Produce it just like it looks with no changes. I like a lot of what Lincoln has been doing lately. My grandfather was always a Lincoln guy for most of his life and I remember some of the cool things in them growing up. Never liked them too much before but this looks great.

I worry the linterior materials and the mirror mounts will get cut from production. If they get rid of the mirror mounts I think it will change the look of the outside negatively. Also don't make it a hybrid unless there is also an option for the 3.6 ecoboost engine.

LINCOLN AVIATOR CONCEPT FIRST LOOK: SUV IS BACK ON NEW REAR-DRIVE PLATFORM

Aviator fills gap between midsize Nautilus and large Navigator

Lincoln brings back the Aviator name on a new three-row SUV that owes its name to the past but which telegraphs the future of Lincoln with a plug-in hybrid powertrain and riding on a new rear-wheel-drive platform.

Ford’s luxury brand last offered the Aviator from the 2003 to 2005 model years as a body-on-frame SUV. Since it was discontinued, Lincoln has had a hole in its utility lineup between the five-passenger Nautilus (formerly the MKX) and the large Navigator SUV.

https://st.motortrend.com/uploads/si...around 660:439

74 PHOTOSThis time around the Aviator is not body-on-frame but rides on the automaker’s all-new and much anticipated rear-wheel-drive platform shared with the next-generation Explorer, but the two will look nothing alike. The platform was designed for all-wheel drive and is flexible enough to accommodate front-wheel drive. This is the first vehicle on the platform. Not all Lincolns will be rear-drive in the future, though, said Scott Tobin, Lincoln director of product development.

The Aviator concept unveiled at the New York auto show previews the production model that will go on sale next year. Officials are not narrowing timing down further, nor are they saying whether it will be a 2019 or 2020 model year.

The look is tapered with a fast-fall roofline and sculpted sides to mimic a bird in flight, said Design Director David Woodhouse. The grille design has been refined and is more upright. The concept rides on 22-inch wheels. Woodhouse wanted a sanctuary feel and a contrast to the “visual attack from the competition” with vehicles he describes as full of masculinity and aggression. He sees the Aviator as the design that best personifies the evolution of the brand that is slowly working to rebuild itself.

https://st.motortrend.com/uploads/si...around 150:150Inside there is a new steering wheel, a 30-way adjustable driver’s seat with an improved massage, and a 12-inch standard cluster display. The dual cockpit look has been replaced with a single flowing cockpit that appears more spacious, including a large flow-through storage area under the center stack. Wireless phone charging is located in the front armrest, near a bin to store phones and other devices. There are multiple power outlets are located throughout the cabin and standard Wi-Fi.

Putting it on a rear-wheel-drive platform with a long wheelbase allows for larger second and third rows, said Tobin. The Aviator is 10 inches longer than the Nautilus and 10 inches shorter than the Navigator.

The Aviator will be offered with a twin-turbocharged engine—officials are not saying if it is the 2.7-liter V-6—with a plug-in hybrid option making it Lincoln’s first PHEV. The Ford brand has two plug-ins—the Fusion and the C-Max—but they do not pair with turbocharged gasoline engines. No figures are being released, but Tobin is pleased with the performance the Aviator can achieve, especially in Sport mode, as well as its efficiency in an eco mode.

In the past Lincoln has offered hybrids for the same sticker price as conventional gasoline engines. Officials have not determined the pricing strategy for the more expensive plug-in hybrid technology, but Robert Parker, director of marketing, sales, and service, said it is unlikely to be a single price.

https://st.motortrend.com/uploads/si...around 660:439

74 PHOTOSThe combination of extra power and the ability to run in electric mode complement the image the automaker is trying to create with the Lincoln brand, said Joy Falotico, the new president of Lincoln Motor Company, after an executive shuffle after North American president Raj Nair was terminated and replaced by former Lincoln chief Kumar Galhotra.

The continuously controlled damping system adds a camera so the vehicle can spot potholes and other surface irregularities to prepare the suspension for the impact, a system called Suspension Preview Technology, and a first for Lincoln.

The emphasis on tech starts with the key fob—there doesn’t have to be one. Owners can use their smartphone as a key. It can lock and unlock, open the trunk, and start and drive the vehicle without a key fob. Phone as a Key can be used to find the Aviator in a parking lot. Should the phone battery go dead, a backup pass code can be entered on the standard exterior keypad to gain access, then clients can start and proceed to drive the vehicle via the center touchscreen.

Reverse Brake Assist will stop if an obstacle is detected while backing up.

Ford says the Aviator competes in the medium luxury SUV segment that accounts for one in four premium SUV sales—more than 585,000 last year.

Lincoln, like the Ford brand, is skewing to utility vehicles for the bulk of its portfolio. The Ford brand will have 86 percent of its portfolio in trucks and SUVs by 2020. Lincoln has not had a pickup since the Blackwood, which was sold for a single model year in 2002, and the Mark LT, sold from 2005 to 2008.

Both brands will also increase electrification with all core vehicles to be offered with a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or both. Lincoln could help distinguish itself by offering a degree of electrification in all its future vehicles.

74 PHOTOSFord’s only luxury brand also wants to set itself apart by offering more services, from concierge services to finding a nearby gas station when the tank is low to pick-up when the vehicle needs to go in for service to make the lives of its buyers easier.

Lincoln is launching a luxury subscription pilot service in parts of California. Drivers can lease a used 2017 Lincoln vehicle on a monthly basis, expanding the program that was making 2015 Lincolns available to subscribers. The monthly payment includes a mileage package, insurance, warranty, maintenance, and roadside assistance.

Other services include Lincoln Personal Driver in San Diego, Miami, and soon Dallas, which provides someone to drive you in your own vehicle or use your vehicle to run errands for you.

Click-to-Purchase is an online program to buy or lease a vehicle at a negotiated price that is good for 48 hours. The program will be available throughout the U.S. by the end of the year.https://st.motortrend.com/uploads/si...around 150:150

Agreed, looks near production ready.
Assuming this is a MKT replacement-ish? Only a few tiny things I don't care for. Release it as is, without the plug-in bit. I think the 2.7TT would be sufficient for it, definitely plenty for the F150.

I know the 2.7T would probably be enough but with the 3.5T and a stage 1 tuning package you could have an SUV that looks that nice and puts down 420hp.

Unless they're trying to keep off of the Navigator's toes, with it having the 3.5TT

3.5TT Navigator
2.7TT Aviator
2.0T Nautilus

Except the Nautilus also offers the 2.7TT and you’re forgetting about the MKC which offers both the 2.0T and the 2.3T. I think the Nautilus should offer the 3.5TT to differentiate it from the Edge and there is no problem with the Aviator having the 3.5T because think about it this way, both the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport offer the 5.0 Superchaged engine and I would say if you want a sport you get a sport and if you want the full size you get it. Offering the same engine won’t necessarily lead to cannabalism.

Not bad at all. It has a fair chance of success.

People aren't buying the Navi for the engine, they are buying for the incredible amount of space. I'd wager that this will come with 2.7T as standard and 3.5T as optional (or on higher trims) similar to the way the Exploder does things. I also expect the Exploder to drop the NA V6 in the next model iteration and stick with the 2.3T and 3.5T.

Unrelated to this particular model, but my wife and I saw a Lincoln MKT earlier today. Holy fuck, that thing is disgustingly awful looking; we both thought it looked like a hearse. :whyme:

Ths MKT has to be the single ugliest car I have ever seen in my life. I still don’t know what the fuck Lincoln was thinking with that. There is not one fucking angle or panel or part at which it looks flattering. It absolutely looks like a hearse. I think the only thing keeping it alive is that it is used a lot as a higher end driver/taxi service vehicle. The interior might be the only thing about it that is somewhat ok.

If I had to choose between a rendevouz, MKT, and P.T Cruiser I would pick between the cruiser and P.T. The MKT is just disgusting. Shame on anyone who bought one new....they are a steal on the used market though. I wonder why.

imj0257 04-02-2018 08:35 PM

 It is definitely in the running for ugliest car ever. With the PT Cruiser and Pontiac Aztec... IMO.

CCColtsicehockey 04-03-2018 06:28 AM

I still think Pontiac holds the title but I think Lincoln took over second place from the PT Cruiser with the MKT.

00TL-P3.2 04-03-2018 09:14 AM

 I'd easily take an MKT over a PT Cruiser, Aztek or Murano Cabrio. But, I also have a Flex
I'd definitely have a 3.5TT Flex over the MKT.

The Aviator > all of the above, if it comes out looking 95% like this.

Ok so maybe I was pushing it a little far there hehe. I would drive the MKT over those other two just because it’s way more modern, better built, more comfortable...etc. But it’s by far uglier than those other two is what I was trying to say. I’d be equally embarrassed driving any of those 3.

Nothing about that “concept” is really over the top or dramatic just like the RDX prototype was basically the production model and Lincoln is pretty good at staying close to concept form. What is most interesting is that Ford now has a RWD unibody platform to use for this Aviator which means the next gen explorer may also be RWD based again...really opens up the possibilities.

ThermonMermon 04-04-2018 03:57 AM

All these new, big price tag suvs are reminding me of pre recession days when people were spending wildly on expensive trucks and tricking them out. “I put Lamborghini doorsss on my esco-laaade”

Looks amazing however the photos are probably of the black label, which will be what? 80-100k? The black label Navi I think is like 115 w options. Are they stunning cars with ground breaking interiors (for Lincoln) yes. Are they now comptetitive with RR, yes. Would I take this over an RR at that pice level? Probably not.

they are overbuilding the luxouriousness, by Lincoln standards, which is okay for the navigator black series since that degree of luxury simply isn’t offered in such a large car. However, the aviator starts to overlap with many other choices at that price range.

Thing looks great. Hopefully the next gen Explorer looks good.

The New Lincoln Aviator Kneels To Greet Its Passengers

We know that the new Lincoln Aviator is packed with heaps of state-of-the-art technologies, but the kneel-to-greet feature is one particularly worthy of our attention.

That’s because the Adaptive Suspension in the 2020 Aviator will kneel to greet its passengers – much like a kneeling bus. And it does this automatically. The kneeling feature adds a new level of sophistication to Lincoln’s signature welcome lighting embrace that makes the drive and passengers feel that much more special when approaching and entering the vehicle.

Now, there will definitely be those who might see the Aviator’s kneel-to-greet feature as a party trick, but it is so much more than that – since it allows for easier entry and exit, plus easier access for loading and unloading cargo. In an era of large CUVs and SUVs, this is definitely a welcome feature, and an advantage.

But that’s just the beginning of what the Adaptive Suspension in the new Lincoln Aviator is capable of. For instance, the full-size crossover offers several Lincoln drive modes that adjust the vehicle’s ride, handling and powertrain response characteristics to the prevailing weather conditions. The 2020 Aviator features five drive modes – Normal, Conserve, Excite, Slippery and Deep Conditions. Meanwhile, the Aviator Grand Touring includes two additional setting – Pure EV and Preserve EV – that are meant specifically for its behavior of the hybrid-electric drivetrain.

When Deep Conditions mode is selected, the new Lincoln Aviator increases the ground clearance to its highest position to deliver utmost capability. But once speeds exceed 70 mph, the ride is automatically lowered to a height optimal for efficiency and handling at higher speeds.

The new Lincoln Aviator is promising to be quite the marvel, and we can’t wait to drive it.

The Lincoln brand is back with a vengeance with new products like the Navigator, Corsair, and the upcoming Aviator. Lincoln hopes the Aviator will shake up the midsize luxury SUV segment and, so far, the specifications are looking optimal to do so. Pricing for the Aviator tops out at around $90,000 but starts at a more reasonable $52,195. The price is even more impressive when you consider the new Cadillac XT6, which is front-wheel-drive, is actually more expensive.

Lincoln's main rival from America continued to disappoint when the EPA revealed the fuel economy ratings for the XT6. Now the EPA has revealed the numbers for the Aviator and a direct comparison can be drawn.

So far, the EPA has only revealed ratings for the standard Aviator, so the figures for the upcoming hybrid model are still unknown. With its base 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, the Aviator achieves 18/26/21 mpg city/highway/combined with RWD or 17/24/20 with AWD. Based on these numbers, the Aviator just edges out the XT6 in FWD form (rated at 18/25/20 with FWD) and ties it in AWD trim.

The victory for Lincoln may seem insignificant but remember, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 in the Aviator produces 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. By comparison, the 3.6-liter V6 in the XT6 only produces 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. Achieving nearly identical fuel economy while also producing 90 more hp and 129 extra lb-ft of torque is a major accomplishment for Lincoln.

What's more, the base Aviator is not the most powerful drivetrain and it likely won't be the most fuel efficient. Lincoln will pair the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with a hybrid drivetrain, producing a total output of 450 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. The Aviator hybrid has the potential to offer even better fuel economy while also offering more performance.

:what: Impressive MPG for a 400/400 SUV.

At the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Lincoln is displaying a special Aviator concept that was created in collaboration with the Detroit-based Shinola brand of watches and accessories. The SUV features unique exterior design elements, but the most eye-catching aspects are found in the cabin.

The interior is awash in Shinola's whiskey-colored leather, which for once in an automobile actually looks like real cowhide. The rich, brown hue contrasts sharply with off-white cloth seat inserts and more off-white on the dash and door panels. Tying the two colors together is a neat center stripe on the seats that is another Shinola signature design element. The dash and center console also are adorned with a metal mesh trim, said to be inspired by Shinola watch bands.

The exterior, meanwhile, is finished in pearl white, similar to Shinola's mother of pearl watch faces. The wheels and grille insert are matte copper.

For now, the Aviator Shinola concept is just a design exercise. But a good portion of the Lincoln brand's recent comeback can be attributed to its emphasis on interior design, and specifically, an imaginative use of color and materials. So, we could see Lincoln making a collaboration like this official. After all, they've done it before. A Shinola Aviator is just the hipper, modern version of the same idea that sold the Continental Mark V back in the day, as the commercial below reminds us.

Hideous interior, IMO :ugh:
Think bronze would've looked better than copper on the exterior.

The new 2025 Lincoln Aviator® SUV combines elevated design and connected experiences including the all-new Lincoln Digital Experience and BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology, available on Aviator for the first time.

Lincoln enhances its popular three-row SUV by showcasing the brand's evolved design language and focusing on signature features and connected experiences. The 2025 Lincoln Aviator now wears a bold new face, with an updated grille, headlamps and available sequentially animated daytime running lamp light strips - all contributing to the vehicle's confident and commanding stance.

Aviator helped evolve the Lincoln lineup when it was introduced in 2019 with elegant and dynamic styling, attracting new clients to the brand.

"With the new Aviator, technology takes an even larger role in helping create a relaxing, luxurious space that our clients have come to appreciate and expect from Lincoln. With advanced, connected features like the Lincoln Digital Experience and BlueCruise hands-free driving technology, we are creating a new, digital sanctuary on the road." - Heidi Shaffer, director, Lincoln

Connected Sanctuary

Aviator brings together thoughtful design, attention to detail and new connected technologies.

Effortless Experiences

Lincoln Digital Experience and hands-free highway driving with available Lincoln BlueCruise handsfree highway driving technology elevate life's journeys.

Understated Elegance

Lincoln Black Label Aviator Invitation theme gives clients an elegant new design option.

Enhance your drive

The all-new Lincoln Digital Experience enables clients to access their favorite apps and services from Google and Amazon through the new integrated native experience, as well as with Apple CarPlay® powered by iPhone, and Android Auto ™ using a compatible Android ™ device.

From the moment clients enter their Aviator, it becomes a personalized experience, with their favorite apps and content easily displayed front and center to help make time behind the wheel more enjoyable, even when parked. Plus, Aviator features an easy-to-control and larger 13.2-inch touchscreen over the center stack and a new 12.4-inch digital cluster screen.

Designed to prioritize the use of voice, customers can select either the Google Assistant or Alexa invehicle controls such as to set in-vehicle temperature, search information, find and set a destination and request a specific broadcast or satellite radio station. They can also help with making calls, sending texts, setting a meeting, or controlling connected home devices. When using CarPlay, Siri voice control is specially designed for driving scenarios, like announcing or making calls, responding to messages using just voice, playing music, or sharing an ETA while navigating with Apple Maps.

Getting around town is simple, using integrated Google Maps for real-time traffic, road conditions, dynamic and eco-friendly routes and points of interest, it is also displayed on both the touchscreen and the digital cluster.

The Lincoln Digital Experience connects to the client's digital life to make the cabin more personalized. Clients can enjoy streaming music, audiobooks, and podcasts using entertainment apps downloaded on Google Play, including Spotify, Amazon Music, Audible, and iHeartRadio, as well as embedded SiriusXM with 360L for a personalized listening experience so they are always available in the vehicle, regardless of whether a smartphone is connected in the vehicle.

While parked, clients can surf the web using the available Vivaldi Browser app - as well as Chrome coming soon in Beta - including a Bluetooth-connected keyboard to make typing easier. Clients can also watch videos and stream their favorite movies when parked with apps such as YouTube, Prime Video and more to stay entertained. To stay productive on the go and never miss a work call, clients can stay connected with leading video conferencing apps coming soon, which enable audio access while driving and display the incoming video feed of participants while parked.

5G wireless technology brings incredibly fast connectivity and with a Lincoln Premium Connectivity plan, it will provide the best possible in-vehicle experience. It is also designed to enable more new apps and services in the future thanks to over-the-air software update capability, which will help make the Aviator better over time.

Aviator comes standard with Lincoln Co-Pilot 360® 2.1, a suite of driver-assist features that includes Evasive Steering Assist, Lane-Keeping System with Blind Spot Information System, and Lincoln Co-Pilot360 2.1 Vision, which includes a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and Reverse Brake Assist.

Other convenience features include the wireless charging pad for compatible mobile phones newly located in the front-row center media bin, making it easier for our clients to stay charged. Multiple power outlets and USB capability in all three rows keep occupants connected wherever the journey may take them.

Hands-free highway driving

Aviator clients will be able to experience the ease of hands-free highway driving with BlueCruise. With BlueCruise assisting with the braking, accelerating and steering, it takes sanctuary to a whole new level, helping reduce some of the stress of driving whether it is a daily commute or a long road trip, allowing clients to arrive to their destination more energized.

The system includes features such as Lane Change Assist, allowing a driver to switch lanes handsfree with the tap of the turn signal when the path is clear and In-Lane Repositioning, which helps provide more space by subtly shifting away from vehicles in adjacent lanes.

A feature for the first time on Aviator, BlueCruise is standard on all models with four years of handsfree highway driving at vehicle purchase. With the addition of Aviator, BlueCruise is now available across the entire Lincoln portfolio.

A new level of sophistication

The 2025 Lincoln Aviator wears a powerful and confident new face, with an updated contoured mesh grille inspired by the Lincoln logo. The grille has been raised slightly so that its top edge aligns with the newly designed LED headlamps.

The headlamps and daytime running lamp strips accentuate the width of the vehicle, fronted by the Lincoln Star™ at the center of the grille. The light strips use available sequential animations to welcome an Aviator owner via Lincoln Embrace as they approach the vehicle and reverses the lighting sequence to put the vehicle to sleep when it is powered off.

The Illumination Package, now standard on Reserve and Lincoln Black Label models, includes an illuminated Lincoln star on the grille, adaptive pixel LED headlamps, speed dependent lighting, adaptive bending lighting, and Lincoln dynamic signature lighting with LED daytime running lamps. Aviator introduces two new exterior color options for Lincoln Black Label models, including Cenote Green and Whisper Blue Metallic.

"The new Aviator looks more planted with a more dynamic presence than ever before. The changes we made to our signature grille shows our laser-focus on details and design that pulls you in. And with our new lighting features which we call 'jewelry,' the Lincoln star comes to life and immediately catches your attention." - Kemal Curic, design director, Lincoln

More personalization and choice

The new Jet Package, available on all trims, features unique wheels for each series. Premiere models get 21-inch bright-machined aluminum wheels with dark alloy-painted pockets, Reserve models get 22-inch black aluminum wheels, and Lincoln Black Label models get 22-inch Ebony black bright-machined wheels. Aviator Reserve models will offer four new interior color schemes: Onyx, Light Space Gray, Harvest Bronze with Onyx accents, and Hot Chocolate with Onyx accents.

Two new wheel designs

Standard - 20-inch bright machined aluminum wheel with Magnetic-painted pockets.

Available - 22-inch Ebony Black bright machined aluminum wheel with gloss black-painted pockets and center cap.

An Invitation to elegance

New for 2025, Aviator clients can opt for the Lincoln Black Label Invitation theme. A reinterpretation of the design theme that has been popular with Navigator® clients - the Black Onyx leather seating surfaces provides a sense of intrigue, with the quality of a crafted black paper invitation - handwritten calligraphy that welcomes you to an exquisite home for an intimate evening of celebration.

Featuring open-pore Khaya wood across the instrument panel and center console top panel finish, Invitation showcases dual-laser-etched shapes, rich wood and supple Black Onyx leather seating surfaces. Abstract branches are delicately balanced through gradated trellis structures. A pergolainspired perforation appears on Savannah luxury leather seating surfaces in black, with detailed Brandy-colored stitching.

The popular Lincoln Black Label Flight theme continues in the 2025 model year, harmoniously combining a Luggage Tan and Ebony color scheme with dark full engine turn appliqués that replicate the finish of early flight instrument panels.

An immersive audio experience

The true experience of Aviator is leaving the day-to-day pressures behind and entering a soothing sanctuary. The vehicle's spacious, airy cabin accentuates horizontal lines, minimizing visual clutter and offering a relaxing ambiance.

Lincoln Aviator will continue to offer the available Revel® Ultima 3D Audio System, which features 28 speakers that envelop each occupant in rich, precise, and multidimensional sound. Paired with the available 30-Way Perfect Position Front Seats, Aviator creates a premium, concert-like experience on the road. Second-row passengers now have the power to control sound with the rear audio control screen.

Looks nice. Clean lines. I like the version with no chrome. But what's the price?

00TL-P3.2 02-06-2024 01:04 PM

The 2024 ranges $54k-95k
I'd expect a mild increase, but not a ton.

The 2025 Aviator will go on sale later this year, and it won't be cheap. The entry-level Aviator Premiere starts at $58,495 – a year-over-year jump of $5,155. Mid-level Reserve starts at $67,495, while the range-topping Black Label is $86,995. Fully optioned with the mandatory $1,395 destination charge added in, the Aviator nears $100,000.
So, about $4k more, or so.

SamDoe1 02-07-2024 09:59 AM

100k for a mid size Lincoln? Woof.
