Thats too good to be true that the IS350 is only $39K, is that fully loaded w/navi?
Cause the IS250 AWD fully loaded is around almost $36K, which is a ripoff to me.

The IS is a quick car in a straight line, but it doesn't look like Lexus could engineer a chassis/suspension to compete with the 330i.

not at all. test drive one, the suspension is WAY too soft for its size. oh, and the size, pathetic in my opinion.

Base for the IS250 is $34,875... http://lexus.com/models/is/price_options.html

Lexus vehicles don't come "fully loaded" at a base price (like acuras). Everything is ala carte...

The AWD base costs are deceiving because the AWD package includes some of the luxury items (perforated leather-trimmed interior upgrade with heated and ventilated front seats and wood trim) that you have to pay for separetely on other IS models (like on IS350 base)...

I've spent some time on Club Lexus recently, and there's alot of research that has to be done because of the RWD/AWD 250/350 sport/luxury navi/non-navi, ML edition, etc combinations that can be configured into an IS...

Give the 350 coupe a stick and I'll take it over a BMW.

Check out the license plate "WAQ"

That about sums up the exhaust on that CGI.

Lexus is just plain ripoff to me, I'd rather buy a G35 coupe next gen coming out , Acura RL, or just give me the real deal and get a BMW 330 if it's the same price.

Its a little dull in comparison to Infinitis coupe concept, hopefully lexus will give the coupe a more unique styling to seperate it a little from the sedan.

They need to spice the coupe up. It just looks like an IS sedan without two extra doors.

Nice, but they’ll probably screw up the tranny options like they did on the 4-door.
If you want a 6-Cylinder or 4WD you’re stuck with a slushbox.

i like it
I won't like it if the only offer th V6 with a slushbox. That would be unacceptable.
Otherwise, i like the way the lines flow in this car. I think the front end looks aggressive. I don't like that 3 center pipe exhaust thing.

x 3

IMHO, Infiniti's g35 coupe concept will be the best GT coming out (at least around 42k). Mind you if the production version remains 99% as shown. I could do without the side mirror cameras, but the updated fascia and interior is a must. I might be able to look past the odd tail lights and exhaust, will have to see it in person. But definitely like that door crease.

In fact I'm set to trade out the TSX for it, unless BMW's 335 coupe is a turbo...

You guys and your Lexus hating. Took my friends dad's rl for an 35 min drive and was very disappointed. handled well, but felt slow and very heavy. We parked in a parking lot and happend to park next to an odyssey and the fronts were too similar. My friend who pointed it out. (he got a g35 and is planning to get a new IS he wanted him to get an m45 or gs430) G35 is a good alternative and cheaper. Fully loaded its 40,000 (not as well equiped as the bmw or lexus, close though) The 330 fully loaded is over $55,000, for an IS350 is $48,000 (equiped the same as BMW with a little more like a dvd audio/video 5.1 surround Mark Lev audio). Not to mention. My friend who has a shop said lexus is the best built car. If you look at a 5yr old lexus from Underneath it looks like it does the 1st yr. A 3yr BMW like an 10yr old lexus. He had an M3 sold it and got a gs430. I guess if you keep the bmw for 4yr and no more your good.

I've driven both 3 and IS back to back and the 3 does have a little better road feel but it really does not justify the price dif and quality dif and much better service. I have to say The IS is a fun car too. ( the most fun lexus yet)
And I've read a few articles once you disable the IS 350 VSC it transforms the car in to a real performer.
Keep in mind My family has owned MB( 2 S class), BMWs (two 3series , four 7 series), audi (one A4), Acura ( 1 Integra and 1 CL type S) and Lexus(3 LS, 1 ES, and 1 LX) I have to say Lexus has been the most trouble free car and had the best servcie out of them all.

Going back ON TOPIC ... the CGI of this coupe seems in line with the whole Lexus namesake ... not too flashy (ie understated) but sporty. Has L-finesse lines to it. I would guess that the coupe will make an appearance at the next Tokyo Autoshow. The IS sedan came out this year ... Lexus would want to spread out the 'new' introductions at least a year apart (just like BMW...)

In Japan and Europe they had a 4-cylinder model. Anyone know if the current one will have a 4 over seas?

There are no plans for it. Lexus won't have a sub 200HP, I4 model. The 2.5L V6 @200HP @ right under $30K is as low as they'll be going with the IS.

I mean come on you're not agreeing that it's a ripoff? The base price of the coupe will still be higher than probably a well equiped G35 coupe, loaded M35, and a fully equiped Acura TL and almost the price of an RL. I drove the IS 250 and 350 at a Lexus event and the size of the car doesn't justify it's price. It performs well, but give me the GS300/430 instead. BMW to me is still BMW and the 330 is about the same in price of the IS. If the Lexus IS and the BMW 330 are the same price I would buy the BMW because it's a German car and no one can say oh it's just a luxury toyota, luxury honda, or luxury nissan, it's a BMW. Even Mercedes now, I mean it's still a Mercedes, but they're going to say it's a luxury Chrysler. All in all, it's still a luxury Toyota, with a bit of a lot of people agree on this board, the IS looks a little bit like a Scion Tc, from certain aspects.

is the 330 bigger than the IS? if so, it wouldn't b by much....also, of course toyota/lexus are gonna share some similar styling....much like accord and RL...but u can't say the IS350 for $40k with navi is not a good deal...i'd say that's a way better deal than any 330

i used to not like lexus as much as the next guy...but now they're moving in a good direction...aiming at better targets...my only beef is the GS being 300 and not 350

Considering Toyota went to the trouble to make the Solara a different style than the 4 door, I think they would do the same for the IS.
