Lambo's painted an Aventador SV in Viola, and it's up for sale...

Oh my word. This is a Lamborghini Aventador SV in Viola, and we’d excuse you if you need to have a little sit down. It’s quite a thing, isn’t it?

Viola is a key colour in Lambo history, of course. Nip back a couple of decades and one of the Aventador’s boldest ancestors – the almighty Diablo – was painted this very colour. This is Lambo’s not-particularly-retro take on retro, and we like it.

That specific Diablo was an SE30, a rear-drive, 523bhp version of the slightly demonic Diablo. Its performance figures – 0-60mph in 4.0secs, 210mph top speed – might not look particularly staggering nowadays. But you’ll be aiming for them with a hefty manual gearchange and without any fancy driver aids. Good luck, basically…

The Aventador’s stats are clearly from a different era. Like the Diablo SE30, it uses a naturally aspirated V12, but this one produces 740bhp. Pushed through all four wheels via a paddleshift gearbox and many clever systems, it achieves 0-60mph in 2.8secs on its way towards (then probably past) 217mph.

We’ve got a simpler, and perhaps more pressing comparison for you, though. Scroll the pictures above and tell us – which wears Viola better?

By the way, if your answer is ‘Aventador’, you can buy this one from Lamborghini Montreal for a mere £470,000…

From here: https://www.supercars.net/blog/lambo...j-63-roadster/

At The Quail in Monterey, California, Lamborghini unveiled a special 63 edition roadster of the Aventador SVJ. Only 63 of the cars will be made. The 63 is significant to Lamborghini due to the fact that the company started in 1963. The car is special not only because of the fact that so few will be made, but also because there will be eight different designs used for the paint and exterior and interior elements.

The car that was shown at The Quail featured a matt grey Grigio Acheso paint job and orange Arancio Dac accents. The 63 Roadster comes with a slew of carbon fiber accents and components inside and out. The cabin is fitted with plenty of Alcantara and Lamborghini’s patented CarbonSkin.

The roof, engine cover, air vents, rim around the windscreen, and the side mirrors are all made of carbon fiber, according to GTSpirit. Other than the unique exterior and interior components, the car is an SVJ Roadster. It gets Lamborghini’s V12 engine that puts out 770 hp and about 531 lb-ft of torque. This makes the car good for a 0-60 mph time of just 2.9 seconds. It has a top speed of over 217 mph.

Automobili Lamborghini has created a new virtual Ad Personam studio, offering consultation sessions to clients worldwide who want to personalize their new Lamborghini without travelling to the Ad Personam specialist department in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.

From July 2020 clients can pre-book an initial consultation of around two hours via their dealership, either joining their sales specialist at the showroom or from another location, for their dedicated session with Lamborghini's specialists surrounded by the extensive Ad Personam options on display. A video call will be supported with the relevant model in the Ad Personam studio, and live design proposals and configuration suggestions from the Ad Personam team, using smartphones for walkarounds and to see close-up details. The virtual consultation is followed up with full proposals sent to the client, including renderings and even material samples.

"Lamborghini is always thinking dynamically about the best solutions to challenges, and our new virtual Ad Personam studio consultations have been carefully devised to support clients who, in times where we are all cautious about international travel, still want the special, one-to-one experience of creating an entirely personalized car," said Giovanni Perosino, Chief Commercial Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. "We still look forward to welcoming clients to Sant' Agata Bolognese in the future but we expect more than 150 Ad Personam consultations to take place virtually within this year, and continuing as an option for the future. With the support of our dealers worldwide, who also have significant personalization experience and of course, samples and materials in their own dealerships, we have the exciting opportunity in an increasingly digital age to create one-off Lamborghini models virtually."

In celebration of the new Ad Personam facility, Lamborghini announces the Aventador SVJ Xago special edition: a car produced in just ten units and reserved for clients specifying their Aventador SVJ virtually. Inspired by the hexagon cloud shapes at the North Pole on the planet Saturn and the strength of the hexagon in nature, the Xago celebrates the iconic 'hexagonita' theme in Lamborghini design.

The exterior of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Xago edition features a specially-created fading hexagonal silver effect, with a unique Ad Personam contrast color livery for each car and gloss black Nireo Ad Personam rims. The interior features an exclusive seat pattern with hexagonita theme, and special contrast color matching the exterior. Each of the ten Aventador SVJ Xago models will be identified by a numbered plate.

Automobili Lamborghini launched its Ad Personam program in 2013 and opened its Ad Personam studio in 2016. Now more than 50% of Lamborghini cars coming off the production line feature at least one Ad Personam detail: a percentage that has tripled over the last three years, with the USA, Asia and UK the biggest markets.

https://www.netcarshow.com/lamborghi...780-4_ultimae/

Automobili Lamborghini announced the Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae: a celebration of the iconic V12 super sports car and combustion engine in a final production model, concentrating the purest features of all Aventador editions into a perfect finale. The Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 harnesses the performance of the SVJ and intensifies the sophisticated elegance of the Aventador S, converging design and dynamism into a decisive collector's piece in both coupé and roadster forms.

"The Aventador LP780-4 denotes the final, purest, timeless naturally-aspirated production V12 Lamborghini," says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. "It delivers the essential twelve-cylinder experience in terms of inimitable design, engineering solutions and the most emotive driving experience, and is the definitive Aventador concluding an extraordinary era. It is the last of its kind: it delivers the maximum power and conclusive performance expected from Lamborghini's current V12 engine, combined with our inimitable flagship's design DNA. The Aventador was destined to become a classic from launch, and the Aventador LP780-4 is the most beautiful expression of timeless design and technical solutions in a final edition: Ultimae."

After more than a year where events worldwide were cancelled due to the pandemic, the Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae coupe and roadster will be displayed at the UK's 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed in front of automotive enthusiasts and owners.

Power and performance

The Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae's elegant lines belie the performance of this final edition. The twelve-cylinder, 6.5-liter 'Longitudinale Posteriore' (LP) engine delivers 780 CV: 40 CV more than the Aventador S and 10 CV over the SVJ to its permanent four-wheel drive. The LP780-4 Ultimae celebrates the visceral character, power and performance of the Lamborghini's Aventador's ten-year evolution, including the know-how of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife record SVJ powertrain set in July 2018; the super sports technical advances and luxury of the S mode; and the purity of the original Aventador concept. It is the grand finale of the traditional V12 combustion engine, and the ultimate Aventador in every sense.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4's unique, extremely rigid and lightweight carbon fiber monocoque, and extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the body, contributes to its dry weight of just 1,550 kg. The coupé version, weighing 25 kg less than the Aventador S, delivers the same weight-to-power ratio as the SVJ at 1.98 kg/CV accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 355 km/h, with 720 Nm of torque at maximum 6750 rpm, and optimized VVT (Variable Valve Timing) and VIS (Variable Intake System) for an optimised torque curve. Its CCB braking system delivers 100 km/h to standstill in just 30 m.

Lateral control is optimized through four-wheel steering, introduced on the Aventador S, ensuring agility at low and medium speeds and enhanced stability at high speed. Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) on the front axle is calibrated for responsive feedback with sharp turn-in while adapted to integrate with the active rear-wheel steering on the rear axle: separate actuators respond in five milliseconds to drivers' steering movements, allowing a real-time adjustment to steering angles enhancing cornering properties.

The LP780-4 Ultimae's design adopts a specific front bumper concept for increased aero load on the front, with longitudinal performance similar to the SVJ. The ESC is calibrated for fast, precise traction control and vehicle dynamics, recognizing and adapting to differences in grip, including on low-grip surfaces such as snow and ice. The permanent four-wheel drive, due to the rear-wheel steering, is calibrated to allow more torque to the rear axle so that when powering off, less torque is shifted to the front axle to allow sporty but safe over-steer behavior. The systems are managed by Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva (LDVA) that processes precise, real-time information on body motion via sensors, thus defining the best response of all active systems to deliver the best vehicle dynamics in every condition.

Delivering the state of the art aerodynamic performance, the front splitter and open 'mouth' of the LP780-4 directs additional airflow to optimize aerodynamic efficiency, engine and radiator cooling. The front bumper's airducts and side cooling inlet reduce aerodynamic interference from the front tires and optimize wake flow to the rear radiator, with the Ultimae's lightweight rear bumper completing the dynamic exterior and celebrating the SVJ's track-oriented heritage.

The active aero system's rear wing moves into three positions - closed, 'maximum performance' and 'maximum handling' - dependent on speed and the drive mode selected, optimizing the car's overall balance and working with vortex generators created in the front and rear of the chassis' underside to maximize air flow and assist with brake cooling. Transmission is via Lamborghini's lightweight Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) 7-speed shifting system, providing robotized gearshifts in up to 50 milliseconds.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae's drive modes allow the pilot to select not only STRADA, SPORT and CORSA dynamic options, but in EGO mode choose their own parameters for optimum set-up of the Lamborghini active suspension (LMS), traction controls (engine, gearbox and four-wheel drive) as well as steering.

A final production masterpiece - Ultimae

The Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae celebrates the Lamborghini Aventador's complex yet elegant lines and surfaces: the culmination of Lamborghini's aspirated-V12 design legacy. Paying homage to the benchmark performance of the SVJ and the ageless super sports elegance of the S model, it takes the best components of both to create a perfect balance between performance and dynamism with an enduring sophistication.

A new palette of options for exterior and interior is created for owners of the 350 coupés and 250 roadsters numbered editions of the Ultimae, offering a refined yet dynamic, elegant yet distinctive representation of the last Aventador. Its silhouette, clean and unfettered, is as recognizable and timeless an outline as other V12 Lamborghini classics such as Countach, Diablo and Murciélago. The new collection of tone-on-tone colors are elegant while recalling the Aventador's powerful original design cues taken from the world of aeronautics. Offered as standard are 18 colors, with an unprecedented range of options and more than 300 colors available through Lamborghini Ad Personam, allowing owners to create their own, unique piece of Lamborghini V12 motoring history.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae coupé is launched in a two-tone, grey-on-grey configuration, with lines and details such as the front splitter's outline and 'teeth' picked out in matt red Rosso Mimir, with the accent line continuing along the car with matching accents on the rear fins of the visible carbon fiber rear diffuser: elite performance and design purity in perfect harmony. On the Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae Roadster, the roof is also offered in visible carbon fiber.

The matt Grigio Acheso and Grigio Teca external colors' elegant yet sporty two-tone is echoed in the interior: black leather and Alcantara base materials feature stitching and trim in a complementary grey to the exterior, with 'Y' seat inserts in black Alcantara. An optional laser cut 'Y' repeat motif with contrast backing color on seats and dashboard, distinguishes the Ultimae model: a dynamic, stylistic feature offered for the first time. The LP780-4's comfort seat is taken from the Aventador S, with the 'Ultimae' name embroidered into the seat bolster, while the A-pillar driver dashboard area carries the 001 of 350/250 reference to the limited edition.

The client can play with the 'S' line highlights in seat, door and dash trims with three standard colors, (silver, bronze and white), a further five foptional colors and, of course, the almost infinite spectrum of options through Lamborghini Ad Personam. A standard carbon fiber package CFK highlights exterior and interior features, and the exterior is available in a matt finish to match the exterior colors with low gloss.

Silver Dianthus 20" and 21" forged alloys come as standard together with further 20" and 21" options in Dianthus, Leiron and Nireo in bronze, black and titanium, fitted with Pirelli PZero Corsa tires. The exterior features the extension of the color accent livery in three colors: white, silver and bronze matching the accent on the front bumpers and the rear diffuser fins. Silver calipers as standard are joined by a range of further optional caliper colors that are echoed in the wheel monolock.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae Roadster is launched in Blu Tawaret and Blu Nethuns with the roof panels in high gloss black carbon fiber.

The driver and passenger environment is just as refined: the customizable TFT digital dashboard displays driver modes as well as controlling in-car connectivity. Apple CarPlay manages voice activated communications and entertainment, with the Lamborghini telemetry system available as an option for those wanting to celebrate the last Aventador on track.

From launch, the Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae will be available in both coupe and roadster configurations in the Lamborghini network with the exception of the markets: Mainland China, South Korea, Vietnam, Brazil and Chile.

Knowing the Italian brands, there will be at least 3-4 more final versions before they finally axe this thing.

https://carbuzz.com/news/lamborghini...-the-aventador

The Lamborghini Aventador is no longer available to order. This Italian supercar, famously named after a Spanish fighting bull, has been around for the better part of a decade, and has been sold in numerous configurations, including the Aventador S, Aventador SVJ, and Aventador Ultimae. The Ultimae is officially the last-ever Aventador, but Lamborghini promised that the V12 engine will survive, and future models such as the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 will make use of hybrid technology. This is truly the end of an era, and it's the last time we'll see an unassisted naturally-aspirated V12 engine do its thing. But Lamborghini is promising big things, and we're excited.

The Aventador, which made its debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, replaced the much-loved Murcielago. After ten years in production, it is set to be replaced by the end of 2022, or early in 2023, and promises an all-new V12 engine mated to a hybrid powertrain of sorts. Lamborghini says that deliveries of the Lamborghini Ultimae will continue up until the end of 2022, but that order books have now officially been closed.

The Aventador was an impressive seller in its time, and sold over 5,000 units of the Aventador LP700-4 Coupe and Roadster between 2011 and 2016 alone, eclipsing Lamborghini's intended production run of 4,000 cars. The LP700-4 was eventually replaced by the Aventador S LP740-4, and was also offered in SV guise between 2015 and 2017, with only 600 hardtops, and 500 roadsters.

After 2016 the S trim became the base model, and in 2018 Lamborghini started producing the Aventador SVJ, with only 900 coupes and 800 roadsters being built. Even more special was the SVJ 63 coupe and roadster of which only 63 were made. The final version of the Aventador, the Ultimae, is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 producing 769 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. That's ten more horses than the SVJ. The car weighs only 3,417 thanks to some carbon fiber magic, and will launch to 62 mph in only 2.8 seconds, and hit a top speed of 220 mph. Only 350 coupes, and 100 roadsters will ever see the light of day, with prices starting at close to $600k. We loved the raw and untamed nature of the Aventador, and whatever comes in its place will have big rear tires to fill. Farewell, sweet prince.

The Felicity Ace caught fire on February 16 and sank two weeks later, taking with her around 4,000 cars to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Many of them were high-end vehicles, including out-of-production Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae editions that were said to be irreplaceable. The good news is they are totally replaceable, as confirmed by CEOs of the Volkswagen Group’s premium brands.
7 photos

Automobili Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann attended an online roundtable with journalists from the U.K. and U.S. According to Automotive News, the Italian supercar maker scrambled to replace the $500,000 hand-crafted Aventador Ultimae editions aboard sunken Felicity Ace. This is a given now.

“This was the edition which was closing the production of the Aventador, and there were 15 on board of the ship,” Winkelmann said. “We put our heads together, and luckily, we are able to replace those cars, so there will be no loss for our customers in the U.S. due to the sunken ship. This is good news. And all the rest we are able to replace. The Aventador was tricky, but we made it.”

Two weeks after Felicity Ace sank we learned new details about the cars onboard. Previously information showed there were 85 Lamborghinis there, most of them Urus SUVs. Lamborghini is not the only brand that lost cars in the Felicity Ace fire. Bentley CEO Adrian Hallmark confirmed the brand lost 189 cars, of which more than half will be replaced immediately, with the rest replaceable within six months.

“We've already found a solution for 100 that we can rapidly redirect, and we will catch the others up within six months,” Hallmark said. “We've promised those customers, and we're doing some clever things with dealers to keep [those customers] mobile, which I won't talk about.”

Audi lost the most cars when Felicity Aces sank on March 1st. Audi CEO Markus Duesmann confirmed that around 1,800 cars are now at the bottom of the ocean. All of them should be fairly easy to replace, even though it will take some time.

If life is a Lamborghini Aventador, then the mad king’s lament from That Scottish Play rings true. It has strut and fret its hour upon the stage, and it will soon be heard no more.

Because that sky blue supercar in the gallery below is the last ever Lamborghini Aventador. There’s been lots of talk about the replacement to a car that takes its name, like all good Lambos, after a particularly famous bull. And yet it has become so inextricably linked to Sant’Agata’s modern success – outselling the sum total of all of its previous V12 cars, 11,465 – that its follow-up has big shoes to fill.

Hybrid shoes, if the analogy isn’t too weird. The exiting Aventador takes with it the last ever free-breathing V12 the company will ever build before an electrified powerplant arrives, and you may well work up your own lament to that. “The V12 engine has been part of Lamborghini’s heritage since the company’s earliest days,” explains boss Stephan Winkelmann, “the beating heart of models from Miura to Diablo, Countach to Murcielago.”

Indeed, it was following the Murcielago’s curtain call that the Aventador stepped onto the stage. Unveiled in another dimension commonly known as ‘2011’, the LP 700-4 – longitudinally positioned rear engine, 700 metric horsepower, four-wheel-drive – packed a brand new 6.5-litre V12 that, barring a few changes over the years, survived to this day.

Lamborghini explains the Aventador was a ‘clean-sheet’ car, taking nothing from before other than the notion that, like the Bard’s aforementioned protagonist, it was mad. That ISR gearbox certainly fitted the brief, along with the carbon-fibre monocoque clothed in “complex surfaces” and every angle known to mathematics. With the famous scissor-opening doors, the V12 Aventador was not short of visual drama.

Though owners thought otherwise, with apparently 85 per cent of Aventadors featuring some level of customisation. Lamborghini tells us more than 200 bespoke trims and colours have been cooked up by its Ad Personam department in pursuit of that last tenth of visual madness.

Roadster followed Coupe. Super Veloce trumped them all for a while, featuring more power, more aero, less weight and a Nürburgring time (and video) that cemented the big Lambo’s credentials.

Though, that was just a starter, because the Aventador SVJ improved that ‘Ring time and packed the-then most powerful iteration of the 6.5-litre V12. An even more powerful version sits at the heart of this last car, the 780-4 ‘Ultimae', which is basically a Greatest Hits of Aventador all rolled into one sold-out package.

Aptly named, of course, the ‘Ultimae’, because it means ‘final act’. Though, in this the mad King was wrong. Though it is indeed now just a tale, full of sound and fury, it does signify something…

15 Aventador supercars perished on the Atlantic Ocean when the Felicity Ace caught fire earlier this year. Those were supposed to be the final customer cars of Sant'Agata Bolognese's flagship, so Lamborghini had no other way but to build all of them again. As a matter of fact, the Italian exotic marque lost about 85 vehicles during the fiery incident, with most of them being Urus SUVs. In late September, the very last Aventador was revealed.

An Ultimae Roadster built by the Ad Personam customization division, the Aventador's epilogue was shown only on the assembly line at the factory in Italy. Now, Lamborghini has published a complete photo gallery in which the last of the breed poses next to its source of inspiration. Painted in a bespoke color Azzuro Flake, the droptop V12 machine has been molded after the bite-the-back-of-your-hand beautiful Miura Roadster.

Bertone's one-off was originally unveiled in April 1968 at the Brussels Auto Show but never entered production. The spirit of the Miura P400 Roadster is alive and well here as the Aventador's swan song replicates the livery of its ancestor with Grigio Liqueo and Nero Aldebaran accents for the lower section of the body.

It's the same story on the inside where the Bianco Leda leather upholstery with Nero Aldebaran accents around the headrests is a nod to the late 1960s prototype. Wrapped in Nero Ade Alcantara with Bianco Leda stitching, the dashboard proudly carries a Miura badge you will also find on the outside, specifically on the side rocker.

If you're wondering what happened to the unique Miura Roadster, it was sold to the International Lead and Zinc Research Organization. The new owner swapped out all the parts that could be replaced with components made from zinc or lead. In addition, ILZRO painted the car olive green and gave it a matching green interior.

Renamed ZN 75, it then served as a showcar and was used for promotional purposes around the world, visiting many design centers. It eventually changed hands a few times and returned to its original specification in 2008 when it was exhibited at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in fully restored form. It grabbed second place in the Lamborghini class.

holy cow - I think the Aventador takes the cake for the most milked car in history. Hehe that being said, I still love it, it has aged spectacularly well and still looks good, and this Miura version looks great.

valid point, but no, I think the Aventador takes the cake for most and special and spin-off models for a consistent model line

Different price bracket & probably lower total production numbers, but the Zonda kept getting re-released with one-offs after its production run ended.

Not comparable, the one-off's were usually (maybe always) done because some billionaire was like Ahem... I want THIS, this way.

Agreed, for a low production car like that, I'm sure you can still get a new Zonda if your wallet is big enough.
