Kia: K5/Optima News
Yea, this kind if typical build quality does appear in cars...

That's when the Optima had around 3000 miles on it.

A much easier fix than all the mis-aligned gaps on the Crosstour - most of them, which one would just have to live with unless you're going to have the dealership pretty much redo the whole interior.

There are 4 TSB's out on all of the Optima versions. One is to reprogram the key fob, one was for a steering pull issue that dates back to cars manufactured before March, One is for a rattle on the turbo on some cold starts, and one for an Ecu flash that addresses dash lights. Not too bad for a first year car in my opinion
Exactly.
The last gen Odyssey had 5 recalls for its 1st year model (including for an incorrectly assembled steering column), but it turned out to be quite reliable over its cycle.

for future reference, Invisible is like SSFTSX sans the obsession of quoting car magazines and with a better grasp of the English language.
I guess that's not saying much. They have some sort of agenda against Hyundai and Kia. Must be a blood oath to Honda Motor Company.... the reason why they are so against Honda's competition is because said competition threatens their very existence!!!
I think Dom and Moog would beg to differ

I guess that's why they aren't posting about Mitsubishi or Suzuki.

What do most people get on forums for? To find solutions to their problems.
Forums are not a good indicator of a vehicle's reliability or quality because all you see on there are the people who have issues. When was the last time you saw somebody get on a forum and say, "Hey...I just stopped in to say my [insert car here] is running fine and I've had no issues with it."

The response?
"People do not come to this forum if they have transmission problems. People came to this forum because they had TL/CL.... Average TL/CL drivers are clueless about tranny problems anyways.. they would just think it is an isolated problem.."
Yeh, my point is that every car can have issues. It's just a matter of how hard you try to find the problems. And for most cases, a simple google search is enough.

AFAIK, Kia has the issue resolved on any builds after 3/11. That being said, I would assume they have fixed it on earlier builds. I believe it was not replacement of parts, just simple adjustments.
I know my experience with a KIA(I have a brain fart and gave KIA a chance), they never could fix the HVAC, nor the brakes, and it too pulled to the right.
I luckily found a Mercedes dealership that took it on a trade with out too much of a loss.
I guess Hyundai and KIA is unable to fix the poor sucker's vehicles built before that date.

It is not just this articles. Follow the articles afterward. First Oil change for turbo Kia needed at 3000miles. and second is 6000. Irrespective of how you drive. No advantage of freeway miles. Manufacturer by itself is not confident about them.
Follow the monthly fuel economy. everything is near to the bottom.
It is not these are some high g pulling cars like TL-SH-AWD/RDX that suspension will lose on pot holes/curbs.
that BMW is garbage. Atleast it survive the tires untill 15k. Kia is done at less than half of that miles. Honda is miles ahead of these in manufacturing quality.

what is wrong with changing oil every 3000 miles??? i do it with my accord.
When SSFFTSXXXD is not quoting articles, he would give you some intelligent statements like:
- How matter how you floor a TSX, it will not get lower than 22mpg
- fastest speed possible in 3rd gear is Not at redline
- his TSX is not stock because he purchased Honda Optional 18" Chrome with Race tires. (on he said it is Advan.)

SSFTSX will be back he's busy enlightening the 4G TL guys. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=740430&page=2

he is a true troll. He stirs up thread necros 2 years later.I still can't wrap my mind around how he was such an Audi fanboy early on in his career, only to later proclaim that the TSX is the best car in the universe.
He was an Audi fanboy before????
No worries, he's going to change his mind when he gets a new car.
It'll be funny if he gets a turbo Optima and starts to preach the Godness of Optima all of a sudden.

I can definitely see it. And yes, he was all about Audi before, and he bashed Honda, despite proudly stating that he owned a TSX in his signature. Of course, people gave him crap for it and he completely ignored it.
If any of you plan on trolling message boards, follow his example
Legendary troll of all time. One thing I do admire about that guy is he is so dry and lacking of any type of personality it's comical. You could call him whatever you want. he'll stay the course riding honda's nuts (first Audi) and never return with any personal insults.
I miss him like I miss the camel spiders in Iraq. Sure they were fun kinda like SSFTSX, they were foreign like him, had no idea why they existed, and seemed to always get the other Marine's attention, but the minute one gets too close to you, you just want to stomp them because they didn't seem to serve any purpose at all.
SSFTSX is the camel spider and AZ is the vast Iraqi desert. https://lhsvirtualzoo.wikispaces.com/Camel+Spider

Maybe he/she/it is a robot, preprogrammed by Honda to only say good things about them. Somewhere along the lines, the algorithms got messed up and instead of commenting about useful things
I propose a motion to change the name 'SSFTSX' to 'ASIMO'
I do miss baiting msl82 and Manual transmission though. They would get incredibly butthurt every time you dissed Hyundai/Kia. Too bad they aren't around to butt heads with SSF. The ensuing shitstorm would be something to watch.

Hey, while we're in intermission, I made a run to Syracuse and back over the last two days. Going up I had the air on and the cruise set to 69. I averaged 33 mpg driving through the mountains of western NJ / PA / and upstate NY. Coming home I had the air off and the cruise at 65 and averaged 38.4.
I love this tire shredding, excessive oil changing, epic failure of a car.

As bad as my Ody has been to me, I still realize that the 3rd gen as a whole has been pretty good.
