I miss my 03 CL-S :(
WTF
I know Kia and Hyundai are always ripping ideas off of other car makers but I'm with ruski, it's a rip-off.
I hate Korean cars.
Only thing I hate more is the owners that start complaining after 10k miles about their cars breaking apart. Well what the fuck did you expect!?

They do have an unbeatable warranty...10 years or 100,000 miles .
These cars can't be so shitty, I mean how does the entire population of South Korea drive them? If the car was as shitty as people say they are, then I'm becoming a mechanic and moving to Korea, cause there must be a huge demand for mechanics.
BTW, did u know even Samsung makes cars over there, through a deal with Peugeot.

SpeedyV6: Yes Hyundai owns Kia but they are keeping them seperate, supposedly.
Also, I know some people complain about their cars being cheap or rip-offs. But you have to admit that in terms of value, these cars are good buys. $10-$20 for a new car with a 10 yr warranty, most US made cars in that price range can't match that.
Also, when Honda and Toyota first started selling cars in the US, people complained that they wouldn't be reliable....

It's problems per 100 vehicles ... it's a ratio.
Unbelieveable ...

What do you think of the Kia Amanti?
I saw a commercial for it, looks nice for a Kia, but maybe when Kia brings out more reliable cars and their quality recognition will be shown in the next couple of yrs........maybe, nah, don't know.

Like the Hyundai XG350, it won't be on the radar of anyone buying in that segment. The Korean companies need to prove themselves vs. Camry and Accord in the core 4-cylinder midsize sedan market first.

Basically, its a rip off of a Mercedes E-class, Jag S-type, and Lincoln Town Car. Can't they be more original than copying and combining other makers designs?
$26k for a fully loaded Amanti is a good deal, but it still is a Kia.
Here are some pictures of the Amanti for those who didn't know what it looks like:

The interior of the Amanti doesn't look half bad, kinda reminds me of the Avalon interior. The exterior is just fugly at its fugliest.
Kia is making strides in improving their product line-up. Their minivan and the SUV have recieved pretty good marks all around. Of course, their selling point is the price factor, but slowly it seems like they are trying to fill the void left by most Japanese companies that have moved more upscale.
The one real positive that Kia has going for them is the fact that they have the youngest demographic of buyers of all makers, which puts it in a good position to try and keep the customers coming back for number of years. They would have to offer higher standard products and more refined cars, which is yet to be seen.
All in all, Kia and Hyundai have improved very much over what they used ot be in the early 90's.
Junkster, who wonders why people keep buying the Sante Fe... it's ugly.

(1) It's reasonably attractive
(2) It has a V-6 option
(3) It's a SUV (some folks on this board hate 'em but the market loves them)
(4) It's relatively affordable
Too small for me but I think it's kinda cute.

You should see the Hyundai Tuscan (sp?) concept being shown in Chicago. It's like a better looking Santa Fe. I would actually buy one when it goes on sale if only it offered better engines. A 2.0L 140hp 4-cylinder is standard and a 2.7L 170hp V6 is optional and standard on higher end models. Not adequate on the Santa Fe, and I don't think it would be any better here. Even the Toyota RAV4 upgraded to a 2.4L engine.

the interior doesn't look that bad, but once you sit in one, you realize how cheap everything is. i mean every button, interior trim piece, even the leather, is cheap to the touch.

Nice interior.
