Just making sure, but you do know that test was rigged right?

No other reviewer ever came close to the problem they created and it couldn't be replicated by reputable sources.

I seriously doubt it was rigged. Show proof.

Oh my lord...its in plenty of other threads...test was performed with the vehicle loaded a few hundred pounds over spec...and their version of the test is much more highly aggressive.

Its was re-perfomed by someone else under the proper specs and was no where as bad, but Chrysler still updated their software right away to correct any potential issues.

Its all here on this site, find the proof yourself.

Oh...and again...thats the GRAND Cherokee. This is an entirely different model. Read.

You want to say something as bold as that you need to provide proof for us to believe. Calling people names here won't make you friends.

You're right, so let me back up Sarlacc's correct observation of the test.

Here is a reputable news source reporting a re-test of the GC by a reputable German automagazine. I'll include the German Hyperlink for your perusal, if you so desire.

Base fact is this: If you load an SUV beyond the manufacturer stated load capacity and then proceed to deliberately out-handle the capabilities of the machine, it's not going to end well.

Mods, I apologize for the derailment.

Jeeps suck. I find it hilarious they gave this thing Asian eyes and a small wiener.

Noone cares it is a truck body on a car chassis or that it handles like shit. All that matters to these idiots is looks and they failed.

It looks "better" in the pics you posted, but I don't know.

I'd like some real world pics, and to see it in person.

It is a departure for Jeep, and I don't know yet if it is a good one or not.

WTF is Chrysler thinking with the new Cherokee?

It has to be the most hideous Chrysler product I've seen so far.

I wouldnt say that is a bad thing, 4 adults didnt leave much room for luggage, Load the thing up with the family and pack it full with vacation luggage and you could have the same scenario pretty easy. I bet 90% of drivers have done that at some point even in their cars. All it takes is one safety avoidance maneuver for this to happen.

Yep,and to point out the VW and Volvo also had the same weight as the jeep and both did great on the same test. Jeep has issues.

Dude...there are links on this site, in the grand cherokee thread about this "moose test" and its being redone as well as Chrysler taking the initiative to perform software updates to further correct/prevent anything.

I'm not going to post them because of the ignorant lazy tard whose quote is down below. He can get off his fat ass and quickly find them himself.

Im not saying no one should buy one, Its just a good thing it was discovered, no matter how much or little it was over loaded. (imho 200 lbs isnt that much) the vehicle shouldnt buck like that. It is good that they preformed/preforming a software update (im assuming to the vsa settings? )

Amazing how so many "enthusiasts" in this thread still cannot understand the difference between the Grand Cherokee and the Cherokee.

2 entirely different models.
This is nothing new.....it's been that way since 1993.

This one did much better. Probably was the fixed model.

"Chrysler developed a fix, and we had our V6 Grand Cherokee reflashed with the software update. In repeating our emergency avoidance-maneuver tests, the Jeep performed much better, managing a top speed of 50 mph through the course. That's pretty good for a beefy SUV, but, more importantly, it behaved predictably when pushed up to and past its limits, instilling a lot more driver confidence. (Read: "Chrysler fixes 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee handling problem.")" http://news.consumerreports.org/cars...oose-test.html

Then again it didn't do well here.

The more I see it, the better it is beginning to look.
It's quite a departure for Jeep.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict that it will be a sales success.
