That looks cool.
I think I'd still go for the CLK though.

Uh i can see where you can say it will be the CLK/645ci competition but there is no way infiniti would price that m45 coupe that high.

Since the CLK and 645 aren't in the same league, I don't really get that. The 645 is 15k more than the CLK500.

I see this car competing more with the 645 but being priced like the CLK, typical Jap strategy.

Pricing it in the high 30's - low 40's is a niche that is being overlooked by every manufacturer, and there is definitely a market for a quality coupe in this price range. Just please don't make it look like a 2 door Maxima - especially the current fugly ones!
I'm not sure I really get your point. Doesn't Infiniti already have a car (G35c) that fills the void vacated by the CL-S? The G35c highly equipped costs in the high 30's.

The M45 coupe would be something the next step up. I really like the idea of this car personally. Very appealing.

I see this car as a CLK/645Ci competition.
645 is a step up from the CLK. i dont see this thing being a 645 comp at clk price i see it being CLK500 comp for CLK320 price. jap companies love to do the "why buy a german 6 cylinder when you can get a japanese 8 cylinder?"

This is great news. Kudos to Infiniti for continuing to kick ass with great product. I can't wait to see the cars. I'll admit though, at first I was dissapointed when I read the new in the magazine and it didn't mention a folding hardtop. After some thought though, I like the idea of a coupe/ragtop 4-seater more and more.

Yes, its a nice idea, just have to wait n see on the final design. I'm glad a japanese manufacturer is entering this segment, its going to hurt bmw very much. I'd feel bad if it wasn't their own fault with the pricing of the 6.

Yeah. I think BMW shot itself in the foot with those 6-Series prices. They're astronomical. I hope Infiniti pulls a BMW/Mercedes move, and styles the M coupe and convertible differently, sharing ques with the Q to give an even more upscale feel.

But by and large the general public won't mod their cars. I won't touch my M when I get it, confident that it'll drive circles around the G (factory)... just my thoughts...and as far as quality goes, Infiniti is top notch.

$60k totally loaded out ... puts it right in the wheelhouse of the STS ...

THAT is going to be a very interesting comparison.

Watching the vids of it on the street makes me thing Infiniti out-GS'ed Lexus

Interior is lovely to me, aluminum or wood. Another great new Infiniti product.

First, looks like the styling is from the Nissan Teana
http://www.nissan.co.jp/TEANA/

Here is a shot of the interior with wood. Looks GREAT to me, thought the wood behind the door handle on the door looks stolen exactly from the current GS.

Great interior...

sick, you are silly...yea the wood on the door looks exaclty like it was stolen from the gs. First of all the GS's wood is narrower and slightly angled. But either way, who hasn't thought of putting wood on the door panel before? I didn't realize Lexus was the first and only.
BTW, I see more Lincoln LS in the door panel than i see GS

Looks like a GS killer to me. The exterior and interior are very well done in this car. Have any of you seen the new designs for the GS? It looks like the generation previous to the one now and has similarities with the current maxima. Also, the car looks very bland. The only good side is the interior. Infiniti may have borrowed the wood panel on the door, but lexus copied the exterior design of the nissan maxima

Your point being what exactly? The styling of the current sc430 and solara look exactly the same. The solara just looks like a bigger boat. The ES330 looks like the camry and the ls430 has the same shape as the avalon, etc etc. Though nissan may use similar styling cues from models in japan, at least they dont look like their luxury counterpart sold in the US. Except maybe the QX56 and titan.

If you can tell me where the shape or looks of the g35 and 350z look similar, then i'll give you a high five. The fx and murano are similar in size but arent even made off of the same platform so they dont really share similarities...except for the rear windshield maybe? Anyway, enough of this stuff...the subject here is the new m35/45

My thoughts exactly. Infiniti is gunning for the Germans in performance. It doesn't have any aspiration to be a "sporty", bland, Japanese alternative like the GS is now. I was really hoping that Lexus would have some kind of breakthrough in terms of styling, but they continue to play it overly safe. The new GS is a safe, predictible evolution of the current car, with no surprises. Infiniti wants to own this class, and Ghosen has the balls to do what's necessary to succeed. As for the competition, we know this new chassis is extremely more rigid than then already tight FM from which it's based, and it can probably handle alot more power than whats produced in from the current V8, let alone the V6. So I don't think the M's new competiton brethern (GS, RL, STS) will not be a problem. I look forward to the comparos, though. And it's going to give BMW, Audi, and Mercedes some sleepless nights. We already know power won't be an issue with the V6 coming with atleast 300 (new RL has 300hp, and Infiniti wants to be the HP leader in ever class it competes in), and the V8 is alread class leading (though they should up it by 35hp in a premptive strike). Hopefully they won't screw up the ratios in the 5sp (really should be atleast 6) to give it the proper acceleration off the line that it's HP and torque numbers suggest. That's what they did with the intro of the latest Q, and that certainly didn't help sales. As far as wood being on the doors, who gives a fuck? Everyone puts wood on there doors. That's really nitpicking.
