How do you know the Brembo's are gone again, someone on another board doesn't believe that to be the case?

God damn it... I luv that car. Nothing but solid improvements. The two different hp outputs is a bit hokey, though. They should just use the 298hp engine all around... looking forward to seeing the pics.

They did. The manual will get a bump of 38hp. That makes it 298.

So 3.5 liters and 300HP. Nice. I wonder what the torque is and where all this stuff is happening on the rpm range. If you think about it, this engine still has a ton of power to show when we consider that 333HP comes from 3.2 liters in the M3's case. At 350HP this will be a 100 HP per liter type of situation. Which is not completely impressive these days for special cars.

Any price increase? It's making the G35c a damn near NO BRAINER. The G35x is now an even better buy. Interior is still :ghey: but you can't have it all at this price.

Sigh, the next model up RL has a 3.5 liter and 300horses. Lexus has 300 horses out their V-8s. I can see the marketing Infiniti will be using now. good for them..

Now if they could just do what they do for the G35 to the REST of the lineup...

The RL probably won't match up well with the M45 with 340hp. That car should be a BEAST on the highway. I'm wondering if they'll evenutally add a manual? The only one that isn't joining the hp war is Lexus... I think eventually, it will come back and haunt them as competitors gain market share. Infiniti will eventually release the GTR which may even be more expensive than anything that Lexus has. If its gonna push the estimated 480 hp, Infiniti will finally have a halo car worthy to compete with the German Marquees. Unfortunately, they could learn a thing or two from Lexus in the interior appointments department

Well Infiniti's marketing 340hp is more like 250hp. And the M45 will have a 5 speed auto whereas the GS 6. The current LS 430 with the same 290hp dropped 1/2 a second with the new 6 speed from the previous 5.
Funny but the 1st gen GS, had a 4 speed until 1997, the 5 speed dropped times about a second.
So tranny is just as important as more power. Clearly Nissan has this figured out with the VQ but not the 4.5....

The new M45 should be a 6-under 6 second to 60 mph car. The fastest I've seen the current M45 is 5.7 to 60mph and the slowest 6.3.

Hehehe...

At first this makes sense, but then I am thinking of the Maxima making 255 and think Infinitis are right where they should be.

I am wondering what the G35C 6MT will do as far as numbers. I am guessing 5.5 for the 60 and 14.0 for the 1/4. What do you think?

It does that now. C&D already did 5.5 to 60 in a comparo with the rx8. Several board members have run 14.0 stock so the fastest have already run that. I think the fastest it will get to is 13.8-13.9. Maybe. The car also gets 19 inch wheels which will increase unsprung weight. The handling dynamics will be better through.

Impressive specs & upgrades.
If they seriously improve on the 80’s Disco interior I’d even consider buying one.

The M will be a BEAST. But comparing the M45 with it's V8 would be unfair; I'm guessing the M35 have atleast the 298hp found in the 6mt sedan, which puts it right with the RL, while have more torque than the RL and less weight with RWD when compared with AWD (FWD 70% of the time). Infiniti definitiely needs to develop at least a 6sp, but something tells me it's still gonna wipe the floor with the competition.

AHH...I see. I'm kinda glad they didn't...then I would regret having purchased my 04 AT coupe (So-Cal traffic is a b1tch!). Honestly, if I had to choose between a 6-mt 298 hp coupe or a 280hp at coupe, I would have gone 6-speed. Right now, there isn't much difference between the 280hp 6speed and auto but that will soon change :'(

2 things.
350Z probably will make 300 horses.
For the next gen G35, 300horses will be marketed like crazy!

Hmmm... That's a very good point. This G is only a refresh... a bump of another couple of horsepower to 300hp for the next gen G will be the perfect marketing pitch.

Yeah, it will probably be faster than the competion...but it has a long way to go to "kill" in the sales department. I applaud Infiniti for their efforts here but more hp is not what this car needs...it needs a better interior.

Agreed. G35 sales are down. The TL is selling like hotcakes with just 1 more expensive model.

Unfortunately no. The 2005 350Z is staying at 287 hp. Pretty stupid decision IMO to have the G35 making more hp than the Z, but since I own a 2003 Z, I'm sorta glad the 2005's aren't much different.

Here's a list of all the changes:

350Z Coupe
The high performance Nissan Z®, which comes with a standard 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine, has sold over 70,000 units since its introduction to the U.S. market in August 2002. The stylish, 287-horsepower 350Z continues the Z heritage of design, performance and value that has remained unchallenged since the original Datsun 240Z was introduced 35 years ago as a 1970 model. In 2005, the 350Z adds only minor enhancements.

Enhancements to the 2005 350Z Coupe:
· Standard Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS)
· Clutch pedal effort has been reduced for easier operation
· 5-speed automatic transmission features downshift rev matching
· Standard driver’s seat front and rear lifter
· Heated outside mirrors
· Faster navigation system processor for improved route calculation times
· Newly available Ultra-Yellow exterior color (Liquid Aluminum exterior no longer available)

Damn, that is kind of weird.

For the next gen G35, 300horses will be marketed like crazy!
I am expecting the 350Z to make at least 305HP. Maybe more.

yes but the G35 is heavier right? SO even if they are par as far as acceleration, that's still acceptable. After all, why does the Z have to be faster than the luxury G? It's like saying that the Accord coupe should be faster than a hypothetical CL.

Agreed. G35 sales are down. The TL is selling like hotcakes with just 1 more expensive model.
INFINITI HIGHLIGHTS
- Sales for Infiniti, the luxury division of NNA, were down 6.2 percent from last August, with 11,285 units sold
- Calendar year-to-date sales are up 8.3 percent with 85,957 units sold
I dunno, I'd rather them continue on their path instead of going for a sales leader which would have been a new fwd I35 instead of the introduction of a rwd G35. I don't think any rwd 30k sedan outsells the fwd competition. The 05 gets an interior update, the 07 will probably follow the m-series with some plush luxury inside.

Think someone in the Z thread said there was an Anniversary Edition Z on the way. If so, I would expect it to have more power than the standard Z like the Anniversary Edition Maxima did.
