I see elements from Infiniti and the TL on the interior.

The Tuscon looks pretty good. The front kinda reminds of the Fiesta.

Oh, and in advance,.........msl stfu.

Beautiful car. Hyundai is really making big steps forward! IMHO, they are not the little cheapo cars from the past. They've got power, luxury, class, and style now!

I love how they modified the climate control from Volvo, which has a pretty good climate control setup!

Honestly, I have not been a fan of Hyundai cars but I wouldn't mind have one of these sitting in my drive way if I was looking for family midsize sedan. Hyundai definitely came a long way.

the sonata has definitely come a long way.

it used to be another bland, midsize family sedan like the older camrys. now, it's anything but.

Looks like Hyundai was watching Toyota closely...Vezna influenced front end...and ES for everthing else on the exterior.

Not bad.

The interior is great....I'd like to see how good the interior materials are.
The Gen coupe has cheapo pieces....this looks better.

How could the design of Venza been used if it was released to the public just a few month ago while the development of the new Sonata has been in progress since last two years? The design of the new Sonata was determined last year, so there is NO way it had an influence from Toyota Venza whatsoever. Have you ever seen the camaflaged sonata being test driven around the world since last year?

Once again, I am seeing people trying TOO hard to see if there any resemblances from other cars. These biased are so ingraved in peoples minds so much that they say something so illogical and stup*d like the post above.

If you compare the new Sonata and old Sonata side by side, you can appreciate the revolution of the design from old to new.

Once again, this is a good design revolution from the old Sonata, and NOTHING ELSE

Once again you don't know what you are talking about.
The Venza design has been around since 2005.
See Toyota's FT-SX concept.....it became the Venza.

You are ignorant if you don't think car makers pay attention to other car makers concept vehicles.

It's nice and I'm rooting for Hyundai but the interior is ripped directly from the G37/EX35.

Not a fan of the front but the interior looks great. I'll reserve judgment until I see it in person.

Any word on power train options.

Oky, you want to play like that? The picture of the concept, FT-SX, is below:

Now, If your seriously saying that the new Hyundai Sonata copied that FT-SX concept, you are either BLIND, or extremely ..................

Tell me, besides the four wheels, four doors, and window glasses, how did the new Hyundai Sonata copied that FT-SX concept?

Like i have been saying all along, I am seeing people trying TOO hard to see if there any resemblances from other cars. These biased are so ingraved in peoples minds so much that they say something so illogical and stup*d like the post above. ( X10)

I know the new Hyundai doesn't do blatant copies anymore...and that's a good thing.

Try to understand the difference between the two words: "influence" and "copy".

I know it's hard for you...but try to control your bias for a minute and keep a level head.

1. he never said it copied the sonata.
2. the venza's been out for more than a few months.
3. even if it's been out for just a few months, how long do you think the car's been in development? you said, yourself, the sonata's been in development for years. surely, hyundai's not the only car that develops cars for years before they're sold to the public.
4. use proper english and grammar if you're going to post here. you're making us korean-americans look bad.
5.

I think Cadillac has the piano black and it's pretty sick. This definitely looks a lot better than my 04 sonata. Dare I say, edgy.

Oh oky, I am so sorry. Lets try this again.

In your earlier post, you said
Looks like Hyundai was watching Toyota closely...Vezna influenced front end
Concept:

Venza

New Hyundai Sonata:

Now tell me, Besides having a grill, headlight, fog light, HOW DID THE SONATA GET INFLUENCED from VENZA??

I have been saying this all the time, it came to the point in which people freely accuses Hyundai for copying everything and anything regardless how much apparent difference there is. This is the perfect example. People are always stereotyping Hyundai as Copier of everything.

IF THEY USE THE SAME STANDARD AS HYUNDAI TO EVERY CARS, THEN YOU WILL REALIZE THE EVERY CAR RESEMBLES OTHERS...

The rear end is ES influenced.

Just messing with you, msl82. You shouldn't get so worked up about other people's opinions, seeing as you obviously like Hyundai's cars very much. I like them a lot better than I used to as well.

I don't see any Venza in this Sonata. The only influence I see is the Infiniti horizontal instrument deck.

Anybody got shots of this car from the side? It's hard to see what the lines are like from these angles. Looks a bit like a mix of Camry/ES/G37.

The whole interior? No. The nav screen? Maybe. But then again, these companies use the same auto parts companies so that defeats the purpose of pointing the fingers.

People like to point out specific design similarities to other cars. It reassures them that they know about cars. It boosts their ego, it stiffens their manhood, and it makes them happy. It reminds them of their kindergarten years of match making pictures. Let them be happy.

Me? I just laugh at them.

The new Sonata is nicely done. People will buy this for sure. Tone down the chrome grille and the car is one outstanding family sedan.

Then don't buy Hyundai. Nobody cares what you buy.. You don't like what Hyundai does then get off this thread and go browse other topics. Get the fuck out of here.

I think its you who should taking things down a couple notches. I'm guessing your a friend or relative of mls judging by your post count.

I'll admit that people (myself included) like to point out how one car looks like another and this happens more with Hyundai simply because of their reputation which like it or not isn't up there with Toyota, Honda etc... Give it time. Lets get this thread back on track.

Some of you people act as if Hyundai created a ground breaking original design here.
Truth is, it's not the case. The Sonata is nice car. I don't think anyone here has said anything to the contrary.

...but what you need to wrap your head around is that taking influences from other car makes is not a bad thing. It's the industry standard. Blatant copying however, which used to be the Hyundai norm...and is now the norm for many China makes is a bad thing.

Influence and copying are apples and oranges.

The myopic responses of how this car is so original is laughable.
