When I look real fast that Hyundai insignia (steering wheel, top of engine) it sometime seems to morph into the Toyota logo. Upon closer inspection it's a bit more obvious what it is.

The car reminds me of the previous-generation Audi A6 with a little more rounding at the corners ... By prev-gen I mean the ones prior to '98

They're doing just what Lexus did when they first entered the market; copy what's successfull, though on a cheaper level. They copied the Jag because it was hot, and as a result I saw more Sonatas on the street. Now they're coping cars again, and they're even getting better at it. The rear on the Sonata looks like they fixed where Honda went wrong, IMO. I'm not saying it's right, because I don't like that's it's not original, but because of it's looks and size, you'll see alot of these on the street.

Does that thing have AWD? It's really tall. Headlights look kinda Saab-ish.

Hyundai is on a roll. Another slam dunk when compared to their own past. Way to go for more competition in an already crowded segment.

At this rate they will have a very strong lineup within 5 years. Hopefully their ratings continue to increase also.

I am sure it will be competitive with what Honda and Toyota offer.

Now's an good time for them to up the price if the want, but only by a bit. They still need to undercut toyotal/honda, but with they're warranty reputation and that JD Power award shining in they're lobby, this is the best time to justify an incremental price hike; not to mention this is a all new vehicle.

Hyundai's redesigned Sonata gets bigger V6; Accord, Camry targeted - - PETER CHANG | Automotive News - - Source: Autoweek

The engine will displace 3.3 liters vs. 2.7 liters in the current model.

The base inline-four engine, a new powerplant developed by Hyundai Motor Co., Mitsubishi Motors Corp. and DaimlerChrysler AG, will stay at 2.4 liters.

Hmmm... I wonder if they'll get 210-225 hp out of the new 3.3L V6. I hope so. Interesting that they're using 3.3L, like Toyota's done.

I just hope they can produce torque numbers that are consistent with engines of this size (around 240 lb-ft).

And 31 Kgm. That's about as much torque as our CLS makes.

I don't think the interior is that great. The gauges, especially the needles, look corny. Should've just kept it simple.

I don't like the carbon fiber accents either. And to the GM-esque one-piece interior door panels. Doesn't look good in a Saturn, not going to look good in a Hyundai either.

This car is an absolute, metaphysical improvement over the outgoing car; inside and out.

where are the radio's controls? I am a fan of simplification and like how the driver is in control, but the passenger has no controls from what I see.
