I guess it's going to debut at the NY auto show, so we should hear more about it soon (next week):
http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/16/2...rly-unveiling/
And I can't wait to hear more... It's the only other RWD 2+2 coupe out there that I would consider buyer (the other being the bmw 1-series). The Mustang and RX-8 just don't do it for me...

Wow for 25k that looks to be a great car!
RWD with a turbo 4banger for $19k? Yikes! Why get a civic si then!
Hope this thing handles well. The interior looks great for that price range.

I think it looks just as good as it did last year when we saw the spy shots with the Mustang. Why were people so smitten with it then and now come all the "it looks like a Tiburon" comments??? Its the same exact car!!

the V6 is getting all the hype. but you'd imagine the 4 cylinder is going to get the majority of sales.
how many of those "i want a new car: small, less than $25,000" threads do we get here?

Even if it has 500 HP and 550 lb/torque I still wouldn't buy this car. The exterior is incredibly ugly.....
On the other hand, the Genesis sedan is pretty darn impressive. It seems like the Genesis sedan is the only car that could run some show.....

And there's nothing "tiny winnie"about the Gensis coupe. Look at the pics next to the mustang; they're similar in size and the current mustang is pretty damn hefty.
There's also nothing Econo about the Gensis coupe either. If you read up about it, its going to come with a Turbo I4 and a 3.5-3.7L V6 option that's going to pump out around the same amount of horsepower as a V8 Mustang (300ish HP). And look at the pics above, is that a push start button I see? Also in dash Navi IMO is better than a pop up navi screen; less moving parts = less chances of something breaking. I also see a nicely wrapped leather steering wheel and even the black dash trim that surrounds the silver center console seems soft to the touch. Also, it was rumored that only a 6 speed auto was going to be offered, but I'm glad that the photos from MT show a 6 speed manual.
I've read your posts about the Gensis sedan, and I'm kinda disappointed that you write off the Genesis coupe off so easily just by seeing only a few pictures. IMO, the Genesis coupe is much more innovative step for Hyundai. They're not just simply going lux, they're going sports too.
What other car company has gone sports? Toyota? No, they dropped their sports cars long ago. Acura? No, with the execution of the NSX and RSX, their line up is dead. Honda? S2000 is in its final year, and it appears after this year Honda will be burying their relation to sports cars. Lexus? They don't have a true sports car in their line up; IS350 comes close. Of all the competitors only Mercedes, BMW and Infiniti have sports coupes in their line up, and I'm impressed that Hyundai is making such a bold move in releasing a sports coupe at about the same time their releasing their Lux Genesis Sedan.
I can only imagine the possibilties of modifying the Genesis coupe; its going to be a Tuner's dream. And if I get one, its not staying stock; for damn sure its gonna get force fed, coil-overs and a subtle ground effects kit to make it look like the Orange concept version as seen on page 1 of this thread.
$23-25k for a fully loaded I4 RWD sports coupe pumping out 230ish HP is a great buy. You can't even find a RWD sports coupe in the low $20k anymore. A V6 RWD Sports coupe with 300 HP fully loaded for $30-33k IMO is a great buy; try getting a 335i or a G37 for that much.
Like Hyundai has said, you're getting G37 performance for the cost of an Eclipse. And it looks pretty stream line to me; honestly looks alot like a G37.

Looks good in silver, looks better in red...
Not sure if I'm feeling the instrument cluster... but it might be time for me to re-evaluate my opinion of Hyundai...

I want to see it in all the colors, silver to me is a bit boring and not really loving the red, it seems to mask the lines of the car. I do think this is a good step for Hyundai, I hope to see it in person at the NYAS if I make it.

This car looks nice!!
Would this car be available this year? I am definately trading my TSX for 300+ HP Genesis Coupe.
This Hyundai Coupe is absolutly gonna burn my current wimpy torque TSX (With similar price Range!!!) ....

Damn, that interior is pretty hot. Definitely worth a look, IF I ever get one though, those badge are coming off.

I had my expectations set really highly after seeing the concept design of the Coupe. The stripped down production version doesn't Wow me unfortunately. I think the car's overal shape/form is nice, and I like the interior quite a lot. What really bugs me are the following:
- Those killer looking technological and advanced looking Air Scoops on the front bumper are taken out.
- No air vented Carbon Fiber hood
- No carbon trimmed rear bumper and large exhaust tips
Those front Air Scoops are the MOST important element in this car!!! Without those it's...... realllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy hurting the design of this car. That front grill really bothers me. Other than that, the car is nice.

I would make the badge twice as big so everyone can see it.

so of course, you won't see all the goodies in non-concept model..
i think you set your expectations little too high..

Nice, but the front could look a little more agressive.

hail to the victors
if you look at it carefully it's almost identical to the concept. concept just has that fake CF duct and the skirts.
if you black out the headlight and CF hood it will look almost exactly like the concept.

and you're welcome.
As for the concept vs. production, I'm just saying that the concept version looks so much better on this car and this car would sell like hot cakes if they kept it the same as the concept.
