long front end, short rear end are hallmarks of a FR car. Unlike a FF car - long front overhangs FTL.

Honestly, I think there's simply a stereotype out there that ever new Hyundai product is a copy of (Insert German car here). I don't think they copy any more or less than the Japanese do. Lexus to Acura have hints of every German car made over the last 10 years. hofmeister kink anyone?

I'll break it down for all geni koolaid fans wasting their time on Azine.
First one:
Big mistake in design - cramped/dead view rear window
Trying to hard to reach A7 which has a Sportsback - 5th door vs geni regular trunk.

You seem to have missed the point of my question. You see, I already said I don't like this new design of the Genesis. That being said, do you really think the RLX design is a "winner"? It would seem the market disagrees with you.

2014 Acura RLX
The sweeping hood design makes it difficult to judge the front dimensions. The tall trunk lid partially obscures rearward visibility but the rearview camera mostly solves that.

2010 Acura TL
The cargo area is sizable; I managed to fit my kids' bikes in there. However, there are no bag hooks or grocery containment methods, so your eggs may very well be an omelet by the time you get home from the grocery store. Visibility is good to the front and sides, though a small rear window limits the view. I was grateful for the backup camera and parking sensors that come with the navigation system as part of the Technology Package ($3,730).

Day-by-Day Review: 2009 Acura TL
The TL provides good feedback on the road and is fun to toss around despite its size. Where the size does become an issue though is where you would expect it to… in parking lots. Visibility is poor as the rear deck is very high. One side mirror does dip down when the car is placed in reverse, which helps some. It is getting to a point now with so many vehicles having very high rear decks that a back-up camera is almost essential to ensure we don’t run over youngsters in parking lots.

2009 Acura TSX
Safety features often get overlooked by potential car buyers, who can be easily distracted by the more glamorous technical gadgetry and engine specs. Fortunately, 2009 TSX owners can rest happy, as the sedan easily earns five stars in all of the NHTSA crash test categories. The TSX comes standard with 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes supplemented by electronic brake assist. Traction and stability control feel solid and deliver good road grip at high speeds. Six airbags include dual front-side and side curtain bags for both rows. Lighting the road at night are xenon HID headlamps, foglights, and automatic headlamps. The new ACE (Advanced Compatibility Engineering) system helps keep front passengers safe by spreading collision impact across a wider area.
A rearview camera is optional in the Tech Package, and several owners find it helpful combating what they say is a rear visibility problem caused by a small rear window.

2013 Acura ZDX -- ConsumerReports.org® Overview
If you pine for a ZDX, you should hurry: Acura is dropping it in 2013. Based on the very good MDX, this coupelike, four-door luxury SUV has a taut yet supple ride and responsive handling. It has a smooth 3.7-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic. That's where the positive attributes end. The low roof, tall belt line, small side windows, and narrow rear window significantly limit visibility. The front seats are relatively roomy, but access to the rear seats is atrocious, and there isn't much room for two adults once they're inside. Cargo space is limited. The ZDX will be discontinued after the 2013 model year.

Hate to break it to you, but the RLX is NOT rated very good for rearward visibility. Nice try though, try again

Not only copying the design elements from European cars, but sometimes the Japanese copy each other too. For instance, I think the 1G RL was a copy of the 2G Lexus.

I was never too crazy about the previous gen Genesis, other than the R-Spec. But the base model already looks good. The front end has some resemblance to its predecessor, and the rear reminds me a bit of a muscular version of the Elantra rear
But oh wait, it's a Hyundai, so let's nitpick every detail...

Not only that, he probably would deny that the Accord has an eerie similarity to the outgoing Genesis from the side/rear.
And then there are those who say the rear of the new Genesis looks like the rear on the Lexus GS, but the rear of the GS also looks like the rear of the Sonata.
And as for the cramped rear window - the Impala, Avalon, Fusion, etc. all have the cramped rear window based on the sloping roofline (and so did an older model of the Infiniti M); but still, they're nothing like the cramped rear window on the Taurus or the LaCrosse.
Anyway, I think the increased resemblance btwn Hyundai's luxury and mainstream lineups is a mistake (see VW w/ the Phaeton being seen as an oversized Passat, notwithstanding that it was priced too high) - and based on the spyshots of the new Sonata, think that it has a good chance of actually having the nicer sheetmetal (already has the sleeker greenhouse).

I think Hyundai is starting to find their image... and sticking with it. Now they need to continue to improve upon it and deliver on their promises.
The new HTRAC AWD system will be sourced from Magna. Does anyone have any experience or information on the Magna systems?
