Doubtful, at least initially. The Cadenza cousin of the Azera has already been shown off with AWD nowhere in sight. Anything can happen though.

This AWD will be practically useless. Not every AWD is Super Handling AWD.

It doesn't look half bad at all. Hyundai's swoopy styling seems to be working.

it might not have the handling ability of RL, but it will also be at least 15-17k cheaper than RL.

I hope RL does well. Acura needs to make next RL as big as Equus/LS460l because currently there is no reason to buy an RL. if RL targets the highway cruisin/gadget lovin' mid 50's wealthy man, i think it might do better than 200 per month. not having v8 doesn't really matter especially if it has 330+ hp v6 SH-AWD. STS doesn't have v8 anyway.

Azera AWD will not handle like FWD TL. and TL V6 6AT will be faster/more fuel efficient.
It is not the length of the car but the brand of car that matters above $50k.
Honda legend has recentaly implemented 6AT/tire silencing technology/more sound dreadening. (It is claimed in Japanese that is the quietest car)
I see no reason it being slower than V8 Equus. RL has the technology/refinement for highway crusing.

That guy in the first two pictures looks super pissed!

Car looks nice, though. Kind of looks like the new Jag XJ from behind.

If the troll gets fed, it'll stay healthy and happy. Starve it, and hopefully it will die off or at least go away. The troll doesn't care what you feed it, but it thrives the most from attention

That said, its a toss up for me.... the Genesis sedan and this new Azera are two of the best looking cars Hyundai has ever come out with, IMO.

Because the Gen sedan makes this one pointless.

But this Azera styling is better/more original than the Gen

It's becoming such a problem. I have a hard time enjoying the Honda/Acura threads in Automotive News because of the troll. His force feeding of the H&A propaganda makes me to never want to buy another Acura ever again.

however...if there were a rwd coupe I might have to reconsider.

Heheh, I would be in another TL if it wasn't so big and the beak was toned down.

I just don't understand how 18 months ago he wouldn't give Honda any credit and now he's drank the kool aid and took the red pill. The motherfucker lives in the matrix. He probably sees everything in code so Honda will always be #1.... before it was 0.

The Genesis isn't staying at Hyundai for long, so the overlap will be quite temporary.

The Azera is Hyundai's equivalent of the Avalon; a big boaty car aimed at the golf course crowd. I got one as a loaner once and went over a speed bump with a little too much zeal (17 mph) and the nose of the car tried to start drilling for oil. WAAAAY too softly sprung for my tastes but a nice car nevertheless.

Yes Hyundai is making a big move -- don't forget the recent Genesis coupe that they had launched with 333hp

If this is designed to be an Avalon competitor as Portland suggested, I'd take this over the Avalon anyday. Funny thing is, I really liked the way the Avalon looked on the outside but as usual with recent Toyota products, once I saw the interior

Several of you probably know I'm not huge on interior materials... as long as it doesn't creak and rattle I could care less what it's made out of, what it feels like (unless I touch/use it every day) and how it sounds when I knock on it with my knuckles. But a huge thing with me is interior design... I guess it follows with my centrist philosophy. I hate overly boxy, boring interior designs and at the same time I hate overly designed, asymmetrical and disconnected interior designs.

um, went off on a tangent and kind of made a rant there LOL. Don't mind me, damn coffee.

Damn. Would it be bad if I got one and lowered it? I love the side view. It would look sweet lowered.

For Americans probably the 3.5 with 270-280 horsepower, 6spd auto, front drive.

The Lambda 3.5 is replacing the 3.3 and 3.8 versions. The 3.5 will provide as much performance as the 3.8 with economy similar to the 3.3. It's the right thing to do.
