Hyundai: Azera/Grandeur News
crazy. hyundai is definitly on the rise. but in korea, hyundai has models out that are really luxurious already. wish they would bring a few of them over here. they probably will once they start powering these engines here!

WOW! That thing looks rediculously amazing. I can see obvious designs from MANY other makes, but this thing looks awesome.
wait, come to think of it, this SHOULD have been what the current generation Accord looked like.

the new XG will be using the 3.8L V6's......
im pretty sure the KDM models get the 3.3L...and also the Sonata's comes with the optional 3.3L...
The 3.5l in the curent xg makes 194hp, the 3.3L in the new sonata is going to make 230hp.
(hp/l people clap out loud (hplcol)). Ps, that new sonata shows what Honda should have done but didn't, that black Sonata is damn hot and the new SI shows what the accord coupe should have been, double failure ouch.

All engines of FWD cars are off to one side o the other slightly due to the room needed for the tranny which is attached to the engine.

Anyway, that could be why. A normal longitudinally mounted engine would be able to be centered for balance.
This is weird though I think older Porsches and VW Beetles were like this.

wow... great find on the XG(Grandeur) pic...
Doesn't look bad. Kinda like a older, more mature brother of the Sonata...
If the XG is priced right, that might steal some sales from other large sedans.
What's with Hyundai? They are on a roll.

Keep in mind that they’re target market is the general public and not enthusiasts like us. If that the case, then they’ll sell boatloads of these. They’ll be no stopping Hyundai.

Exterior wise, I think it's a homerun as far as appeal to the U.S. consumer. Hell, how could it not be with the Mazda/Honda front and Honda (fixed) rear?

The main competition to the XG would most likely be the Avalon, maybe the 500, and other large, cruiser-type sedans (Buicks come to mind)...
I think it could do well in that segment as a bargain option in terms of price. The current XG starts at 26k, and I'm sure they won't raise that much, if at all.
Junkster, who wonders why there's no coverage of the XG on any of the Geneva coverages

I like the Sonata more, but I am REALLY liking the efforts Hyundai is making. Pretty soon, they'll be right with Toyota and Honda IF they keep their latest quality stuff going. Good job, but I think the Avalon and maybe even the Maxima (despite shitty materials) are better buys in this segment.
