They might be able to build a great vehicle, but there's still that "Hyundai" stigma. That stigma is enough to keep me away from the vehicle (and will probably drive resale WAY down).

Looks interesting, however, to say the least. A rather tasteful and elegant profile is seen...

I think that stigma's going away quickly. With the realiability it's proven, and the new product out, like the Sonata, Sorento, and new Azera coming out, they're kicking ass all over the place.

The current Equus is crap.

It shares the same interior with the Kia Amanti, and its 4.5L V8 makes only 270ps.

I am looking forward to this new sedan.

Now Honda how about yours?

wow, that is pretty amazing.
As far as this stigma thing is concerned...just remember Honda's and Toyota's were jokes 20-30 years ago. Now look who's laughing.

Excellent point. That's why I say the stigma is disappearing. The original (little Camry,Corolla,Accord, and Civics were jokes when introduced.

I agree. I like the greenhouse shape and proportions better, also. Very athletic.

I don't think there is any parallel betweeen the Japanese getting there start and the Koreans getting theres.

I think today, a new company will be more easily accepted because there already is such diversity. Think the primary reason it has taken Hyundai/Kia so long is they went the route of producing crap cars from the start, and even now they have to try and overcome that initial impression. Sure they are doing well in initial quality, but reliability still lags behind the leaders.

30yrs ago, the market was American, no diversity like we have now. Honda and Toyota broke through by building cars better. The 1st civic introduced in the Us was at the top of the EPA fuel economy list and sold well, etc etc.

It is interesting that they can build a plan now, but put off a V8 until 2011 or so...
