I agree, I'd like to have push button start but honestly it would not be a deal breaker for me. There are far more important features and functions as well as how the vehicle is to drive.
Besides I have a push starter button on my motorcycle if I want to push to start

I recently had to replace the door lock actuator on my wife's 2003 Pilot so I had to take off the driver's door panel. While in there working I noticed the auto up/down controller is made by Siemens, a German company which seemed a little odd for a SUV made in Canada.
Maybe the German's got the tech for the auo up/down controller to market first because of Siemen's controllers?

The automotive world is a very globalized enterprise - there are very few vendors for certain functions in a car regardless of origin. And just because it says Siemens it doesn't mean the part was actually made in Germany. About the only thing one can deduce from that part is that the way it is engineered is on par with some of the other German electronics that seem to have low reliability.

Definitely. I would rather give up a start button for better driving position, more comfortable seats, etc. It has always been easy for me to find an excellent driving position/setting in a Honda/Acura....but I always need to spend a lot of time adjusting the position/setting in other cars......

The auto supply chain really is global.
Back in the late 90's I worked for a chip company and we bid on a IC for the instrumentation controller for the 1G CTS. The instrumentation module was being made by VDO in West Virginia. VDO built the plant there to supply the VW plant in PA built in the 70's. After VW closed up that plant, the US VDO plant built instrumentation for other non-German manufacturers as well.
Besides having the Cadillac CTS, they also built the instrumentation for the Nissan Altima as well as other German US plants (MB ML,...). Interesting side note is when I visited the plant, being a big car fan I asked why their newer displays no longher had "VDO" printed on the bottom. The marketing guy said the US companies did not want the VDO logo on the display, and slowly the German manufacturers also did the same in the 90's.
And yes, just because it said Siemens does not mean it was built in Germany. However I had to repair my GE dish washer once and discovered it had a Siemens motor made in Germany, and it was made in 1997.

It's funny you mentioned the German electronics reliability, the auto up/down function on the driver's door on our Pilot is not working.
I've been meaning to spend a weekend morning to figure out what's wrong. One of my wife's co=workers husbands is a BMW tech who's been working on them from the late 70's. He has some amusing and interesting stories on German electronics and S/W.
Oh and never ever ever ever buy a early BMW E65 (7-series from 2002-2004), he said that is easily the worst gremlin prone BMW of all time.

Honda will debut two all-new models, the 2012 CR-V and 2013 Fit EV, at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16th at 1:05 pm PST. As one of the best-selling SUV's in the United States, the fourth-generation 2012 CR-V will showcase new exterior and interior styling, improved fuel economy and added technology features. The all electric zero-emissions Fit EV concept vehicle debuted at last year's Los Angeles Auto Show and the production model will be revealed this year.

For instance, the current USA CR-V has a roller door center console cover.

There was absolutely no need for that. Make your point and move on. No need to constantly be on the defensive.

The sizzle in the Steak
The exterior "rear bulge" has me a bit worried.
I'll withhold judgement until we see the final NA product.
I hope they get it right on this one.

Dom, don't flatter yourself. I don't respond to your post, and I have continually requested that you refrain from replying to mine. It's fine that you admit you are here to just bash on Honda, but I'd like to only have adult conversation with others please. The kiddy forum over at TOV might be more your style.

Gotta agree with the 'Honda bashers'. There's no need to be a jerk, especially on such a non-offensive opinion as possibility of an NA version being quite different.
The CRV looks pretty good. Its always been a pretty good product that typically hit the right marks, and it seems like this one should do the same. I certainly hope that the interiors are good relative to its competitors.

Which is why he was banned from TOV and will likely be banned from here at some point.
I still at a Honda fanatic being banned from a Honda site.

A couple of features I'd like to see.
The rear seat fold flat, not the fold and flip forward as in the current version.
The center console be removable like the Odyssey and Element. This allows very long cargo to be placed up to the dash, but only if the rear seat folds flat.
