^ Ditto.

Who cares if it comes with the appropriate engine, when the design is just socially unacceptable.

And it's not just me either. There's something wrong with its design when 90% of the media bash on the design.

No idea fsttyms1.

For some reason I'm being labeled a troll because I posted a wish for Honda to sell their 2.2 diesel in the USA, and to also sell a 5-door hatch version of the Civic.

I'm asking Costoco to clarify why he are labeling me a troll. Any help is appreciated.

Do you have any clarifications fsttyms1? Is Costco correct. If I wish to see Honda selling those products, I'm just trolling at AcuraZine.

I'll say it once, and only once. Go back an re-read the discussion you and I had on page 65 and 66 which led to you calling me a troll. Then read the definition of a troll. I'll led that one slide BTW. In your defense, I don't see you as troll either. But your not being labelled a troll because your Honda product wish list. Again, read the thread to see why.

Now lets get this back on topic.....

Dom, you have made it VERY clear that you hate the Civic. You rank it at the bottom of it's competitors.

Really? More proof you don't read.

I never said it was at the bottom. I was simply rebutting your post that no one matches the Si.

IMO, its closer to the bottom to than it the top. At least as far as the interior and styling (sedan) go.
And even if I did what's your point. Let me make it very clear that your 80honda bullshit won't be tolerated around here just like it wasn't tolerated at TOV. But feel free to keep poking the Bear.

SI is the best NA sub 25k sports vehicle. I like the new styling and my only complaint is the terrible wheel gap. But that seems to be a problem with most vehicles.

a quick drop, rims, and tint...the car will be a diff machine.

Why do you think it's the best under $25k?

And is there any other NA sport vehicle under $25k??

I'm not bashing it, I'm just curious as to why you think it's the best.

Would I REALLY label you a troll just because of those two things? Wanna know why you are a troll?

Because you are very similar to SSFTSX and VTEC Ricer.... your ideals, hopes and dreams of Honda are too out of this world. There's nothing trollish about wanting a certain model/drivetrain in the US. It's just plain to see that it will never happen, and continued insistence on it is just hope-mongering. Meanwhile, in threads of non-Honda Motor Company cars, you on them with your ludicrous comments. You're entitled to your own opinion of course, but I think freedom of speech goes too far sometimes.

Not to mention you argued semantics with and called a mega mod "a smartass troll"

and THIS looks "promising"?

so what do you think about this?

dunno if you should pigeon hole it into such a small niche.... most naturally aspirated sub 25k cars in general are appliance-like commuter cars, more so than in any other (read: higher) price range.

In any case, I would take an MX-5 over a Civic Si anyday. Then there's the 300 horsepower, 30 mpg freeway 2012 V6 Mustang. And if you don't stop at just NA cars, there's the MS3, GTI, Genesis Coupe and WRX (which barely breaches the $25k barrier). I'd have a hard time choosing the Si over any of those, though you can't say it's not different.

I'm beating a dead horse here.

Which is why I said NA. MX-5 couldn't haul more than two people which limits its versatility.

Which brings me to my point. The versatility, reliability, sportiness, non-beige-ness (as your other sub 25k vehicles), is what to me makes the Civic Si such a great vehicle over the competition. As long as you stick to Natural Aspiration.

If you go with forced induction, mazdaspeed3 is the most ridiculous deal on wheels. It's only withdrawal is the lower highway mpg.

Refer to above, I still like the MS3 better than the Si, but if I chose NA over FI, I would take the Si. ps...i'm still working on finding a low mileage ms6 so I can join the brotherhood.

Agreed.

As for the highway mpg, I got 29-30mpg average for a full tank when I went to palm springs last year. I was averaging 65-70mph. It's not too bad. But I'm a person who doesn't really care about fuel economy as long as it puts a smile on my face.

You went to Palm springs and you only average 65mph? i think it is time for you to trade in for a Mazda 3 instead of MS3..

Hmmm not really liking that Euro version but Europeans have much different tastes than us so we'll see. Almost too much of a wedge.

@ amazing trunk space.

I'll tally this as Honda going 0-3 on the new civic designs.

However at least this one does not look exactly like the previous generation...but then again the wedgy design is an "acquired taste".

AVERAGE 65mph.... I might have gone well over triple digit for a bit to have fun.... The car feels pretty good at high speed.

I'm too scared of cops nowadays. It was so much fun when I was a teenager.

Agree, I like this interior more. I'm guessing this is a diesel model with a redline of only 4.5K RPM on a Honda that's really low.

i really like it. you can almost feel the youthfulness of it through the pics, if you get what I'm saying. it's a lot more well thought out than the US Civic, the interior is just so much better looking. even though it retains the shape and overall design of the outgoing Euro Civic hatchback, they made an attempt to revise it - in other words, it doesn't look exactly like the old one, a la US Civic.

If that 5-door hatch with Honda's 2.2 diesel was here in the USA, I'd be at the dealership buying one.

Just noticed that the Euro Civic has projector style head lamps. HIDs?

+1, the overall interior design is really fresh. Overall I like this better than any of the Civic's competition, I just wonder why the USDM didn't use this for the interior? I understand the hatchback being a European mainstay but this interior is great esspecually after watching the video.
