That's the old hybrid parked next to the new one, if that's what you're talking about?

There's a reason most speedos aren't digital, and it's because needles work better. I don't know why they would all of a sudden decide it's so great. On the upside, the way it's positioned you don't have to look away from the road, it's like a head-up display only cheaper.

Maybe it's just for novelty. But I guess that might turn more people off of it. Doesn't the Prius have that kind of set up? Note the resemblance, except that the Prius doesn't flow as well, nor does it have a tach. I think now, I'd much rather have a hybrid Civic than this. But realistically I'd buy the Si (even more realisitically I'd buy the new Acura EL or whatever they are going to call the next gen).

I like it. And a lot of manufacturers are switching to digital speedos because they are easier to read quickly at a glance. The S2000 has used a digital speedo since it was introduced and I believe the Boxster has a digital speedo along with the RX-8.

The Boxster has a dial and digital, but all are laid out a lot better.

These digital speedos are right next to the rpm dial, keeping all the information central rather than spread out and looking bare- have to look in two locations for the speed and rpms. I have a feeling, a driver who normally holds the steeing wheel on top will end up blocking the mph view.

IMO, I don't mind the digital read out at the top, cause then you don't have to glance downward. But I do wish the tachometer was instead a traditional speedometer. In an automatic car, which most people drive, that's a more useful gauge.

distorted accord sedan grill, distorted tsx headlamps, a (UA5) Inspire wing spoiler, and somewhat of a prelude dash interior.

not bad, looks better than the big, round, looking thing thats never really driven around right now. its quite an improvement, but the rear end has to go. the interior is a huge step over the basic civics.

Honda is starting to look too domestic these days. That Civic coupe is reminding me of a Saturn for some reason.

The coupe is "domestic" anyway, just like CL and Accord coupe the Civic coupe is designed for the North America market only.

At $16,965, our fully loaded Spectra undercuts the next-thriftiest, the Chevy, by $2525. And in light of the huge gains in Kia's quality ratings, resale values have been rising, so that owners no longer lose their purchase-price savings when they sell. It's worth noting that Honda will introduce a 200-horse, naturally aspirated Civic Si sedan for 2007. Until then, the Civic is outclassed here.

Jeff and I drove a number of 2006 Civics on Thursday. We have a vast amount of information from Honda and an initial driving impression of several models, including the Si. Stay tuned to the TOV at 12:00.01 08/31/2005 for a flood of information on all the new Civic models.

First look from Car and Driver October...

http://www.vtec.net/forums/one-messa...item_id=394722
Si - length 174.8"

height 53.5"
wheelbase 104.3"
weight ~2900 lbs.
0-60 - 7.3sec
top speed - 136mph
EPA 22/31
estimated price $19,500

Two different tires are offered on the Si - All season MXM4's and Pilot Exalto PE2's. They say that an 18" wheel and tire will be available also.

Sedans will ride on a 106.3" wheelbase and are 69" wide, 176.7" long, and 56.5" tall. The auto tranny is a five speed this time and gets an EPA of 30/38.

hey, weighs in at under 3,000 lbs. very nice. also keep in mind, it has many features. im diggin this...

..but 0-60 in 7.3 seconds? hmmm

now that i think about it, the Preludes of your weighed around 2800 (?)- 2900 lbs, right? im still baffled, 0-60 in 7.3 seconds?! a TSX can pull that off faster on paper

(0-60 source; C&D)

Isn't 2900lbs pretty porky for a civic? RSX is at 2700lbs

^ yeah i gave it some extra thought. consider this; many say the RSX-S is too heavy at its weight. so imagine this thing.

i was hoping for 0-60 in around 6.5 seconds.

That car is still 300-400lbs lighter than the TSX so I can't see how it could be slower.

2005 RSX-s is 2840 lbs. The spec weight that I saw for 06 Si is a little less than 2900 lbs.

Regardless, the new civic is considerably larger than the prior version. It also has more airbags, and more NVH reduction materials. I think the weight is decent.

I meant for the Sedan. There were rumblings of a 155-160HP version of the new 1.8.

Although I guess that would apply to the coupe (non-Si) as well.
