I love that new interior. It's much better than the current one.
Not really sure how I feel about that Crosstour backend... but hopefully the SI or Type R would make it look sporty.
I honestly don't really care how the regular Civic looks like. I would never buy one anyway.

The rear would look okay were it not for the tail light that protrudes into the trunk.
Interior is a HUGE improvement! I have been impressed with Honda interiors in the past 2-3 years. Couldn't even believe I was in a new Fit the other day.

Way better interior than the current gen.
Don't love the grill insert.
Overall a more mature design.

its not Honda Accord that its vents need to be below the eye sight navigation. most people who trying to save last bit of money on fuel economic will care less about navigation in this class.
the point is Honda Accord fuel efficiency has improved enough that there is practically zero reason to buy upper trim Honda Civic with 1.5T engine. small turbo engine usually cannot get the efficiency under loads and acceleration and they are highly unreliable long term. Long term in Honda and Toyota terms atleast 300k miles. I think Honda is unsure about reliablity and practical fuel economic of 1.5T thats why they keep 2.0 engine in the line up. 160bhp is plenty for this class of car.

This 2.8 TDI SUV weighs as much as GX460 V8 and producing as much bhp as 1.7 Hyundai diesel. so whats the point in putting this big 4 cylinder engine?. The answer is clear. never squeezed power from smaller engine and not compromise on weight of engine. Thats how Toyota built its SUV brand reputation that is untouchable. Look at whole Middleast and Toyota SUVs every where at the highest prices.

The LX570 is also one of three select Toyota products that goes through a third round of backbreaking reliability development tests, the other two being the Land Cruiser and the LX 470. Believe me: It's a tank.

Honda: Civic News **2016 Version (page 100)**
I like how the new Civic looks, even though I think the fastback look is a bit overplayed nowadays. I think the Hinda part of Honda is firing on all cylinders style wise lately. They just need to fix Acura external designs and I'll be happy.

It'll be interesting to see the car in person. Pictures don't always do a car justice.

I have seen the new accord beak in person. Honestly, i know it is there but it does not really stand out. Unlike the ones in Acura, that you can't move your eyes off those beak.

From: 10th Civic Forum
Aerodynamic efficiency is improved by 12 percent to class-leading levels, in part through the use of full underbody covers—a Civic first.
Compared to the current model, the 2016 Civic Sedan is nearly 2 inches wider and 1 inch lower with a 1.2-inch longer wheelbase, featuring a more compact and sporty front overhang, a longer, more aggressively sculpted hood and fastback-style tail.

You guys are ruining Automotive News for me with all these SSFTSX skits.

honestly it does not really matter if the Civic looks like the crosstour... With that interior and the feature list.... it is a winner... it has more stuff than ILX.... not just more.. BETTER stuff.

Civic road test 1.5T road test. identical performance as ILX 2.4 but ILX is 200lbs heavier and still better by 1mpg.

so you are saying the 1.5t CIVIC engine is pretty much the same as the current Si/ ILX engine???
it is either the 1.5t in the new Civic is good or the 2.4 in the Si/ILX is bad. Pick 1.

At this point, no manual transmission is offered with the turbocharged engine, though Honda will sell you a six-speed with the 2.0-liter.
And someone doesn't know the definition of "identical"
i·den·ti·cal
ˌīˈden(t)ək(ə)l/
adjective
1. similar in every detail; exactly alike.
2. being exactly the same
3. equal
ILX vs Civic
Zero to 60 mph: 6.6 sec vs 6.8 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 17.2 sec vs 17.7 sec

Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 7.0 sec vs 7.5 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 3.7 sec vs 3.9 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 4.6 sec vs 4.9 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 15.2 sec @ 94 mph vs 15.3 sec @ 94 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 133 mph vs 126 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 184 ft vs 178 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.83 g vs 0.82 g

Hmm...6MT is coming in the future for the 1.5T. Resources are now allocated to launch the coupe, hatchback, si, and Type R.
But wow 0-60mph in 6.8s in a car with only 174hp, nearly 3000lb, and with CVT while rated for 32/42mpg is pretty impressive. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's another car in this class (minus those performance trims like GTI) that can do 0-60mph in less than 7 seconds?

Yah except i can almost guarantee that you and 99% of the people out there will not get less than 7 secs from 0-60 on the street in a Civic.
So it does not really matter. like the #s above indicated, it is more like a mid 7 or low 8 sec car to 60.

2016 Civic prices
Can't think of a compelling reason why you'd buy an ILX when you can get essentially the same car in the Civic Touring for the same or less?

Top of the line Civic costs $26.5k now before tax.... sign...
it remember it used to be $21k, not too long ago.

But then the other cars that get 0-60mph in 7.5s or whatever, will probably be like 9 seconds car then......
It's just relative...the Civic seems to be relatively faster than the competition by a good margin.....I think the only one that comes close is the VW Golf, but that's only with 6MT?
Anyways, may be we can look at the 1/4 mile trap speed instead....94mph....that's the same as the latest Focus ST that Car and Driver tested earlier this year:
