He said everything looked fantastic (for honda guys) except the fake CF finished panels haha Should have just used black plastic finish. Looks like it's going to be priced around $35k instead of 40k?

I thought the FoRS starts at USD$36k. Given that in Europe, the CTR is about 1.5k cheaper, I'm thinking that sort of difference will carry over to North America too. We will know soon enough!

Holy shit that is BUSY! I originally liked it from pics but these not enhanced/retouched pics really show how over the top it is. I would probably feel embarrassed driving this to be honest.

whoa didn't know what gigapet was until now....I think the CTR looks busy because the base Civic Hatch model is already looking busy with the fake vents and stuff. Honda was never going to make the CTR less aggressive than a regular Civic Sport hatch...so....we end up with the CTR with over the top styling...

Anyways, in the UK:
Base CTR: £30,995
CTR GT: £32,995

If we take 20% VAT away, they would be:
Base CTR: £25829
CTR GT: £27496

Converting to USD:
Base CTR: $33412
CTR GT: £35574

Honda will launch the CTR Touring first here in the US, which I assume is the same as the CTR GT in the UK. So, it's pretty much in line with what Honda stated regarding pricing of mid $35k.

I guess next year we will see a base model for $33k.

lol, on a serious note, did Ford dealerships charge a huge markup on the FoRS when it first came out?

It was heavily marked up for 3-4 months after. Some dealers here in Canada were asking 10-15k markups. It was ridiculous.

With the name Type R, you can expect higher Markup than a Focus RS and probably lasts longer too.

Probably longer than a few months depending on supply levels and how long they'll make them for. The Focus RS still has markups in most markets and it's been around for 2 years now. Reason is that it was relatively low volume and only available for MY16 and MY17. Should hold its value better than any other Focus though lol.

I wouldn't be caught dead driving this thing though. It's more bro'ed out than a non-STI WRX with a STI wing on the back and monster energy stickers all over. Wondering who the hell is going to buy this thing at that price? The people who would drive it probably can't afford it.

It does not matter how good it can hold its value, paying anything over MSRP on cars like Focus RS or CTR is just stupid. At the end of the day, they are still Focus and Civic....
I even have problem paying MSRP

Oh I completely agree, I'd never pay a markup on any car. It's just not worth it to me but plenty of people are doing it.

Yah and that is the issue, as long as the dealership can get away with it, they will continue to do so.
If no one buys it at Markup, then Markup will quickly disappear. Unfortunately, there are always the stupid (and rich) ones.

This X infiniti. It always gets me confused when some cars are priced so damn high when the crowd who wants it would never be able to afford it.

Haha I think a EG civic hatch is even lighter than that! My EK hatch is at 2300lb (measured it when I gutted the interior and went to the garbage depot to dump those parts lol).

My EK was the heaviest Civic I've owned. I had a 1999 SiR coupe and it weighed 2650lbs.

The 1992 Si I had, I'm pretty sure came in at 2400-2450lbs. It had the sunroof and sunroof reinforcement which adds weight, plus, all EK hatches were at most DXs... so fairly bare bones. The sunroof did add a lot of weight though. But whatever, that tilt glass that slid all the way back (and not into the roof) was so gangster.

The FoRS was heavily marked up for about a year. Not they are selling below MSRP in Socal.

This is how it is for most of the lower end hyped up sports cars. This aint 911 GT3.

It's the kids who hype it up who can't afford it.

The CTR will be marked up for the first year for sure. I have a sales manager friend at Sierra Honda. They already have a lot of people on the waiting list for this. He said usually only 20% of the list actually purchase the car when it releases with the mark up, and the rest are a bunch of kids trying to get attention from adults.

Never pay mark up or even MSRP unless you really want it. haha

Oh the Sir coupe, thats the EM1 I think. Yea, the coupe is much heavier than the hatch...it's why I got the hatch instead and it was a DX model too with nothing inside. And like I said, it's gutted instead...lol....yup lots of vibration but it's a track car. The power steering is removed as well...

Did you have a 1992 si coupe too, and not a hatch? What's nice about the hatchback is that I am able to bring everything into the car for track days, like extra set of wheels, toolbox, water, food, luggage, chair, etc.

There are several Focus RS available here at MSRP. One would have to be ignorant to pay any markup now.

Don't disagree at all but there are definitely dealers around here that are still marking up the RS by $5k. If they can get away with it then more power to them.

No, My '92 was a hatchback. To be honest, I want one again. But being 25 years old, I think the odds of me finding a good condition one are slim to none. Stock would be best, but I'd take a lightly modded one done with tasteful mods also.

You're right, my '99 was an EM1. My '92 was an EH2. I also had a '95 CX hatch for a bit also (wife's).

$4k markup on the only live RS (real not stock photos) from the dealer where I got my F150.
$10k markup on their only GT350
$10k on their 3 (stock photos) Raptors as well.

That's nuts. There's a Ford dealer right by me selling GT350s at MSRP. At least they did last year when I enquired about one. I remember they had like 6 sitting in front of the dealership.
