A small horsepower boost of 10hp is planned for both the 4cyl and 6cyl engines. Want some good news? Hold on to your hats but the EX V6 sedan will now be available in a 6spd manual! A Special Edition sedan will also be introduced. The first 2006 arrivals will be in September.
New colors for 2006.
Hybrid - Redondo Red Pearl and Premium White.
Coupe - Cool Blue Metallic and Alabaster Silver Metallic. Alabaster Silver along with the current Graphite Pearl will be available with Gray or Black interior.
Sedan - Royal Blue Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, and Carbon Bronze Pearl. Carbon Bronze will be available with either Black or Ivory interior.
If true, it may sway a few TSX buyers who lust for more power but need a stick.

Seriously, how much better is TSX in handling over Accord? If you were to give TSX a 100 score, how would you score Accord?

I drove both as well. Dom is right. The Accord does feel like the Queen Mary II compared to the TSX and compared to my first gen 2.5TL. It's handling is GOOD, but not AS GOOD as the TSX. I think because it's too WIDE. The length doesn't seem to make a difference but the width and "stance" of the car does. And I test drove the 6MT coupe...I haven't even driven the sedan yet. But I can tell you that driving the Accord makes driving a Camry or Buick feel like trying to drive the Death Star.

New exterior styling on both Accord sedan and coupe include new front bumper and grille design, rear bumper and trunk lid design with integrated third brake light, LED taillights, re-styled 16" and 17" alloy wheels and new exhaust finishers.
Four new colors are added to the line-up: Royal Blue Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Cool Blue Metallic (Coupe) and Carbon Bronze Pearl.
Performance enhancements
The 3.0-liter VTEC V6 engine's output increases to 244 horsepower @ 6250 rpm and 211 lbs.-ft of torque at 5000 rpm; new engine features include Drive-By-Wire (DBW) throttle control and high performance intake and exhaust valve timing. (Horsepower and torque calculations reflect new SAE J1349 procedures revised August 2004.)
The 2.4-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine's output increases to 166 horsepower @ 5800 rpm and 160 lbs.-ft of torque at 4000 rpm; new features include Drive-By-Wire (DBW) throttle control and high performance intake and exhaust valve timing. (Horsepower and torque calculations reflect new SAE J1349 procedures revised August 2004.)
A sport-oriented Accord Sedan EX V6 is available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
All V6 coupes and sedans have revised suspension bushings and damping rates to complement the upgraded 17" wheel and tire packages.
All V6 models receive Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Brake Assist.
New interior styling
Revised interior styling includes new steering wheel design, new seat fabrics, new shift knob on automatic transmission models, restyled instrument panel and satin chrome vent accents.
Other enhancements
Smart Maintenance System automatically calculates common vehicle service intervals.
Enhanced sound deadening materials reduce Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH).
Additional safety measures include daytime running lamps and front passenger seat belt reminder.
Heated side mirrors are added to EX and V6 models.
Revised trim levels/packages
Value Package (VP) replaces DX sedan trim level; new standard features include air conditioning, keyless entry, power locks and cruise control.
LX Special Edition is added; standard features include 16" alloy wheels, rear disc brakes and Electronic Brake Distribution, in-dash CD changer, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, body color side sills and carbon fiber-look interior accents.
LX V6 coupe and sedan models add new features, including power moonroof, 17" alloy wheels, VSA and heated side mirrors.

I don't know if I like it or not..... I have always been in the minority here in that I really liked the current Accord's styling. This new one has a more conventional rear end treatment. It makes the car less distinguishable, IMHO. I wonder if it adds any more length to the already rather large US Accord?

I like what they did to the back, and no, it's nothing like a TSX. IMO the front was always the weakest part so I'd like to see the new grille.
I guess 9-spoke is the hot new wheel style at Honda, the TSX is getting 9-spoke too.

Finally
I will say that is probably my next car.

I can't say I like it. The spy pics made it look as if the lights would be just horizontal, not triangular. I think it looks way too much like the Ford 500/Mercury Montego's rear now and it makes the rear look stubby. But it is better than the current design, but then again practically anything would've looked better.

I love the triangular lights. The trunk shape is similar to a mix of a Maxima and a 1st Gen TL. To me, it no longer looks frumpy, and that's a big thing. Plus, those new features are really good! I know several people (3 actually) who wanted to get one with cloth seats, but they wanted the sunroof, and disc brakes ( Accords already had heated mirrors standard on all trims except DX)
That blue Accord sedan is hot! I'm not really feeling the 9 spoke wheels though. I liked the 5 spoke better.

Also interesting how close the V6 is in HP to the TL. I'd bet the TL goes back up to 270 for 07.

Theres these too...
Shows the hybrids taillights (I like them better with the white versus all red) and the front end with the new grille and bumper. I like the integrated fog lights but somehow it all just looks cheap to me. Maybe it's just the picture too. RRP used to be my favorite accord color... But overall i like the design a LOT better

Some people (myself included) are willing to pay "extra" to be able to say they own an Acura instead of a Honda.
I bought my CLS 6spd, but could have waited for the 6MT Accord EX coupe. I thought the extra bucks were worth the exclusivity, better looks (IMHO) and other intangables...
For some people, styling will probably drive their decision, not just cost.

I'd definetly pay the premium for a TL due to styling alone. But biker's point is valid. The 06 Accord may sway more people over now than it would have last year. I was originally going to buy a Accord EX V6 Sedan but didn't due to styling alone. I may have bought the Accord if I were buying today.

No. Because I am sure the TL will get 290HP soon

Accord ugly butt - fixed that and a whole lot more.
TSX - going on 2 1/2 years with more competition on the way - fairly big refresh.
TL best selling in class - don't do anything.

Take a look at the Camry and lame ES300. They shared the same 3L engine, but people still went to buy the Lexus for the label.

So with this new way of measuring HP, our CLS probably makes around 249HP I am guessing.
Phhh, why did they have to make that change? We now have to readjust our notion of power all over again, plus have even more adjustments to make when comparing with Europe and Japan. Pain in the butt.
