Hahah, I guess I can forgive the rear styling as that trunk space is huge at 16.7 cu.ft!

Seeing a couple pretty good edits for this Accord. Really looks like an Audi here:

Improved tail lights and quads:

the top picture looks very BMW like. If I'm not mistaken, those wheels and blue brakes are from BMW.

In the second picture, the rounded outer part of the tail light looks really nice. That's probably the best iteration of the tail lights I've seen. I also prefer the regular exhaust pipes over the quad pipes. They just suit the car better overall.

Yea, those PS'd tail lights plus the original regular exhaust tips would be my preference.

Man, I was looking at the Q50 Red sport review on the other thread, and realized that the Accord's trunk is HUGE. 16.7cu.ft in the Accord vs 9 cu.ft in the Q50...lol.

I recall how much grief my 4G TL power plenum received, but it feels as if Honda doubled down on ugly.

The corporate stylists just can't admit beaks don't really work as a styling highpoint. Kudos for keeping the 6MT though.

Regardless what we think of the Accord's new styling, it will sell... and sell very well... that is all it matters.
If it does not sell, then that is only when the criticism matters.

I mostly like it. Whatever I don't like can be easily fixed. I'm curious to hear more about the 2.0T (actual dynos, modding ability, power ceilings, etc)
and how well appointed the Canadian Accord Sport 2.0T will be.

As a Honda fan, I'm honestly stoked by how well received the 2.0T has been received on the Civic Type-R and SI

The Consumer Reports guys lament that it doesn't behave as much like a VTEC engine but recognize that the 2.0T has a more accessible characteristic than the typical VTEC and there is some actual low end torque.

Yea, it's definitely a different feeling when I can step on it at 50mph in 5th gear at 2500rpm and go up to 80mph fairly quickly.

That's how I felt going from my TSX to the ST.

I'll take turbo and instant torque all day over VTEC.

For spirit mountain and track drive i prefer high rev Vtec N/A, it is hard to beat the screaming engine noise. Unless you are competing for something.

But for DD, Torque > all.

The only time I remember Honda making a drastic styling change due to low sales was with the 04/05 Accord. I don't see that happening with this version.

You can have your turbo and VTEC in the 2.0T Accord.

Yea the 2.0T in the new accord and CTR have exhaust side vtec. But it's nothing compared to that feeling when "vtec kicks in yo" at 6000rpm in the s2000.

haha, yea, took my friend with a Civic 1.5T out in my S2000. I floored it to 6000rpm, and he didn't say anything. Then I told him I floored it, and he was like, oh you did? lol.

Makes sense... i mean you can't have the Low end torque "Vtec kicks in yo" feeling and still expect a 2nd Vtec kicks in yo at higher rpm within the same gear....

If it did, it would be called "Vtec breaks your neck yo"

at 6k rpm, s2000 is slower than most of the cars on the road

Because VTEC didn't kick in yo.

The S2000 is one of the few where that change is so very prominent when the cam changes.

Yup. But it makes enough noise and vibration that it feels like it's going a million miles an hour.

and he was not impressed?

sigh.. nowadays, people are spoiled by the torquey feeling of turbos... they don't appreciate.. or maybe they don't even notice the "Vtec kicks in yo" anymore

He was slightly impressed but I guess he was expecting a bigger shove in the back than his stock Civic Hatch 1.5T which I believe pushes 180whp. I do have an exhaust and header on my S2K but most of you probably know that S2K was pretty well optimized from the factory already so you don't really gain much power with bolt on's. Some bolt on's even lose power...lol..

I think it is time to invest in an AEM V2 CAI for the s2k to show him what Vtec is ... i mean it would not have the same powerful feel but his 1.5T will never scream like a F2X with CAI.

Went from a VW 2.0T in the Audi A4 to the TSX and it honestly felt weird having to rev that high. To each his own, but the 2.0T with the instant low end torque is my preference.

TSX is nothing like s2000... It feels weird because TSX is slow... even compare to S2000.

There is something about shifting with 8/9k rpm that no amount of torque can replace....

I did the opposite & went from a 1.7 Civic or my wife's 3.5 Flex, I forget to get them revved higher. I've gotten so used to the low end torque from the EcoBoost.

And I don't doubt that, but Honda appears to have no interest in selling me a new S2000 because Honda hates all of us.

I disagree. Back when I had my '99 Civic SiR (or Si for you Americans), I hated that car. Why? Because it had zero power. 160hp and 111lbft for a 2700 pound car is terrible. I have no idea why thieves love that car. I had to rev it to it's 8000rpm red line much too often... making people think I was trying to race them. I was just trying to be able to pass, or keep up, or whatever. So annoying. And revving that high all the time gets annoying really quick. You can have low end torque for days with a turbo... you're only making use of any of your horsepower on a small NA engine, if you rev it to the moon. So 10 times a day you're in the real power zone, for 10 seconds at a time. The rest, you're putting around town with half the power.
