Tee-hee, oh the delicious irony of Honda debuting LED DRL's and LED headlights on the middle of the road Accord as opposed to our beloved ADVANCE'd Acuras.

The marketing director of American Honda should be fired immediately.

but those are for "cool" value than actual performance. Most of them are hybrids, so they need that special something.

but speaking in terms of performance, HIDs provide better lighting. that's why all production cars using HID's have only 1 projector bulb in each headlight, whereas these newer LED headlights need at least 2 LED clusters to provide adequate lighting for the road.

If you compare an LED flashlight to a halogen one, you'll see the LED gives a more narrow beam of light vs the halogen which has a wider arc. The light might be more intense in the LED, but for driving purposes, the narrower beam isn't going to cut it. That's why you'll need 2 of the LEDs to light up the same area as one halogen or HID, and HIDs provide way better lighting than halogens.

I stand by my statement of the coupe.

OTOH, I dig the Honda Genesis Sedan. Looks pretty good even in FOB Gold.

Probably nitpicking, but those wheels would be the first to go if I had the sedan. Would love to see it with different rollers and a subtle lip kit. Does anyone know the bolt pattern?

My guess is it will likely retain the 5x114.3 pattern. Doubt they'd change it to a 5x120 like with the 4G TL

For once, getting an LX doesn't mean you gotta look like you bought an LX

Is it me or are the wheels tiny here?

Non-LED lights, most likely LX model

I have no reason to believe that this Accord is smaller than the current 8G, at least considering the industry's trend since the 1980s at the earliest. Cars keep getting bigger. Those are probably 16's.

Echoing what I said earlier, this looks way better than the 8G

yeah it definitely bulked up, it's very evident in that pic. also front overhang appears to be reduced and the trunklid has a very Civic-ish quality. In fact, the overall proportion reminds me of the Civic without the steeply raked windshield. That's one way to make the Civic look better.

Although not a dramatic style departure from my 12 sedan, they definitely did a nice job in making it appear more upscale. (Is this a first for chrome door handles on a four cylinder Accord?)

Honda says car is noticebly shorter than 8G with better handling. It look look bulked up for increase interior space in shorter length. They have parked it with 7G. Large side window for rear.

Front hood and overhangs are mile long relative to the body. with side mirros stick out like SUV. This car looks huge relative to interior space.

Sorry, but you data unreliable. Infact Honda Accord less agile than Cheetah.

Cheetah also have long tail to help with balance and handling. Accord have no tail so balance and handling poor.

Cheetah have long claws to help with traction when cornering. Accord have no claw.

Cheetah has stealth, agility and speed.

Accord flawed.

Gotta say, I like the way that sedan looks as far as the exterior goes. I'm not sure about the Genesis rear, though. I'll have to see it in person, I guess. But so far, it's looking good.

I wonder if that's the new HFP body kit. It looks cheap. And then there's the lower rear bumper with the reflectors and silver trim

I remember a couple years ago no one would have said that. Being "hungry" makes one step their game up. And we all know that's not Honda.

...also, an Optima coupe, that would be great.

I respectfully disagree. If you've test driven a car with auto-adjusting LED's like on the new Benz's, they are definitely a step up in performance.

Back to my point. It's absolutely asinine that Honda debuts LED DRL's and LED headlights in the Accord vs their so called PREMIUM brand.

Dumb. But that's what we've come to expect from HondAcura recently.

what I said was mono-a-mono, the HID offers better performance. That is why cars with LED headlights have 2 or more housings per headlight while HIDs have only 1 bulb per headlight. And because of 2 vs 1, you will get better lighting with LEDs, naturally. LEDs by their nature have a narrower beam, so having only 1 cluster will not provide adequate lighting for automotive use the way 1 HID bulb would.

Here's an example:

3 LED bulbs

vs 1 HID bulb

If the LS had only 1 LED bulb in the LED light setup, it would not match the HID in the non-hybrid version of the car.

sure 1 vs 1 wont match up yet, doesnt mean led is not better. Its why manufacturers put multiple. Plus those bulbs should last the life of the car, right? Overal you get better and longer lasting performance out of a headlight set up with LED's vs HID

^ Agree.

Don't get me wrong, i think it's fantastic the Accord gets LEDs. but my original point was that HID in the Accord would've done the job too, & the LEDs, while providing better lighting when appropriately equipped (but let's be honest HIDs are nothing to scoff at), are kind of not necessary. And that for the Accord to have it while the RLX, from the rumor that base model RLX won't get them, is absurd.
