The rear reminds me of the previous gen A4... but the taillights look really really cheap to me.

They did. They brought the Monaro as the GTO and people complained it was too plain.

Well, make it so already.

I assume from the big sign in the back that they are already have a LHD version of it for other markets besides Australia.

They can't make it too nice and good for Pontiac - it might hurt Cady sales.

LOL!

The first page is the rumoured concept of what the "VE Commodore" may look like...etc...
However, the black car shown with the "LEFT HAND-DRIVE" is the current Commodore thats been out for 1-2yrs already....Although anyone Australian would know that that black car is the current Commodore, so im quite surprised as to why they took these photos of it....it aint new and it aint the supposedly new "VE Commodore"...so I have to say these spy photos are kinda lame.......and IF an aussie took these photos than DAM! I dont know what he/she has been smoking! Unless im looking at all this in the wrong way....??

Good-looking car, I like the back especially. If GM came out with a Pontiac like that I'm sure it would do better than the G6.

Hold your horses smart boy. The spy pics are current Commodore mules with next generation hardware being tested. Typical for all manufacturers. We all know this is the current Commodore.

I dunno, one of these days I think those kidney grills are going to end up giving a better BMW look than even BMW can bangle out.

I totally hate those Pontiac grilles and their pointy logo, for some reason I can't stand it on their cars. Maybe they have some kind of subconcious stigma associated with them, but I know if they got rid of them and just put a regular grille on that car and the GM logo on the front I'd be at least 2x more likely to buy the car.

Let them keep the grills, just make them more rakish/stlyish. Girve GTO the monaro lower front lip. And for God's sake, get rid of the ugly as GTO wheels and give the car some HSV or Regular monaro wheels.

It was. Beside the powerplant, it was styled like a fat, bloated Cavalier witha Grand Prix headlight.

I like the CGI version. It has some distinctive styling and would stand out better than the GTO.

Anyone with a GTO do an "ADM" conversion to the Holden exterior?

One Holden I'm glad they don't import to North America is what they call, "utes" (pronounced, YOU-ts). It's like an El-Camino with a V8 engine. Extremely popular over there (at least when I visited in 2001).

I have the 18"s on my 05 GTO and they are the same as the Monaro's. They look much better than the 17"s.

Actually. I really really like the utes. I think they're pretty bad ass.

Whats wrong with an at? That car with an LS2 and a the new 6speed auto with a stall will murder any 6 speed manual version of the same car.

Depends whom is driving. A manual is more efficient, which means more power to the ground.

Holden also used the event to introduce its new V Series, enabling the company to offer extra variants under the SS and Calais nameplates as well as special edition models.

- Omega (new) – 3.6L V6, peak power 241 hp (180kW), peak torque 330Nm, four-speed automatic
- Berlina – 3.6L V6, peak power 241 hp (180kW), peak torque 330Nm, four-speed automatic; 6.0L V8, peak power 270kW, peak torque 530Nm, six-speed automatic
