Looks like it’s all gonna fall apart unless GM really has got something going. They didn’t get anything technology-wise from Nikola. So right now, all this big boy has got is a shell. .

I'm sure it'll be a real product and released in a few years but at this point it's not real, FWIW

It'll just fall apart the second it rolls off the assembly line.

After GM unveiled the GMC Hummer EV pickup truck, much was made that GM didn’t have a working prototype at the time.

Now, a few months later, GM is revealing a working prototype of the electric pickup truck — showing the doubters.

In October, GM officially launched its GMC Hummer EV, an all-electric “supertruck” with up to 350 miles of range and a starting price of $80,000.

The vehicle impressed many with a ton of features and decent range for an electric vehicle of this size.

GM plans to launch the electric pickup truck next year, which is quick, but the automaker will start slow with the higher-end version of the truck, and the base version is not expected until 2024.

When unveiling the supertruck, GM confirmed that they don’t yet have a working prototype and unveiled computer-generated images, but the electric pickup is on an accelerated development cycle.

It resulted in many people calling the product vaporware and doubting GM’s capacity to bring it to production as soon as next year.

Now GM is unveiling a working pre-production prototype that it is starting to put through winter testing:

For a fraction of a second in the video, you can see that GM put on a license plate that says “OMGREAL.”

GM wrote about the testing of the GMC Hummer EV electric pickup truck:
The GMC HUMMER EV has arrived at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds to continue validation tests and will head to northern Michigan to run through the team’s grueling winter testing process. We will document the journey and share updates in the coming weeks and months. The HUMMER EV’s development speed was enabled by extensive virtual testing, which will be a hallmark of GM programs moving forward and it will begin initial production in fall 2021.
The automaker said that it already sold out of its first-year edition of the Hummer EV, but it never confirmed how many vehicles it planned to sell in the first year.

GMC's electric supertruck lineup expands with the addition of the 2024 HUMMER EV SUV made its debut during the 2021 NCAA's Final Four in a new commercial film narrated by LeBron James.

The new spot focuses on the SUV's revolutionary capability and signature HUMMER EV features that offer Extract Mode and CrabWalk.

"The GMC HUMMER EVs were envisioned to be the most capable and compelling electric supertrucks ever," said Duncan Aldred, global vice president of Buick and GMC. "The new HUMMER EV SUV is the next chapter, which will offer many options for customers to tailor the truck to their lifestyles, while continuing to encourage them to forge new paths with zero emissions."

Driven by General Motors' next-generation Ultium Platform, the new HUMMER EV SUV launches with the exclusive Edition 1, offering customer choice to equip the vehicle for optimal driving range or maximum off-road capability. Edition 1 comes standard with 22-inch premium wheels, assist steps and floor liners.

The available Extreme Off-Road package adds 18-inch wheels and 35-inch-OD MT tires, underbody armor and rock sliders, front eLocker and virtual rear lockers, heavy-duty ball-spline half shafts, UltraVision with underbody camera views and more.

Expected best-in-class off-road proportions will help make the new SUV maneuverable, while also making the most of the HUMMER EV's available signature features such as CrabWalk, Extract Mode and more. The SUV's look remains rugged and includes a new rear design with mounted full-size spare tire. Inside, a similar five-passenger layout from the pickup remains and includes a large and useful rear cargo area.

Additional highlights:
  • Master of maneuverability, with a 126.7-inch wheelbase giving it expected best-in-class off-road proportions with impressive departure and breakover angles, and a tighter turning circle of only 35.4 feet (10.8 meters) with 4 Wheel Steer standard on 2X, 3X and Edition 1
  • An immersive interior puts the driver at the center of every moment, including customizable, multisensory user features and an open driving experience with the standard Infinity Roof with removable Sky Panels, I-Bar and rear drop glass
  • GM's Ultium Drive System offers up to 830 horsepower and up to 11,500 lb-ft of torque (GM estimated) - enough power for super-fast 0-60-mph sprints in approximately 3.5 seconds with Watts To Freedom
  • New tactical technology via the redesigned myGMC app including Energy Assist
  • Great degree of customization via My Mode, auxiliary buttons and nearly 200 accessories available at launch
  • Next-gen electric, with a 20-module Ultium battery system offering up to a GM estimated 300-plus miles of range on Edition 1 (with standard equipment)
Additionally, all HUMMER EV SUV models feature the enhanced version of Super Cruise, an available driver-assistance technology offering hands-free driving on more than 200,000 miles (approximately 322,000 km) of enabled roads, and a new automatic lane changing feature, where the system can determine when a lane change is optimal and initiate the maneuver, while following signaling protocols.

Pricing and Production

When production begins in early 2023, the HUMMER EV SUV Edition 1 will have a starting MSRP of $105,595 (including DFC). When equipped with the available Extreme Off-Road Package, the starting price will be $110,595 (including DFC).

This isn't going into production until 2023? They damn well have something better than this two years from now if they want to be even remotely competitive at that price tag...

Looks tough and cool, but we all now the specs are simply subpar for when it's stated to arrive. One major annoyance I see with supercruise in its current form is that, it has to track our eyes to be functional. So effectively you can't wear sunglasses while driving, which is almost all of my daytime driving. Anyone knows a way around this?

The sensor is IR so it can see through sunglasses if they're not polarized.

Also, Super Cruise is better than Autopilot as stated by almost everyone who has used both.

I've not seen any indication that this will be available outside of GMC.
Not to say that they couldn't use the tech to do an EV Silverado or Colorado, maybe.

I read somewhere last week that GMC will offer an EV version of Silverado using the Hummer platform, but you’re right, it may be pure speculation by the author. I can’t find the reference.

https://www.thedrive.com/news/40657/...-pounds-report

It's no secret that electric cars are heavy. Batteries just don't have the energy density of gasoline and you need a big pack to keep up with the range demands of consumers. Even the Chevy Bolt is relatively hefty for its size at 3,563 pounds, and the battery pack contributes nearly 1,000 pounds to that total.

When you have a heavier vehicle, you need more batteries to keep it going for a reasonable range, and that can snowball—such seems to be the case with the 2022 GMC Hummer EV. According to GM-Trucks.com,the new electric truck weighs no less than 9,046 pounds, which would make it one of the heaviest passenger cars on the road.

Now, to be clear, this weight is being reported for the truck that's going to come out the soonest, the Edition 1 pickup. It's also the most powerful and expensive version of the vehicle with a $112,595 price tag, three electric motors, and 1,000 horsepower. Even with a weight reported at over 9,000 pounds, it's said to go zero to 60 in a genuinely impressive three seconds.

The Hummer EV Edition 1 has a 200-kilowatt-hour battery pack, which is huge. For reference, the longest-range Tesla Model S has a battery pack half that size. Partially because of that extra weight, GM is still estimating ranges short of the Tesla's claimed 400+ miles. It's worth noting, though, that Tesla vehicles sometimes fail to meet their EPA ratings. The Detroit automaker claims a range of 350+ miles for the Hummer.

Other Ultium-equipped vehicles like the Cadillac Lyriq also have battery packs half the size at just 100 kWh, although their range isn't much lower. Cadillac says the Lyriq can be expected to travel 300 miles on a full charge all while weighing significantly less at 5,610 pounds. That's still a heavy vehicle, but nowhere near the astronomical 9,000-pound figure that's rumored for the Hummer. Good luck pulling this thing out of a ditch if this number is true.

This claim has been circulating elsewhere online, too. A user on the HummerChat forums is reporting the same number as well as a GVWR of 10,400 pounds, and it's been said before that the vehicle would span multiple classes due to its weight. Speaking to Muscle Cars and Trucks back in November of 2020, the project's lead development engineer Aaron Pfau the Hummer is "actually going to span a few different classes,” although he did not comment on which class the Edition 1 would end up in.

If the vehicle does have a GVWR of 10,400 lbs, that'd make it a Class 3 truck, with any subsequent lighter versions likely falling into the 2b class. For reference, a Class 3 truck is something like a Chevy Silverado 3500HD pickup or a Ford F-350 Super Duty.

We've reached out to GM to get official confirmation on that weight figure but have yet to hear back as of publishing.

It'll be a very Hummer Christmas for some households, as General Motors says it will begin deliveries of the electric GMC Hummer pickup in December, according to GMC boss Duncan Aldred. And we now know the truck's EPA range number: 329 miles on a charge.

GM had previously predicted the Hummer would achieve a range of 350 miles.

That 329-mile figure applies to the Hummer Edition 1, the top-of-the-line, $100,000-plus iteration that will be the first trucks off the line. The Edition 1 will also tow up to 7,500 pounds and carry up to 1,300 pounds.

Aldred told reporters on a conference call that subsequent, less-pricey models will achieve longer ranges and will be along in 2023.

More than 80% of Hummer reservations are for the Edition 1, though. Aldred said almost half of the 125,000 people who have expressed interest in the Hummer have put down $100 to reserve one. GM has said the first year of Hummer production is sold out.

The Hummer EV joins the Rivian R1T as the first electric pickups to market. Ford's F-150 Lightning rolls out in 2022, and other electrics from Detroit and startups are expected to roll out after that. Tesla is building a $1 billion facility in Austin, Texas, that will, among other things, build the Cybertruck, though timelines on that have come and gone.

The Hummer, by contrast, was developed in just 18 months. It made a big splash last week when President Biden took the wheel during a tour of GM's Factory Zero assembly plant in Hamtramck, Mich. Biden gleefully demonstrated the acceleration of the four-ton, 1,000-horsepower truck, which is said to do 0-to-60 in 3.1 seconds. He then declared, "This sucker's something else."

Next up for GM's EV push will be the Cadillac Lyriq SUV in 2022. The electric Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups will be revealed Jan. 5. And the SUV version of the Hummer will be introduced in 2023. Aldred expects the SUV to ultimately make up the majority of Hummer sales.

GM to start shipping $113,000 electric Hummer pickups to customers

Fri, Dec 17 2021

DETROIT – General Motors is beginning to ship its GMC Hummer EV pickup to customers, marking a major milestone for the automaker and its next-generation electric vehicles.

The new truck is the first to incorporate the Detroit automaker’s Ultium platform, motors and batteries, all of which GM developed in-house and plans to use as the foundation for dozens of new electric vehicles in the coming years.

“We’re very excited for our customers,” GM President Mark Reuss said Friday during an interview with CNBC’s Phil LeBeau during “Squawk on the Street.”

GM is investing about $30 billion into the production and development of electric vehicles such as the Hummer pickup and an upcoming SUV variant of the vehicle through 2025. The company on Friday also confirmed the first deliveries of a new electric commercial delivery van to FedEx.

GM has not confirmed how many reservations it has received for the Hummer EV pickup, which a special “Edition 1” version of will initially sell for about $113,000 before lower-priced versions enter production. The company has previously said reservations for the new Hummer are fully booked through the next year.

Reuss said the company plans to build about 1,200 “Edition 1” Hummers before moving to lower-priced variations. He said GM has about 17 of those vehicles that are ready to be sent to customers.

“Those sold out here in a very short amount of time,” Reuss said Friday.

The Hummer EV is the second all-electric pickup to enter the unproven, yet, emerging segment. It follows the R1T from EV start-up Rivian, which started building the vehicle at a factory in Illinois in September.

The two pickups are expected to be the first of a handful of new electric pickups in the coming years. They are expected to be followed next year by an electric version of the Ford F-150 in the spring and Tesla’s Cybertruck late next year. GM also has confirmed electric pickups for its Chevrolet and GMC brands are coming in the years ahead.

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 is a heavy thing. Weight has always been the enemy of vehicles' power and efficiency. EVs are no different due to their heavy battery packs. But the reborn Hummer takes weight to another level and its efficiency suffers for this.

Car and Driver has uncovered an official EPA document stating the Hummer's weight and efficiency range. Without further ado, the fully-loaded, 2022 Hummer Edition 1 (priced at $110,295) has a curb weight of 9,063 pounds (the battery alone weighs 2,923 pounds!) and a 47 MPGe combined rating. Drivers will achieve 51 MPGe city and 43 MPGe highway. It will go up to an EPA-rated 329 miles on a single charge using 212.7 kWh of electricity.

Now, here's where some (but definitely not all) Hummer Edition 1 buyers might get a bit upset. When it launched over a year ago, GM claimed it'd go up to 350 miles on a single charge. Official testing confirms otherwise. Should we be surprised? No. Despite designers' and engineers' best efforts to improve things like aerodynamics, the big Hummer can't defy the laws of physics.

Sure, it does have over 1,000 horsepower, but the power-to-weight ratio certainly matters. GMC did confirm it will not be displaying the Hummer's MPGe figures on the window sticker because it's not required to do so for any model with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) in excess of 8,500 pounds.

Automakers can display MPGe if they so choose, which is exactly what Rivian is doing with the R1T. It has a GVWR of just slightly over 8,500 pounds. For comparison's sake, Ford estimates its 6,500-pound F-150 Lightning will achieve around 300 miles of range when equipped with the optional 131-kWh extended-range battery. The Rivian R1T has a claimed 400-mile range but only when equipped with the Max Pack. It also earned a 70 MPGe EPA rating.

It's probably fair to say that those buying a Hummer Edition 1, or any Hummer EV trim for that matter, probably aren't too interested in maximum efficiency. No, they want that 1,000 hp, cool features like Crab Walk, bragging rights, and perhaps the ability to pop a wheelie or two.

https://www.autoblog.com/2022/07/25/...mer-ev-colors/

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 came in one color: Interstellar White. Despite production issues potentially pushing Edition 1 builds into the 2023 model year, the Edition 1 will stick to being bathed in that single brilliant shade. GM Authority says it got access to the color palette on the way for the standard series Hummer EVs due next year that shows seven new galactic-themed choices on the way. Interstellar White carries on, joined by Void Black as the only no-cost colors.

The others are:
  • Afterburner Tintcoat, said to be an orange hue;
  • Deep Aurora Metallic, said to be some kind of bronze;
  • Meteorite Metallic, said to be a gray;
  • Moonshot Green Matte, which we've seen on early shots of the Hummer EV SUV;
  • Supernova Metallic, said to be dark blue;
  • Tide Metallic, said to be a different shade of blue.
GMA didn't get intel on pricing for the cost-extra colors; right now, the most expensive palette option for GMCs is White Frost Tintcoat for $1,095. However, the outlet believes Moonshot Green Metallic will be "extremely limited" and charge a super premium price. If that ends up being the case, it suggests GM has a thing about getting big green for special greens. Cadillac made Dark Emerald Frost a late option on the 2022 CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwings and charged $3,925 for the matte paint job. The brand ended production of Dark Emerald Frost in January, making the color doubly exclusive since it was offered for less than a year at the same time as customer demand far exceeded the number of Blackwings available. Anyone wanting Moonshot on their Hummer should get in line early.

The 2023 GMC Hummer EV will begin production later this year. Last month, GM raised prices for the coming model year by $6,250, and raised the destination fee to $1,995. For the moment, that makes the Hummer EV 2 start at $86,245, the EV 2X at $96,245, and the EV 3X at $106,245.

https://carbuzz.com/news/gmc-hummer-...100-to-replace

Earlier this week, an unfortunate story hit a GMC Hummer EV Facebook group.

In the private group, an owner claimed they were quoted a whopping $4,040 to replace the taillight on their car. Yes, the very same taillight GMC had to recall. While the recall was a software issue, the lights clearly won't be easy to replace if you suffer a hardware issue out of warranty.

The alleged quote was given to the owner without labor, meaning you're potentially looking at $8,000+ before labor. We called our local GMC dealer to verify, and the price given to us was $3,045.48 per light. So, it sounds like our Facebook friend may have a separate issue to raise with the dealer.

This could be possible, as The Drive made the same phone call to yet another unspecified GMC dealer this week and was given the same figure. Put the two together, and Hummer EV owners are looking at a massive $6,100 in parts and labor. So, we set out to find a solution and were met with some rather disappointing results.

The Hummer EV is too new for a solution to this problem right now. OEM suppliers don't have parts on the market.

We found one website with some parts listed for the taillight assembly. Selecting add all to the cart brings a total of $6,946.66. That's supposing only the light is broken and not any of the surrounding bracketry. Clearly, going to the dealer would be cheaper.

Save for some shared parts, all the Hummer-specific parts you'd need to fix up a taillight are at the dealer.

Right now, the Hummer isn't old enough yet. This is somewhat expected. Supposing you can get one at MSRP (you can't), the Hummer EV runs you $86,245. You're paying BMW money for a totally new car in its first model year. Parts will be expensive for some time. On top of that, these taillights have a lot going on.

As The Drive points out, the Hummer EV's lights have microcontrollers that handle everything from animations in the headlamps to how the lights flash under different circumstances. These were also the source of the recall we mentioned. For now, these lights will remain expensive until production catches up a little. We're sure the people spending six figures on these will have insurance for them anyway.

GMC's electric supertruck lineup expands with the addition of the 2024 HUMMER EV SUV - and it is loaded with smart, purposeful technology.

"GMC's HUMMER EV SUV offers an exceptional balance of on-road performance and off-road capability, enhanced by a unique structure that allows for our signature open-air experience," said Al Oppenheiser, HUMMER EV chief engineer. "New features debuting on the SUV reinforce its role as a tactical tool in almost any situation."

New technologies include trail mapping available via the redesigned myGMC app, and a new available Power Station generator that enables customers to utilize up to 3 kilowatts of power from the vehicle, turning the GMC HUMMER EV SUV into a power source on the trail or a backup generator.

HUMMER EV's interdependent body/battery structure enables the Infinity Roof on the EV pickup as well as the SUV, and expected best-in-class off-road proportions help make the new SUV even more maneuverable - while making the most of the HUMMER EV's signature features such as available CrabWalk, available Extract Mode and more.

Additional highlights:
  • Interdependent body/battery structure that supports a unique, double-stacked battery pack
  • An available three-motor Ultium Drive system that delivers up to 830 horsepower and up to 11,500 lb-ft of torque - enough power for super-fast 0-60-mph sprints in approximately 3.5 seconds with available Watts To Freedom (based on GM estimates)
  • New satellite-rendered trail mapping power allows drivers to discover and navigate off-road trails, while monitoring their vehicle's energy consumption in real time, with community-based energy forecast through their myGMC app
  • New available Power Station generator that enables 19.2kW AC charging, generator functionality (120v/25A/3kW) and ability to charge other EVs (240v/25A/6kW)
  • Great degree of customization via buttons on the center stack, and nearly 200 accessories will be available for HUMMER EV
  • Master of maneuverability, with nearly 9-inch less wheelbase than HUMMER EV Pickup, giving it expected best-in-class off-road proportions, with greater departure and breakover angles and a tighter turning circle of only 35.4 feet (10.8 meters) with 4 Wheel Steer
  • An immersive experience that puts the driver at the center of every moment, including customizable user experience features and an open-air driving experience, with the standard Infinity Roof with removable Sky Panels and I-Bar
The GMC HUMMER EV SUV is driven by General Motors' Ultium Platform and launches with the exclusive Edition 1 package, offered in Moonshot Green Matte available with or without the Extreme Off-Road Package, for greater customer choice in tailoring the vehicle for maximum driving efficiency or maximum off-road capability.

Master of Maneuverability

With a nearly 9-inch shorter wheelbase than the HUMMER EV Pickup, the all-new HUMMER EV SUV offers even greater maneuverability, with expected best-in-class off-road proportions and a turning circle of only 35.4 feet (10.8 meters) with 4 Wheel Steer - smaller than a Mustang Mach-E.

Without the constraints of a conventional propulsion system and traditional drive axles, tremendous power and control is available to each wheel. In fact, the Ultium drive system can channel power to a single wheel, keeping the vehicle moving in some of the toughest driving conditions and terrain - including 13 inches of suspension travel, climbing 60 percent grades (forward and reverse), scaling 18-inch verticals and fording water more than 2 feet deep.

Standard features on 2X, 3X and Edition 1 models include 4 Wheel Steer with CrabWalk, which allows diagonal-drive functionality, as well as Adaptive Air Suspension with Extract Mode and 22-inch wheels with 35-inch-OD Goodyear all-terrain tires. Standard on 3X and Edition 1 is e4WD with torque vectoring. The available Extreme Off-Road Package adds:
  • Unique 18-inch wheels and 35-inch-OD Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires
  • Underbody armor and rock sliders
  • UltraVision with underbody cameras (front- and rear-facing with wash system)
  • Front eLocker and rear virtual lockers
  • Heavy-duty ball-spline half shafts
Immersive Experience

The 2024 HUMMER EV SUV offers a multisensory, immersive experience that puts drivers in the middle of every moment.

The HUMMER EV's user experience team worked with Perception, a creative agency best known for their science fiction thinking and technology design work within the Marvel Universe, to create a cinematic in-cabin experience that engages the senses.

Special features such as available Watts To Freedom bring their own unique multisensory, interactive experiences, with distinctive sound via the premium Bose audio system, feel through the haptic driver's seat and sight with custom screen displays showing the special performance mode is "armed and ready."

The user experience is customizable through My Mode, allowing the driver to tailor their favorite features including steering, suspension, sound and acceleration for a truly personal interface that celebrates every drive.

The HUMMER EV's remarkable driving capabilities blend with these engaging technologies and a carefully crafted user experience, creating a sense of intensity and drama for drivers and passengers, while features such as the standard Infinity Roof and modular Sky Panels create an open experience, allowing customers to enjoy HUMMER EV's nearly silent movement during outdoor adventures.

The GMC HUMMER EV SUV was also designed as a two-row SUV with a shorter wheelbase to help optimize its off-road maneuverability while providing secure rear storage, with instantly recognizable proportions that convey HUMMER EV's characteristically aggressive stance.

"Designing the Pickup and SUV simultaneously helped us give each their own unique features to maximize utility," said Phil Zak, HUMMER EV design executive director. "The SUV's tight proportions create a distinct profile and spacious cargo area, while maintaining a roomy and architecturally-inspired cabin."

The rear design is unique to the SUV and incorporates a standard full-size spare tire mounted to a power swing-out tailgate. Using one of three button options, the swing gate automatically opens like a vault - even wider than the vehicle itself. The extra width allows for an unimpeded 48-inch opening designed to make loading gear and supplies easier. The spare tire mount also creatively houses a rear-facing camera to assist with reverse maneuvers and trailer alignment.

Inside, a similar five-passenger layout from the Pickup remains, allowing for a large and useful rear cargo area. In fact, with the rear seats folded flat, the HUMMER EV SUV offers up to 81.8 cubic feet of cargo space. On top of that, there is an additional storage space hidden under the load floor and another compartment integrated into the side trim.

The SUV's Edition 1 debuts a new, exclusive Moonshot Green Matte exterior color, and the SUV's full palette will offer seven additional colors (late availability and some at additional cost). Edition 1 also introduces the Lunar Shadow interior theme, which will offer a more rugged option to complement the high-contrast Lunar Horizon interior previously shown on the Pickup.

Super-Strong and Super-Fast

As with the HUMMER EV Pickup, the new SUV is built on a unique, interdependent body/battery structure that serves two crucial functions: It reinforces the overall structure for exceptional rigidity, while also protecting the double-stacked Ultium battery pack.

"The HUMMER EV's body protects the battery, while the battery supports the structure," said Oppenheiser. "That means the battery pack itself is a structural element, which enables a truly open-air experience and a rare combination of extreme off-road capability and smooth on-road performance in a body-frame integral platform."

A large, flat load floor incorporates a protective sheer panel sandwiched between the high-strength martensitic top and bottom layers, which help protect the battery. The strength and rigidity of the floor help reduce twisting and deformation, while also providing the stiffness required to enable the HUMMER EV's removable Sky Panels and I-Bar.

With GM's unique ability to stack long pouch cells vertically or horizontally, the HUMMER EV SUV is able to package its power in a relatively small space: available 20-module, double-stacked battery pack, consisting of two layers of 10 modules. It can deliver up to 830 horsepower and up to 11,500 lb-ft of torque and is capable of enabling 0-60 mph in approximately 3.5-seconds with available Watts To Freedom (GM estimates).

Tactical Technology with New Trail Mapping

The HUMMER EV SUV is loaded with smart, purposeful technology designed to enhance on-and off-road excursions - and one of the latest features is an updated myGMC mobile phone app, redesigned with an all-new home screen and enhanced features, including new off-road trail mapping.

Tailored for HUMMER EV drivers, it not only helps plan and navigate off-road driving adventures, it incorporates charging locations and their distances from off-road locations and provides real-time energy consumption with community-based energy forecast. Routes and plans can be downloaded from the app on the driver's phone and projected on the vehicle's infotainment screen for easier, at-a-glance navigation while driving.

"It's technology that adds to the HUMMER EV's immersive driving experience," said Mike Colville, senior manager for EV complex feature integration and execution. "More than simply locating a destination, we help you find an epic one, create an EV-unique navigation experience when you get there and allow you to share your trip with others."

Standard HUMMER EV SUV technologies include:
  • Large, 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment screen and 12.3-inch diagonal driver information center display that convey a wealth of vehicle performance and driver awareness information - including trail mapping projection from the myGMC app
  • In-vehicle Energy App that monitors energy use, sets up charging schedules, battery temperature conditioning and more, right from the infotainment screen
  • Digital Key allows owners to use their smartphone as the key fob for their HUMMER EV. The technology detects the owner's phone and its location in proximity to the vehicle, enabling a number of passive operations such as approach lighting, entry unlock and vehicle operation
  • HD Surround Vision with up to 14 camera views and available UltraVision offers up to 17 camera views with underbody cameras (included with available Extreme Off-Road Package)
  • Off-Road Widgets offer a myriad of information related to the HUMMER EV's selectable capabilities and performance readouts in off-road driving scenarios - everything from the ride height and eLocker engagement to compass headings, pitch/roll status and more
Additionally, all HUMMER EV models feature the enhanced version of Super Cruise, an available driver-assistance technology offering hands-free driving on more than 200,000 miles (approximately 322,000 km) of enabled roads. It includes a new automatic lane changing feature, where the system can determine when a lane change is optimal and initiate the maneuver, while following signaling protocols.

The GMC HUMMER EV SUV also incorporates a great degree of customer customization through available buttons that can be used for a number of accessory features, and nearly 200 available accessories for HUMMER EV will be available from participating GMC dealers.

Ultium Platform and New Power Station Generator

General Motors' Ultium Platform drives the new HUMMER EV SUV. Its revolutionary architecture provides the framework to integrate advanced technologies for optimal driving efficiency, while also enabling performance and capabilities that would not be possible with a conventional vehicle architecture and propulsion system.

Edition 1 Highlights include:
  • 20-module, double-stacked Ultium battery that will offer more than 300 miles of range on a full charge (without the available Extreme Off-Road Package) and power for three motors
  • Three-motor e4WD drive system offering the equivalent of GM-estimated up to 830 horsepower and GM-estimated up to 11,500 lb-ft of torque
  • 800-volt DC public fast charging capability of up to 300 kW. Industry-first technology mechanically switches the batteries from parallel to series mode during charging
  • Regen on Demand, which can slow the vehicle to a full stop without pressing the brake pedal, and feeds that energy back into the vehicle
  • One-Pedal Driving and Terrain Mode. One-Pedal Driving can slow the vehicle to a full stop using the accelerator pedal providing very fine control, while Terrain Mode uniquely integrates the brake system with One-Pedal Driving, giving the driver precise control while off-roading and rock crawling
  • New available Power Station generator. The new available Power Station generator offers significant external powering capabilities to power off-road adventures and more. With enhanced vehicle hardware, the GMC HUMMER EV SUV can jump charge another electric vehicle at 240v/25A/6kW and power a variety of equipment and accessories at 120v/25A/3kW.

It's not bad looking, about what I'd expect from an EV H2
If the truck weighs 9k lbs, this has gotta be close to/over 10k in top trim.

It's 9" shorter than the truck version so it's probably about the same or less. R1S weighs less than the R1T for the same reason, not by much though.

Good point.
Back when I was working at Chevrolet in college, the heaviest non-HD truck on the lot was a loaded 4wd Avalanche. Shockingly, weighted more than a Suburban.
Enough that they were exempt from MPG testing, window sticker shoed N/A or something like that

Raptor R v Hummer EV

Jump to 8:00 in the video for the actual race

https://www.motor1.com/news/696315/g...r-r-drag-race/

In the fast-evolving landscape of automotive technology, electric vehicles have emerged as more than just environmentally friendly alternatives. A prime example of this paradigm shift in performance recently unfolded on the drag strip between two vehicles you wouldn't expect to see in such surroundings. The GMC Hummer EV and Ford F-150 Raptor R are big, heavy trucks packing gobs of power. One is electric, the other isn't.

By now you should know the GMC Hummer, the resurrected icon that has redefined what it means to be an electric pickup truck. With a robust design and cutting-edge technology, the Hummer has become a symbol of power and performance in the electric vehicle realm. On the other side, the Ford F-150, America’s favorite combustion-powered vehicle for decades, is stepping into the ring in its range-topping Raptor R version.

The numbers don’t lie – these are two very capable machines in their respective segments. The Hummer has a three-motor electric powertrain with a claimed output of 1,000 horsepower. It tips the scales at 9,640 pounds, making it significantly heavier than its combustion-powered competitor. The F-150 Raptor R, in turn, is powered by a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine with 700 hp at the crank. At 6,000 pounds, it would be the heavyweight contender in virtually any drag race. Here, it's essentially a feather. Relatively speaking, of course.

We know that in drag races, there are many factors that decide which vehicle is faster. At the end of the day it all comes down to power, weight, and traction. The GMC Hummer has an advantage in two of those three categories, basically giving the Raptor R no chance on the strip. In the first start, the electric truck beats the ICE one with a solid gap, and in the second one, the Raptor R is given a truck length to make things more interesting. That doesn’t really change the outcome of the race and for the final round, the Ford gets three truck lengths. Is it enough? Yes, but just barely. After a very bouncy start, the Raptor manages to eke out a win from the hard-charging GMC. Had the finish line been a bit further down the track, it would've been a different outcome.

Say what you will about electric power. At least the future won't be a slow one.
