G-Power: M4 CS (based on BMW M4) News

Press release...

Power upgrade for the BMW M4-special edition CS

There is no doubt that the M models of BMW's 3 series respectively since 2013 4 series belong to the most popular sports cars in their class. This applies especially to the limited special editions that the Munich car manufacturer has released regularly over the last decades. The most recent of them was the M4 CS which followed predecessors such as the GTS, the CSL, the GT or the Sport Evolution. One of those rare coupés has now been upgraded by the BMW-specialists of G-POWER from Aresing.

By using a combination of hardware and software modifications G-POWER managed to increase the power of the 3.0-liter inline-six engine to a whopping 600 hp at 6,500 rpm whereas the maximum torque rises to 740 Nm which is available between 4,000 and 5,500 rpm.

Key Facts: G-POWER M4 CS (F82)

• 600 hp / 441 kW at 6,500 rpm (+140 hp / 103 kW)
• 740 Nm at 4000-5500 rpm (+140 Nm)
• V-max: Over 320 km/h
• 0-100 km/h: 3.7 sec
• G-POWER-performance software: 3,250.- euro
• V-Max Limiter removed: 668.- euro
• G-POWER supercharger modification: 3,650.- euro
• G-POWER downpipes without catalysts: 1,780.- euro
• G-POWER titanium exhaust system including 4x 90mm Carbon tailpipes: 5,335.06 euro
• G-POWER GM4 RS coilover suspension: 2,039.91 euro
• 20-inch/21-inch G-POWER HURRICANE RR forged alloy wheels and tyres: from 7,269.- euro
(All prices are net.)

One of the keys to this is the individual engine software customisation via the so called G-POWER-performance software. Importantly, the extra power extracted from the S55B30 engine is a function of the oil and water temperatures, and respects all its OE protection and diagnostic functions.

Since the standard turbocharger system cannot flow enough air to reach these heady power levels, G-POWER carry out significant modifications. The most significant of these is the replacement of the standard compressor wheel with a larger precision CNC milled unit, developed and manufactured in-house by G-POWER’s engineering team.

Various other modifications are carried out to improve the flow rate and speed and volume, resulting in a big increase in efficiency. As the new wheel is also lighter, inertia and spin up time are reduced, which results in better throttle response.

At the same time the engineers addressed the exhaust turbine wheel, which uses curved turbine blades with capped ends to ensure reduced exhaust gas temperatures. This in itself allows the use of higher boost pressures. The turbocharger housing had to be machined out to accommodate the new compressor and exhaust turbine wheels, and internal gas flow optimisation was also carried out. Finally, dynamic fine balancing ensures long-term reliability of the unit.

The G-POWER M4 CS now leaps off the line, hitting 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. And thanks to the removal of the electronic Vmax limiter, it easily strides up to over 320 km/h.

The exhaust note is a very important ingredient for the enthusiast engineers at G-POWER, who put a lot of effort into creating the hearty soundtrack that accompanies their M4 CS’s incredible performance. Crafted from titanium, the bespoke ultra-lightweight exhaust system delivers rousing ear candy from its four 90-millimeter carbon fibre tailpipes.

To ensure this uprated version of the limited M-coupé maintains perfect road manners, G-POWER install their G4M RS fully adjustable coilover suspension, and a set of HURRICANE RR forged alloy wheels in 9.0J x 20 and 10.5J x 21 inch sizes, shod with 265/30R20 and 295/25R21 high performance tyres.
