Once again,

eat bat shit dude. That thing does not resemble the Sonata at all.

The new Genesis coupe resembles the G more than this thing resembles the Sonata at the very least.

Not that the genesis coupe gets less sexy points for it, though...

I agree 100%. The car shown in the above pic looks great, period. It murders the ugly ass Avalon and the outdated Impala. I like the front end even more than the new Maxima.

Right.... because that'll make them stop. If you care about Hyundai that much then go be emo in the corner by your own self. The difference is that Ford Motor Company has decades and decades of history, especially racing. Hyundai has always been known for being subpar. When's the last time someone on AZ decided to get a Hyundai over anything? Even the Hyundai fanboys on this AZ own Acuras.

You are just the true definition of a troll. You really are coming close to being the 1st person on my ignore list.... yeah, I know, big whoop, an ignore list. But not even Water-S has that distinction. You trump Water-S in annoyance factor.

Personally I don't care too much about the Ford Taurus, but news is news. All you do is clutter up any threads of Fords, GMs or Chryslers saying they look boring, can't handle for crap, etc. When the fuck has a Hyundai been able to prove that it isn't boring and can't handle for crap until recently? Not sure about the latter but still. It's pretty damn obvious that you've never driven them before, especially when you talk about cars that haven't even been made yet. At least learn how to offer some constructive criticism.... i.e. if only it had independent rear suspension, it would handle better, etc. instead of your typical "looks like shit, can't handle for crap" nonsense

Nonetheless I still think the Genesis coupe has a lot of potential. But please.... go back to the Hyundai forums where you came from. Its a win-win situation for everyone.

Toyota is literrally making a killing on the Camry. You can get a base Camry for less than $24,000 up here. Ford has got to step it up.

Now we just have to wait for hte interior shots...

I do like Ford's interior design over GM's. I think some of the newer Lincolns and Ford's top of the line trucks have great luxury design. It's only the materials that suck.

GUANO - Breakfast of Chumpions!

Back on topic, that prospective 2010 Taurus is the best looking Taurus design since the original. That said, stick the Mustang V8 into that Mondeo and ship it stateside and this just might actually be a Ford in my garage:

This styling is very European. A little bit Jaguar-like. It has to come from the European design studios. There is no way that the US design studios can come up with such a nice European-flavored styling.

In fact, European Ford's always look better than the US Ford's.

Well, it's not that the Americans can't come up with a nice design. It's that they went in a different direction. It's no secret that Mulluay (I don't think I spelled that right) wants one global design language, and that the American Fusion inspired design was competing with the European Kinetic (ex: Mondeo) inspired design. It seems, the Europeans won out. This Taurus is obviously influenced by the same Kinetic design language that is so well represented on the Mondeo. I can't wait to see the interior of this car.

What's great is that from the grainy pic, production version hasn't strayed from the rendering at all.

That's gonna be one hot car if it makes it to production. I wonder what the possible engine choices could be? Does ford have a 280-300hp v6 to stick in this thing?

It'll use Ford's EcoBoost engines.

Is there any possibility that this will be based on Mondeo architecture, produced in the states? Or is it cost prohibitive?

I remember the reason why the didn't want to bring the Euro Fords over here was because of cost; but does that mean it would be too expensive to import into the states, or that they cannot ramp up production lines here to build something based off of the Mondeo?

i remember reading somewhere that one of the reasons they wouldn't bring the mondeo here was because it wouldn't pass the bumper tests.

Shut down the US design studios, and I'm sure the cost saving will be more than enough to give the European-designed car a generous selection of US-spec bumpers.

Wouldn't that be like taking job away from Americans and giving it to the Europeans?

Why duplicate a copy? Why copy a Hyundai when you have a a bunch of better looking cars to copy from?

Exactly. This will give the Americans serious incentives to do their jobs right. Business is business. It's not like the old days when Ford was making millions of dollars in profits. Ford is hanging by the thread now that it has already mortgaged everything to the banks. Whatever operations that don't do a good job has to go, in order to save the company.
