Just ignore him--I'm sure he's enjoying this. I would be (heck, I am).

If we leave him alone and he keeps raising a stink, littering the thread

Ford should just bring over the Mondeo to replace the fusion and milan, and they should bring over the Falcon to replace the Taurus. The mondeo is smaller and offers fwd and awd just like the milan and fusion. And the Falcon is bigger with RWD. The Falcon would be a double edge sword. It's the size of the impala, with RWD good looks and power. As much as people would buy it, so would law enforcement. They need a 4 door sedan they can drop the mustangs engine into. Imagine a 4 door with the GT500's motor. They's give GM a run for their money with the G8 GXP.

I don't think they can do that. The styling themes are just so completely opposite-ends-of-the-spectrum. I am also not a fan of the Australian Falcon at all. I think it's a dated design theme.

The Mondeo, in top of the line trim, could cost US $46,950

Like Jedi said, what would it cost to build in Mexico or Canada?

If the Mondeo sold as well as the Focus (21k a month) I think that'd be worth the expense wouldn't it? And since the Mondeo is a much better car wouldn't it sell MORE?

Maybe Ford simply cannot afford the tooling for a plant in North America. I don't see how it can afford NOT to?

Mulally has only one chance. If he fails, there goes the end of Ford, and the banks will all scramble in to seize what's left of Ford Motor Co.

And although I am not a huge fan of their offerings, that would be a sad, sad day in history. I just hope that this New Taurus leads the way of great new car product from Ford.

Ford Design Center bans 'Take You Child To Work Day' due to leaks

Following the leak of a single camera-phone photo of the 2010 Ford Taurus, Ford has told employees children will not be allowed at its Design Center on the nationally recognized "Take You Child To Work Day" on April 24th. The directive comes from design boss Peter Horbury.

According to our sources, and based on the recent internal spy photos of the upcoming Ford Taurus, parents who work at the Design Center will not be allowed to bring their children to work, and it's unlikely alternate accommodations have been made for these parents and children.

We're trying to get a copy of the memo, but in the meantime - we think Ford needs to find a new place for these families to "share" what mom and/or dad do on April 24th.

It's unclear if Ford has determined how the Taurus photo leaked or how it relates to Take You Child To Work Day.

yes, because we all know it was one of those sneaky toddlers who snapped that pic. He or she clearly was very interested in sharing the 2010 Ford Taurus with the world.

Toddlers? I had that take your kid to work day when I was 14, damn old enough to take a cell phone picture and post it on the internet.

I'm with Ford on this one.

Who gives a flying shit. I don't see you driving a Sonata or buying one anytime soon. And when or should I say IF you do, post pictures. Until then,

All you do is pollute domestic car threads with your nonsensical Hyundai fanboy BS. When is the last time you owned a Hyundai at all or driven a newer American car?

Top is a 2003+ Accord, bottom is a 2006+ Sonata if you couldn't tell :gheylaugh:

Top: 2000+ C-Class, bottom: 2002+ Sonata

Now go

Post 2010 Ford Taurus SHO info...

From Leftlanenews...

In January, Ford announced it would make the unprecedented move of redesigning its Taurus sedan after a year on the market, and today our spy photographers captured the first images of the next Taurus’ interior.

The current Ford Taurus was unveiled in early 2007 as the 2008 Ford Five Hundred. It was then renamed to Taurus in an effort to take advantage of the nameplate’s strong mindshare. The car was “facelifted” to give it more style than the original 2005 Five Hundred. Unfortunately, the move was not enough to boost sales or public perception of the model.

As a result, Ford CEO Alan Mulally ordered a complete redesign. Less than six months ago, he told the press the 2010 Taurus would be “the one we should have made originally.”

Ford has decided to combine elements of its “Bold American” and European “Kinetic” design language for the 2010 model. While this isn’t Ford’s all-new design language (which will debut in several years), it is certainly a move in the right direction.

Although the car spotted today was heavily clad in camouflage, an earlier image leak and our artist’s illustration show what the production Taurus will look like. The basic three-bar grille remains, but it has been grafted onto a trapezoidal opening. A similarly shaped inverted air intake sits below the grille. The headlights have some detailing similar to other American Ford products, but their shape is decidedly European.

Underhood, Ford is expected to equipped the Taurus with its new family of ECOboost engines, including a high-performance, 350 horsepower SHO model.

Interior shots show an upscale interior, complete with a twin cockpit design similar to that seen in the Chevy Malibu.

Is it a groundbreaking design? Not especially. Will it allow Ford to compete effectively against its Asian competition? Absolutely — and that’s what counts.

Very exciting indeed. This car has a lot of potential. It could possibly help stem Ford's bleeding, along with other promising models like the new Fiesta. The SHO is sure to be hot.
