Also not a huge retro fan (hate the new beetle), but this one really pulls on me.
I've always loved the looks of the blue Shelby mustangs from back in the day (with the white stripes all over), and if they can offer that exterior color trim with black leather, I might be hooked.
Don't know about buying a Ford though, never bought one and never even been to a Ford dealership.

Junkster, who also hates the retro Thunderbird.

WTF is with those 2 big round lights in the center of the front grill? that looks like ass, is it supposed to be a rally car or something? Besides that, it looks ok.

Are you that young to not realize that some of the old Mustangs that this model was based off of, had these two lights? ANYHOW, I always like retro cars...but retro cars that look so retro that they looked aged doesn't look good to me...and this Mustang doesn't look good to me.

I'm 27 and don't really remember or care about too many older Mustangs. What I do know is those 2 lights in the grill look terrible and Ford would be crazy to bring those to production. I mean seriously crazy.

domn, I agree with you 100%, the concept grill was much better, I do remember the lights, but they never looked that out of place, it was my thoughts the first time I saw it earlier today, is this thiing on a rally or something.

Almost as bad as putting the TL fogs in the head light cluser

What!!?

They got rid of that wicked "MUSTANG" that's been carved into the rear bumper for so many years? Without that I fear I'll no longer be able to laugh aloud when I'm behind a "STANG"

As far as the retro look, I applaud anything that might make us forget the styling of the last six years.
I might think twice about driving in sunlight. That interior is gonna reflect like a mutha! Does it come standard with a welding mask?

That's when cars are surposed to come out. Acura has spoiled you with selling cars early sometimes. The new TL was introduced in the fall of 2003 when 2004 models usually come out, so they are back to "normal" with that model at least.

When I think of cars coming out in march (or their abouts), I usually think of them as half model years. Like when the mustang was originally introduced, it was a 1964 1/2 model

That rear 1/4 window kills it!!!!

The Cobra won't come out until fall of 2006 as a 2007 model.

where is the aerodynamic on this thing? I love the specs but the front end looks like it is going to create a huge air drag..

what is the Aerodynamic drag coefficient?

Those giant wheel wells make those wheels look so puny. you HAVE to go 19s or 20s to make this look good......
Nice retro design

I saw C6's on the road last fall, and a early test mule 05 stang last summer, IIRC.

Oh yeah, and the 05 stang definitely needs some 18's to look right. For some retarded reason Ford has always given the mustang puny wheels stock, except for the Cobra recently.

Mustang Priced Under $20,000 - Source: The Car Connection

The 2005 Ford Mustang - the first new Ford pony car in more than 20 years - will be priced from $19,410, Ford said on Tuesday. The new Mustang comes with a 200-hp V-6 engine and five-speed manual gearbox, dual front airbags, and an AM/FM CD player. The GT version, with a 300-hp version of Ford's modular V-8 and a five-speed manual gearbox as well, starts from $24,995. Both prices include destination charges. The Mustang goes on sale in the fall, with a convertible version expected in calendar year 2005.

I dont think any have been delivered yet. I think Job 1 date is like Sep 29th, so another month or so before ppl have them in their possesion. Mid/high 13's shouldnt be too tough, as long as it launches nicely.

Yeah, 20k for the model no one wants. 25k for the fast one. Uhh, with the SRT, EVO, WRX, 350Z etc etc all here now, Mustang GTs are no longer the only cheap fast car.

Let alone the wonderful used car market.

The majority of Mustang sales have been V6s and I would assume the 05 will be the same. The new GT is a great deal IMO.
