...again too bad we will never see the eurofocus in NA

JediMindTricks 11-12-2007 01:17 AM

eurofocus does look nice...

:whyme:

derrick 11-12-2007 08:40 AM

Looks like the Euro Focus (and the other Ford offerings in Australia) are vastly superior to the products sold in North America. :whyme: You mean they paid Mulally how much to make those decisions? (ie bring Euro and Aussie products to NA) J Mays ... or whatever his name is ... should be fired and the people responsible for bringing aforementioned products to market should "reinvent" Ford.

As someone has already said before ... Lutz wisened up with GM to bring in Australian Holden / GM Europe designs here ... why not Ford?

JMays is a good designer. Bill Ford III just wouldn't let Ford build what he designed.

I still don't see why this can't be built in Mexas. Or is that Texico? :)

It really is. It's almost as if they're chicken to release any sort of car that might win them a few fans. There's nothing in Ford's stable I've ever given a rat's ass about.

GM is by far the most interesting US automaker. :2cents:

In case you didn't know, that car will never, ever come to the US unless it's imported as a grey market car.

That's the British/Euro Focus.

:)

Is the interiour as crappy as the USDM focus's interior?

No, not at all.

It's amazing how good Fords products are overseas yet they continue to let themselves get raped on their home turf. They would sell bucket loads of those in the US, but i guess they're market research does not reflect that.

Their market research results in Homer Simpsonmobiles.

There is way too much reliance on the wrong kind of marketing and focus groups here in the US.

The average person doesn't know about European cars. Hell, the average American can't point out France on a map.

They need to be shown the light ... Like Bob Lutz is doing.

The argument that the Euro Focus is too expensive is bullshit. Build it in Mexico instead of that POS Focus and it becomes feasible.

Ford needs to fire anyone with the last name Ford (unless they are not related to Henry somehow). Too much nepotism and incompetence.

I agree and along with the termination of all those people should be the accountants that are directing that ship. If there was anyone with semblance of automotive passion in headquarters the product would be vastly superior.

Ford presents 2009 Focus CC ‘Black Magic’

From Motor Authority...

Ford’s European Focus family was recently given a midlife facelift and to spruce things up further the top-end cabrio model is also now available in a limited ‘Black Magic’ trim. Like the previous Fiesta edition, the new model will be limited to just 1,500 examples and is available with either a 145hp 2.0L petrol unit or a 136hp turbodiesel.

Differentiating the car from the regular fleet is the unique ‘Panther Black’ metallic paint, 17in alloy wheels powder-coated in black, new front fog lights with chrome detailing, tinted headlights, and unique front and rear bumpers.

The car also sports tinted glass, aluminum trim on the center console and leather cladding for the steering wheel and gearshift knob as well as MP3-compatible audio system with Bluetooth. Other features include custom floor mates, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors and performance tires. The car official goes on sale next month and is priced from €28,100.

Ew. :ugh:

Python2121 05-13-2008 01:59 AM

Exterior is horrible (the crease where the top of the door meets the car)
Interior is close but its got a ways to go

is300eater 05-13-2008 02:40 AM

ugh! I would totally rock this if they had kept the chrome (fake) side vents, like the ones on the sedan :whyme:

titan 05-13-2008 08:18 AM

The exterior sucks ass.

JediMindTricks 05-13-2008 08:37 AM

this one's so much better...

AsianRage 05-13-2008 10:44 AM

Ford doesn't like to offer good looking cars to U.S. buyers.

agranado 05-13-2008 10:57 AM

strangely, that coupe looks far better than the sedan.

That being said, it still smells like hot garbage. :yuck:

How goes it, gav...?

agranado 05-13-2008 01:20 PM

LOL for a second, the coupe rear-end looked like a dwarf pickup truck... a subliminal message to encourage people to move into one of those gas guzzlers?

cmschmie 05-13-2008 01:48 PM

Didn't the hatch (1st gen) sell well for them? Why change that to this horrendous piece of bacon?

I drove an 08 about a month ago. I got in expecting the worst. It was surprisingly powerful, handled ok and drove ok UNTIL I had to park.

Backing up, is no fun. There could be any number of things, like a child, a curb etc that is completely obscured by the huge, high rear end.

stangg172004 05-13-2008 02:59 PM

thats bad, bring your euro designed cars here....

S A CHO 05-13-2008 04:32 PM

With it lowered a bit, it actually doesn't look bad at all IMO. But that rear end is just weird looking.
