Looks alright. The interior design needs to be improved a bit more though, IMO.

I doubt it. Gas prices have come down enough to the point where I think people will jump right back to where they were before. I really don't think most American's care to want to change their lifestyles now that prices have come down again. IMO, for many Americans, ignorance is bliss. If people really did care about the prices of gas, they would have caught on much earlier before it got as bad as it did.

if it has a push start. I'm guessing a $20,000 Ford will have push start, yet you have to pay close to $40k to get one in an Acura. Thats a funny looking center stack too... no way in hell I'd buy one of those, but I can see the appeal in it, it doesn't look bad for a car in that class... what I don't get, however, is the obsession with humongous headlights in Honda Fit-sized cars.

The push button start is real obvious - it's right there on the dash. That's assumed for the Euro version but not necessarily for the NA version.
It's a mish-mash of various cars - I see some B class MB from the back, some Peugeot from the front (including the antenna in the front middle of the roof).
The interior...well... it's different.

What Would Don Draper Do?
if this is what's going to be sold here, then
way to go, ford. it's a big step in the right direction.
and i'm assuming there's a better chance that there are more ford execs and/or designers reading AZ than acura's.

New info..
Ford used the Guangzhou Auto Show in China earlier this month to unveil its 2010 Fiesta Sedan — essentially a production version of the Verve sedan concept — and now details have surfaced on the North American-spec car. Expected to be offered in the United States and Canada, the Fiesta four-door will be manufactured in Thailand and Mexico for these markets.
Motivation for the Fiesta will be supplied by a 1.6L, featuring variable valve timing. No output ratings have been released as of yet, but the Fiesta is expected to deliver peppy performance and fuel economy near the 40 mpg mark.
Ford’s SYNC system will be available on the Fiesta, as will 16 inch wheels, a remote entry system, three different cloth and leather upholstery choices and a four inch LCD display. Seven airbags and stability control will be standard.
Although the Fiesta will slot below the Focus, Ford will be positioning the Fiesta as a premium small car, which should help the Blue Oval turn a decent profit in the historically slim-margined small car segment.
In order to ramp up North American capacity, Ford will invest $3 billion in its Cuautitlan, Mexico facility, which will raise capacity to 500,000 units annually and create another 4,500 jobs.
Ford will market a hatchback version of the Fiesta alongside the sedan in the U.S. The Dearborn-based automaker originally planned to sell only the sedan version, but changed its mind in the face of rapid consumer shifts from trucks and SUVs to more economical vehicles.
Ford did not officially announce which hatchback the U.S. would see — the Fiesta is produced as both a three-door and five-door variants in other world markets — but a source at Ford’s Mexican plant indicated that both versions would be available in the U.S. At the very least, the U.S. will see the five-door version, as evidenced by the latest spy shots.

5 Door hatch spied...appears it will be available in U.S.
While we know a Ford Fiesta sedan is in the works for the U.S. market, there has been much speculation across the internet on whether we might also get the five-door hatchback that is so popular in Europe. Although Ford has yet to give us an official answer on the subject, our spies have answered the question with a lone shot of the U.S.-bound Fiesta five-door.
Our spy photographers only managed to snap this one photo before the hatch made a hasty get-away, but it’s all the proof we need to see. Our photographer says that the hatchback has the same front end as the U.S.-spec Fiesta sedan that’s already been spied. A new rear bumper and taillights are lurking underneath the camo as well.
There will almost certainly be changes to the interior as the dash on this particular prototype is shrouded in a black cloth. The five-door version of the Fiesta will likely bow alongside its four-door counterpart in the early part of 2010
