I love this too but for over 40k with options it should have the twin turbo v6... even the flex has it!

Ford is definitely my favorite american car brand and the fact they didn't take any bail out money is even better. The new police Taurus looks really good too

That does look pretty hot. Ford is making its best cars ever

I may own an older GM and want a Corvette badly but I have no bias whatsoever. I'd like to be in a 2011+ 5.0 GT someday...

The 2011 Edge Sport appears ready to assume its position as top dog in the Edge family. Those considering this crossover will have more choice than ever before because Ford will also offer a high-mileage turbocharged and direct-injected 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine sometime in 2011.
It's in the works.

The people at Ford are doing an awesome job! I hope they keep up the good work for a long time to come, it's so nice to see an American automaker doing well. I'm glad Alan Mulally was able to continue his success after leaving Boeing.

so true.

They've been making some great strides ahead. I think a toned down grille on this car would be the icing on the cake. I'm really liking the new Taurus SHO.

It's amazing to see what Ford is bringing to the marketplace. I can recall a short conversation I had with Edsel Ford (no, not the original) over four years ago, and he telling me the direction Ford had to move to become a competitive manufacturer. This included more progressive products and a willingness to evolve as a company overall. Apparently these transitions started a few years prior to our conversation. It's nice to see it's efforts resulting in some really nice stuff.

lol, I still remember when I saw myself in the drive through at the In-N-Out with the t-tops off in my car. I looked like a damn kid

I don't care, I'll drive a damned lifted truck even if it looks like I stole it or something. I would even drive an Edge, if I had kids that is.

2011 Ford Edge ordering guide hits the Intertubes

2011 Ford Edge Sport – Click above for high-res image gallery

After spending some time with the 2011 Ford Edge Sport, it's obvious Ford did more than just a run-of-the-mill mid-cycle refresh. And with the overhauled crossover hitting showrooms this summer, more and more information is trickling out. A member of the Blue Oval forums apparently found the Edge's order guide, giving us a complete rundown of the four Edge packages available at launch.

First, let's begin with what we already know. The Edge will be available in SE, SEL, Limited and Sport trims, come standard with an overhauled 285-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 powerplant and the Sport model will get the same 305-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 that powers the 2011 Mustang V6. According to the ordering guide, Ford expects 17 percent of customers to opt for the base SE model, 39 percent to go for the mid-level SEL, 40 percent to choose the Limited and only four percent to choose the 22-inch wheels of the Sport model.

SE buyers will have two Rapid Spec option packages from which to choose, though the pickings are slim. Spec 101A includes a convenience package with auto-headlamps, a compass, keyless entry and a reverse sensing system. The SEL will add everything from the best SE model plus standard equipment including 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, heated mirrors, a six-way power driver's seat and dual-zone temperature control. The SEL trim will also afford three different packages: Rapid Spec 201A includes the eight-inch LCD MyTouch interface with SYNC and a rear-view camera while Spec 202A adds features like leather seating surfaces, heated front seats, a 10-way power driver's seat and ambient lighting.

Stand alone options include an expansive Vista Roof (available with spec 201A or 202A) and Ford's excellent navigation system (available with spec 202A). Jump to the Limited Edge and MyTouch, SYNC, leather, heated seats with power adjust in the front row and visual cues all around are all standard. The Limited has three rapid specs, with The Blue Oval expecting 301A to be the most popular. The package includes navigation, HID headlamps and the Vista Roof. Spec 302A adds BLISS blind spot protection and adaptive cruise control, while the low volume Sport model comes with scores of standard features including the aforementioned 22-inch wheels and 3.7-liter drivetrain. All options, including navigation, are a-la-carte. What the alleged Edge order guide doesn't include is pricing or any information about the 2.0-liter turbo model, which reportedly won't be available until 2011. Check the gallery below for the full guide.

I've liked the Edge since it first came out. I thought it was a nice looking vehicle. Rented a couple and was pretty impressed with the interior room and powertrain. My absolute "gotta have" SUV is no doubt the Infiniti FX50S but this Edge Sport is now #2 on my list...

2019 Ford Edge ST

https://www.topgear.com/car-news/det...er-suv-edge-st

The same team behind the Ford GT supercar has built a 335bhp V6 SUV

“If you seek comfort, space and affordable tech, it might just suit your needs,” we surmised after driving the ‘regular’ Ford Edge SUV. But what if you seek speed, pointiness and power?

Step forward, the brand-new Ford Edge ST. That’s right. ST. The hot badge the Brits most closely associate with the Fiesta and Focus has been applied to a big, heavy, unremarkable SUV. It’s been unveiled by Ford US ahead of its Detroit motor show debut, and we have some details.

It is the first Ford SUV to have been tuned by Ford Performance, who are of course the same people who designed and built the GT supercar. It gets a 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6 producing 335bhp and 380lb ft of torque.

That, in turn, is fixed to a “quick-shifting” eight-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel-drive. You also get better brakes. And ST-tuned suspension.

Select the ‘Sport’ mode, and you’ll get a sharper throttle response and shifts that hold on to those revs for longer, sharper engine braking and a louder exhaust.

Distinguishable from its lesser-powered brethren, you’ll spot a wider grille, deeper side skirts and dual exhausts. There are 21in wheels and all of the other toys that come packed into the Edge – which, admittedly, is rather a lot of toys.

It’s not coming to the UK, you might be sad to hear (we’ll just get the diesels and ST ‘Line’ trim), but in any case, fast SUVs are all the rage these days, right? Plus, if it paves the way for a banshee Edge RS, then hell, we’re up for a laugh…
