Not bad, but 100lbs heavier & some 5 inches longer.
Bit more power & torque from the turbo-4. Not as good looking as the ND, IMO. |
This angle looks okay, some other angles..I thought it's ugly.....overall I like ND more.
|
I like that Fiat a lot more!!!

The body makes me keep thinking NB miata :dunno:

Fiat looks nice, like someone said, jaguar-ish
|
Like the Fiat's rear better. The front is very meh.
Why is it 5 in longer, as mentioned? Confirmed? |
I liked Fiat exterior more...but Im annoyed the interior is the EXACT same. They could have changed that a bit, too.
|
I love it.
And it has the Abarth 500 engine in it.... |

I think the Fiat is ugly... right away when I saw the first photo and looked at the hood and windshield/A frame, I thought Crossfire.

^ Agreed, though I believe the silver windshield hoop can be had in body color as an option.
Still would take the ND 100x over the Fiata. |
Yeah it's kinda weird design, seems like duck eat a car and have baby -_- Fiat should take responsibility.

Having seen the new Miata on the streets now a few times. I'm just not loving it. Its cold and lifeless with a Jaguar ass end. This design has character. To me anyway. |

Whoever said crossfire is very right. I'm not a fan of the Fiata. I like the ND much more. |

You're on drugs. And not the good kind, either.

Since everyone is going retro, maybe Mazda should have put the Flip up headlight back on like the NA Miata with a modern twist. (projector with LED when flipped up)
|
Safety is what killed the pop ups.
|
they are not safe?
|
Not for pedestrians when they get hit. Other than styling changing over the years, I think this is what officially killed the pop ups altogether. I think it's illegal for a new car to have them. Sad, really.
|
wtf kinda of logic is that?
Was that law proposed by California? If Pedestrian safety is the reason, then they should ban all Lexus since their angular bumper will kill Pedestrian instantly. |
Nvm, not California. It was Europe.
With time, the motors and electrical equipment of pop-ups inevitably failed. An epidemic ensued of winking cars (one side open, the other closed) and cars with headlights perpetually popped open. Eventually, the regulations surrounding headlights loosened, and instead of hiding them, carmakers began to use them as a significant design element. By the late ’90s, the pop-up headlight had left the mainstream and became the sole custody of the sports car, dying out in 2004 with the Lotus Esprit V-8 and the Chevrolet Corvette. The lights are likely to stay dead, as Europe’s stringent pedestrian-impact regulations make it difficult, costly, and impractical to develop a compliant pop-up headlight. |
No, not really. The design of the Lexus front ends likely reduces injuries if pedestrians are struck. It's not the bumper itself, but more so the overall shape of the front of the car, including the hood angle, etc. pedestrian safety is a huge reason why cars look like they do these days. Ever notice those annoying, triangle windows adjacent to the A-pillar? Those started being implemented due to the overall shape of the car and reduction to pedestrian injury.
If you get mowed down by a car with pop ups, you have two additional "bricks" able to smash into you. Pop ups have resulted in some gruesome injuries in the past. Granted, this stuff only works to a certain extent. If someone hits you at 60mph, you're likely dead, regardless of what hit you. |

HighlightsThe Fiat 124 Spider, designed at Centro Stile in Turin, Italy, borrows cues from the original Spider – widely considered one of Fiat’s most beautiful cars of all time – and reinterprets them for today. The 124 Spider has a timeless low-slung presence, with a classically beautiful bodyside, well-balanced proportions and a sporty cabin-to-hood ratioThe Fiat 124 Spider is the most affordable turbo-powered convertible in America, with a starting price of $24,995 U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Noise vibration and harshness (NVH) enhancements, including an acoustic front windshield and insulation treatments, also help to deliver a refined, quiet ride.
