I think the only vehicle this would really apply to would be a Jeep Wranger. Since the warranty is not transferrable, that's the only vehicle that I could see keeping 5+ years.

After owning one I would have to agree.

isn't it an oxymoron to have a "lifetime limited" powertrain warranty?

This warranty seems to be less useful than the 10 yr 100K warranties offered by the Korean mfgs and Mitsubishi. At least those warranties are transferrable.

I guess it's good for people who plan on buying Chryslers and driving them forever, but who would want to do that?

those warranty's are 10/100k but they only cover powertrain for 5/60k. this new chrysler warranty is covering powertrain for "lifetime"

They need to start getting aggressive like this, to survive the onslaught of $10,000 Chinese cars that will soon hit the market.

they cant even go past 75k miles without having a problem. so i don't know how a chrysler will last a lifetime. marketing garbage, just trying to boost sales for there crappy cars. the only way i would buy one is with the SRT package and thats if i got a Good deal on one i mean a "REALLY GOOD DEAL" on one.

Not true. My parents' 3 Chryslers have been less trouble than my TSX. My mom's '98 Cirrus has 121k on it and still running after being beaten into the ground with long, hard commutes.

That being said, they are still boring cars IMO and do not interest me whatsoever.

That depends....does it go fast but handles like crap and is full of nasty hard plastic? If so, then yes....not my cup of tea.

Have you ever owned one? I have a few Dodges in my life and all of them had much less problems than my Acura CL-S. They were solid and sold at about 90k miles on the odo. All the ppl around me with Chrysler group products also have no problem with their car/truck. You know what, I would buy another Chrysler group product if they hire someone can actually design, but I will not buy another Acura product EVER!

It is very interesting that Consumer Report rated Acura is more reliable and better quality, but as from what I have seem it is not. all my dodge never have paint peeling off problem and yes they are parked outside unlike my Acura is garaged for half of its life. Acura is fawking cheap on material quality and paint.

My Acura is only 50k miles and I can give you a long list of things Acura repair shop did for me.

Every one i know has been thru more than 1 trans (cars and trucks) and MANY more issues Electrical, mechanical etc..with chrystler products.
My paint is flawless on my TL with over 240k miles on it, never a issue other than the trans problem Id buy another acura hands down (if they came up with something RWD)

I owned a 1983 Dodge Aries and still have animosity towards my parents for making me spend my money on that when I was 18.

I wanted a 81 Scirocco. Instead I get a car that caught on fire before 50k miles. Then a bought a Buick because I listened to them (get something sensible) and that caught on fire at 55k miles.

My point? I don't think I have one.

The reason why people have less problems with their old chryslers is because compared to your acura its a POS and things that might bother you in the ACK i.e rattles would never come close to bothering you in a shitty sirrus. With a car like that your just happy when it turns over every morning and expect nothing less from it. Fact is their products are vanilla and boring, the only cars that they have that are exciting are such poor investments that with the depreciation you could by another subcompact car to use as a beater if you compare it to Jap or german vehicles. Depreciation on domestics is nearly an exponential rate of decrease so they simply don't make sense to purchase.

Chrysler: CEO Declares Bankruptcy...

CNN Article

"Someone asked me, 'Are we bankrupt?'" the Wall Street Journal quoted Chrysler boss Robert Nardelli telling employees at a meeting earlier this month. "Technically, no. Operationally, yes. The only thing that keeps us from going into bankruptcy is the $10 billion investors entrusted us with."
Well that's what they get for hiring Bob Nardelli as CEO.

By the way, if he has any of your money in that $10B I suggest you get what's left out ASAP

Otherwise he's gonna ride off into the sunset with it.

Drove home depot into the ground also home depot stock. So many employees lost money as soon as this man took over. This man will just take a nice buyout at the end.

Don't you think it's a bit premature to be blaming Nardelli, crikey he's been on the job less than 4 months.

If you work hard and want it badly enough, you too can be a highly compensated senior officer!

At least this man is telling the truth. Not like the ones from Enron and WorldCom who were still telling lies right up to the day their companies imploded.
